There was originally a camper parked here with a roof over it while the main house was built back in th 1970s. When the home was finished the camper was moved out and it was turned into the cabin. It originally had a wood stove but it was always to hot so we replaced it with an electric heater and at the same time remodeled the interior. It is very comfortable for two to three people as it only has the bunk beds, microwave, small closet and dining table with 4 chairs including a rocker and a cabinet with pots, pans and silverware for your convenience.

Ten miles to nearest loaf of bread. Close to logging roads. You will have aprox. one acre to yourself. Quiet and secluded. We are close by if ever there is anything you need.
Recently we were very close to the Crown Creek fire and a hotshot crew came and "prept" our property and cut down a lot of the underbrush therefore changing the landscape around the cabin so the main picture has changed to the current one.

Shaped by behemoth glaciers that carved out the land over 10,000 years ago, Colville National Forest is a gorgeous treasure spanning 1.1 million acres (props to President Theodore Roosevelt for saving it). The lands include a number of geographic features including the Kettle River, upper reach of the Columbia River and the Selkirk mountain range, which is considered to be at the foothills of the Rockies.
Residents (including several Native American tribes) and visitors enjoy camping, nearly 500 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, lakes, rivers and some too legit to quit wildlife including grizzly bears, cougars, bald eagles and the last remaining herd of caribou in the US. That was almost starting to sound like an indie music festival lineup! Did we mention it’s an inspiring place? Iron Mountain Ranch features the owner's hand built straw bale house which is run off solar power, a friendly herd of horses along with a few cats and three dogs. (look up the ranch social media accounts online for additional pictures).
Since this hut is built with partially screened walls and partial solid walls, you should consider the season when requesting a booking. I will accept bookings starting but even in May the night time temps can be cold. Checking the local Northport, WA weather forecast can give you an idea of what weather we will be expecting. Please consider this luxurious tent camping as there is no heat source in the hut, no electricity or running water. Please bring lanterns, flashlights, headlamps etc.
The futon is a queen size and I can provide sheets and bedding but prefer you bring your own if possible
***There is a very limited supply of potable water on the property so you are required to pack in your drinking and cooking water. Washing and shower water is provided.***
In the early spring and late fall we cover the screened walls of the hut with clear window plastic so that the nights are not very cold inside the screen house. We provide a propane buddy heater that is safe for indoor use to help keep the space warm for you!! A hot water shower with equally impressive views is close to the straw house but still as private as you need it to be.
Once owned by the Lael family (whom the road is named after), this land supported lots of horses in it's past. The Lael family homsteaded this area, raising horses on their acerage and the original Lael house is still standing on the lower section of the property. Old and beautiful apple, plum, cherry and pear trees still thrive in the orchard they planted along with massive willow trees. I'm honored to continue the Lael's love for the equine with my own herd of horses.
Horseback riding is available upon request and for an additional fee of $75 per person for a ride.

Our stay at the winery was amazing! Staff was very welcoming and the owners take great pride in their land, I was in absolute awe of their garden and beautiful sunflowers! The wine tasting was phenomenal and we truly enjoyed the homemade dip the owners make. Definitely plan on coming back.

Very much wooded and private as deer roamed by, deep woods vibe with the convience of a hardware store, gas station and grocery store close by. The bay to swim is a 7 minute drive and a stunning beach. Amazing view of the stars and kind hosting. I'll be back

Camping beside the fruit trees and grape vines was magical. The hosts are a lively couple who have put their heart and soul into their property. Time beside the river was nice and cool during the heat of the day. Expect to be self contained if you are camping.

We loved our 4 nights at Taylor's Knoll. She is a very welcoming host and the site was perfect, exactly as described and quiet. Located only 5-10 minutes from Hill's Resort and Luby Bay campground, it was easy for us to spend time at the lake. Highly recommended!

The day we showed up to camp was the same day there were level 3 fire evacuations.
The site was magical until then. Fearful we left at night and slept in our car the next town over. During the day when winds were down we enjoyed the spot thoroughly.

We had a wonderful time camping at the winery, we were able to tent camp right on the water and got to have it all to ourselves. The winery manager Alan was so helpful and made the trip that much better. It was a great 3 days of relaxing, reading and exploring, we will definitely be going back

Such a lovely place to stay. Taylor is an exceptionally generous and thoughtful host. Tons of room to set up your camp, and if you’re by the creek it makes for a lovely lullaby at night. There is a nice portapotty, and there are fairy lights that welcome and guide you at night to your site. Even flowers! So sweet. Tamrak being close by is super convenient. Highly recommend to any families who might want a little more privacy than a state park campsite. Thanks Taylor!

We had a fantastic time at Bearcat Acres! Warner was warm and welcoming, and the land is just beautiful. We were able to hike all over the property and explore, as well as create a nice home base to hang out in. The glen where we set up was both sunny and shady, and the kids loved roasting marshmallows over the firepit. Warner is still making improvements to the property and you can see how much care he has for the land.

We brought our trailer and enjoy the peace and quiet of the setting. We did some wine tasting and enjoyed Bart and Victory’s hospitality. Beautiful area. Would recommend it.

It was so peaceful. You really have to slow down when you get there. Nothing is rushed, even conversation. Such a peaceful beautiful place, took me back growing up with the hippies in the 70's. Cannot say enough about this place. The wines, the foods, the hosts, so wonderful.

We brought our tent trailer and family to stay for a 4 day weekend. The hosts were very welcoming, and the experience was not one to forget. We camped, tasted wine, participated in their Friday evening happy hour, threw rocks in the river with the kids, and overall had a wonderful stay.

Hosts were very welcoming and friendly 🙂 we didn't stay much at camp. As we were out exploring most of the weekend. The fire pit was nice they even gave us wood for the fire. We also booked very last minute on memorial day weekend and host was accommodating. Easy center location for the lake in between both sides.

2 nights at Iron Mountain Ranch
We had the best time at Iron Mountain Ranch. Lindsay was so warm and we felt so welcome. The land is beautiful, and the animals are all so friendly. Everything from the screen house, to the outdoor cooking space, to the bathroom exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely recommend staying here!!

4 nights at Cabin in the woods
Another fantastic visit at the cabin! Bill is an amazing host who goes above and beyond to make sure the cabin is cozy and ready for us. He even went a step further to help us look for a lost item once we were home. His communication is the best!
