Please be aware that the site does not have utilities or hook-ups, embracing a rustic getaway experience. It can accommodate two tents and up to 6 people comfortably.
On-site amenities include a firepit, picnic table, trash can, sun umbrella, a buoy, and camp chairs for your enjoyment. Additionally, a honeybucket is available in the parking lot for your convenience. Please note that the boat lift and on-site cabana are not available for camper use. There is no electricity so please be prepared to bring your own lighting. (There is a set of string lights in the tree that we put up for our personal use that requires our solar generator to use. Just a heads up that these aren’t intended to be part of the guest camping experience). Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here!
Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace.

An excellent location between Seattle and Tacoma, with access to freeways, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, the transit center and Puget Sound waterfront parks and trails—all within a nearby two miles.
Enjoy panoramic, serene lake views from the back of the house. Feel free to relax or enjoy a meal at one of the bistro tables on the big patio.
Follow the path that’s embraced by flowering gardens & trees, next to a rock wall that winds gently down the hill. Go pass two fire pits with seating areas, to an archway made of sticks that opens to the expansive open space & lawn. On the left the woods of the vacant lot next door. You’re invited to play fetch with your well behaved dog, or throw a frisbee on the huge grass lawn that sometimes is temporarily flooded during the wet seasons.
To get to the lake shore, keep left, next to the woods, which is my 1/3 portion of the huge open space. Go straight ahead to find my hidden private dock and secluded beach, at the end of a short waterfront trail. During the warmer months, the rowboat, tandem kayak, & 2 paddle boards are kept here, ready to take out fishing or for a tour around the peaceful lake.
Many water birds and other birds call this home. You may spot a great blue heron or crane as they stretch their wings for several minutes soaking up the sun. Or you may see,
osprey and bald eagles soaring overhead before they dive into the lake to swoop up a fish for their next meal.
Spend the day relaxing at the beach with a good book, soaking up the sun, or enjoying a picnic at the picnic table. As the day winds down, gather around fire pit at the beach or one of the fire pits with seating next to the garden path. Or have a camp fire at your site.
Swimming is part of the fun staying here. .
Life jackets are available to use in many sizes. We are installing a slide into the water off the dock this summer! Motorboats aren’t permitted on this lake, so it’s always serene and peaceful.

Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here!
Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace.

An excellent location between Seattle and Tacoma, with access to freeways, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, the transit center and Puget Sound waterfront parks and trails—all within a nearby two miles.
Enjoy panoramic, serene lake views from the back of the house. Feel free to relax or enjoy a meal at one of the bistro tables on the big patio.
Follow the path that’s embraced by flowering gardens & trees, next to a rock wall that winds gently down the hill. Go pass two fire pits with seating areas, to an archway made of sticks that opens to the expansive open space & lawn. On the left the woods of the vacant lot next door. You’re invited to play fetch with your well behaved dog, or throw a frisbee on the huge grass lawn that sometimes is temporarily flooded during the wet seasons.
To get to the lake shore, keep left, next to the woods, which is my 1/3 portion of the huge open space. Go straight ahead to find my hidden private dock and secluded beach, at the end of a short waterfront trail. During the warmer months, the rowboat, tandem kayak, & 2 paddle boards are kept here, ready to take out fishing or for a tour around the peaceful lake.
Many water birds and other birds call this home. You may spot a great blue heron or crane as they stretch their wings for several minutes soaking up the sun. Or you may see,
osprey and bald eagles soaring overhead before they dive into the lake to swoop up a fish for their next meal.
Spend the day relaxing at the beach with a good book, soaking up the sun, or enjoying a picnic at the picnic table. As the day winds down, gather around fire pit at the beach or one of the fire pits with seating next to the garden path. Or have a camp fire at your site.
Swimming is part of the fun staying here. .
Life jackets are available to use in many sizes. We are installing a slide into the water off the dock this summer! Motorboats aren’t permitted on this lake, so it’s always serene and peaceful.

Absolutely an amazing time away from the real world. From walking around on the trails to sitting next to the fire pit, it was great to get away with my dogs. They had a lovely time out, and it was very peaceful and quiet. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway, and we plan on staying again in the future!

Even with the water shut off for the season, everything was easy to manage, and the covered fire pit meant we could still enjoy a fire while it sprinkled most of the trip. Shannon was super helpful and responsive, and we loved being able to wander the property and let the dog run around off-leash. The backdrop of the escarpment is beautiful and makes the place feel extra special.
Honestly, I’m almost hesitant to hype it up too much because I do not want to fight for dates next time. We’ll be back!

We had such a lovely time at Valhalla. The directions were easy to follow and the grounds were gorgeous. We knew it was going to rain the entire weekend we were there but we didn't care. We took beautiful hikes through the woods and it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. They have done a wonderful job making Valhalla a peaceful piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Pipe Lake Cabin
The cabin was larger than I expected! You enter into a large room with the main bed (bedding included), pullout couch, armchair and fireplace. Then there is the kitchen area with a good size dining table. Bathroom is right off the kitchen. No shower but that didn't bother us. Basic amenities for the kitchen is all provided and there are plenty of extra blankets. Just a PSA, your door code will be sent 30 minutes before the check in, we found ourselves worrying as the time got closer and closer!

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm
The cabin at Valhalla once again proved to be a wonderful autumn destination to relax amongst the trees, listen to the babbling stream, soak in the sun atop Look Out Rock and cook up some good food around the campfire. I can't say enough good things about this place, it is really an oasis of calm.

We had a lovely Fall stay this weekend in our little camper. We loved the sounds of the coyote calls through the night. They were quite talkative but it was fun to hear the wildlife around us! My dog really enjoyed having the freedom and space to run and play. The quaint town of Duvall is super close so we enjoyed a beautiful brunch before packing up for home.

Weekend Trip to Pipe Lake Cabin
Perfect for the first stormy weekend of Fall. Lots of reading, listening to the rain & hail! We did get a little sun & got a bit of fishing in. Wonderful & close views of an eagle, sitting right in a tree off the deck.
Pro tip: Shut the door between main room and kitchen. It makes the heater much more efficient. Can't wait to get back in Spring. Charming and peaceful.

Loved the site, will say be on the lookout though on wild animals as we had an overnight visit from some coyotes so keep that in mind for small animals if off leash. Only con is mainly a 1 way road once in property so when we arrived there was another vehicle trying to leave so caused some issues. Overall beautiful and clean worth the trip over!

This spot is so special. Really beautiful clover reaching to cute little lake. Elevated wood platform with bench seat and WORKING gas fire pit. Nice to chill there in eve listening to the birds and frogs. String lights available and working (yay) for ambiance. Very clean porta potty. Water available. Hosts were awesome. We cannot wait to come back and we highly recommend it to all of you.
