We've stayed here multiple times, and each trip is phenomenal. Joel is an excellent host. He's very attentive, helpful, friendly, and his property is pristine. We love catching fish off the dock, paddling, and relaxing in the sun before cooling off in the lake. The neighbors and folks playing on the lake are all kind. The property has kayaks and chaise lounges, so less packing for us! We can't wait to return again someday soon!

Me, the family and our friends really enjoyed camping at this spot. We had a blast in the lake with the kayaks, pedal boat and floaties we brought. The string lights gave lovely ambiance and we got to use some of the provided firewood for camp fires every night. The spot was a little busy as it is next to the boat launch but that didn’t bother us very much. Outhouse was clean. We would recommend this spot!

We had an amazing stay at Better to Wake at the Lake on Tanwax!! We can’t wait to come back! We had all kinds of weather and it was still a blast. The private lakefront setup was peaceful, relaxing and perfect for a getaway. Having our own private dock made it so easy to fish and just enjoy the views & wild life.
The property is perfect for RV and tent camping. It is beautiful and well taken care of. The outdoor restroom was a huge bonus and was cute and very clean.
Even though we didn’t use the kayaks and paddle boat it was so nice to have the option.
Joel was the best to work with and I really appreciate all his communication.
If you’re looking for a private, relaxing lakeside camping experience with great amenities and beautiful views, this place is absolutely worth it!

We had a wonderful time relaxing on this lake front camp spot. Great amenities. Free to use kayaks, pedal boat, games, firewood, picnic tables, and lounge chairs. Clean and private bathroom. We highly recommend and we’ll be back to camp again.

Perfect spot right on a gorgeous lake! Pristine property, private dock, a lake full of fish, and friendly owners. We caught our limits of rainbows from the dock. Evening campfire next to the lake. Everything is here for a vacation full of happy memories.

The spot is a real gem! The lake is pretty and not overly crowded. The property itself is top notch. Having a restroom on site was a special treat.
Host was extremely responsive and helpful. We will be returning.

Our family had a great fall weekend at the lake! Couldn’t have asked for a better site in terms of cleanliness and conveniences. Loved having full hook-ups for our trailer but also a perfect little bathroom too. Kids spent hours in the kayaks (don’t forget your life jackets if you plan to use them) and peddle boat. Even caught a BIG fish right off the dock.
Evenings were blissfully quiet but there was quite a bit of traffic at the adjacent boat launch throughout the day. More of a fun parade of boaters than anything that disturbing.
Highly recommend going the 2 miles to NW Trek for wildlife viewing. Such a cool park!
Overall it was a great stay and Joel was the ideal site host. Hope to be back!

Highly recommend this spot, great for families and larger groups! We had an amazing time out on the water, it had everything you needed. Joel was responsive and very helpful. Will be going back again next year!

What a great spot! We did luck out with beautiful summer weather, which made it even greater. The dock is fantastic. Our dog loved being free. So nice to camp on grass. It is right next to the boat launch, which can be quite busy, but also entertaining.

Joel's property is wonderful! Perfect for our families. Very convenient to have the RV hookups. It's clear this property is well maintained. The kayaks and pedal boat were a big hit with everyone. And we were able to catch and eat a trout right off the dock! Lots of fishing action on the lake over the weekend which was basically built-in entertainment.

Joel’s property is amazing. It is well maintained and kept clean and he provides wonderful amenities such as the dock, kayaks, fire pit and even the bathroom. It felt very inviting. It was great..we saw many different types of birds and really enjoyed watching the bald eagles fish. Joel is a great communicator and had detailed directions and instructions…one of the better hosts we have experienced on HipCamp. Do pay attention to his comments/suggestions about getting level in the two sites as the property does have a gradual slope (as would be expected for a lake property). We look forward to finding an opportunity to stay again.

This was an awesome spot! Right next to the boat launch but was still super private. It was fun to watch the fishers come and go all day. We took a little ride in the kayaks and paddle boat when the sun would break. Great spot for a large group and the bathroom was a game changer !

This is an amazing place to visit. The host Joel is awesome and keeps a very clean property. It was the perfect getaway for our family. I would love to make this a yearly visit. I have nothing negative to say about our trip other then it was over to quick. The dock is beautiful and the fire pit down by the lake was the perfect spot to relax. The onsite bathroom is super clean.

From the start, we could not believe how great the spot was. The location was so cool. Having coffee in the morning, watching the water lilies open up, then at dusk, watching them close again was magical. The dock went out to the lake, and it was so much fun sitting there watching the fishermen come in and hearing them chat about what was biting and what was not. Having an extra bathroom was great too, since our RV only has one. We camped there with a Class A Open Road 32ft and got it leveled out. There was room for our jeep. We ate outside every night and enjoyed seeing an eagle hunt for his dinner. We did not want to leave; it was such a great spot. This was our first time using Hipcamp, and now we are hooked after this great find! Joel was great and had all the info we needed to get in and out of the space.
