Fantastic spot for tent camping! Our site was a beautiful little glen, surrounded by trees, with a babbling brook running at the edge. The ground is flat and mostly level, so it worked well for our 10 person tent. Because of Red Flag conditions, we didn't get to use it, but Warner had a fire pit and wood already at the site. There was a large cable spindle that functioned as a good size table. The site has a little trail that leads back into the woods for a relaxing hike if you want. Warner provides an indoor bathroom and potable water from an artesian well, just yards from the "entrance" to our site. There was even a super friendly cat that would stroll through to say 'Hi' once in awhile. It was a fantastically beautiful and relaxing place to spend a long weekend.

We had a fantastic time at Bearcat Acres! Warner was warm and welcoming, and the land is just beautiful. We were able to hike all over the property and explore, as well as create a nice home base to hang out in. The glen where we set up was both sunny and shady, and the kids loved roasting marshmallows over the firepit. Warner is still making improvements to the property and you can see how much care he has for the land.

Warner and his wife gave me a warm greeting and made sure I was comfortable. I had the property to myself and it was very peaceful. The toilet was in really good condition. Note, they are in the process of fixing the shower so if having a shower is important to you then you might want to check beforehand if the removations are complete.

Warner was an incredibly generous host! There was a miscommunication about the shower and kitchen availability as there has recently been a fire in the cabin, but he made it right. The setting is beautiful, and I slept between the creek and the pond. It was very quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful view of the stars. There is virtually no cell signal at the site, so be sure and save his phone number and directions before you head down the road. Also, the property is on Onion Creek Road, not on Chuckhole Lane, no matter what your map app says. The address number is on the mailbox. I had a lovely stay!

Very quiet, secluded, and beautiful. Loved hearing the creek run all night. The host was great. Made sure we had everything we needed. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Truly a special place to camp.

I just got home from my second stay at Bearcat Acres this year! Warner is an incredible host and has been wonderful to work with. He's quick to respond and happy to help with any issues that may arise.
The location itself is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful grassy area to play on, a nice little creek providing background music and a place to cool off, and miles of hiking trails! You've got your choice of wooded or open-air camping, and the stars at night are absolutely insane. You're far enough away from any light pollution, and can see every star in the sky!
While some of the amenities are still being renovated, what is available is more than enough to make this trip worth it! I love heading to to the covered porch and playing games at the picnic table while the sun sets.
When you book this spot, make sure you bring a friend. You're going to want to share it with someone!
