If you feel like staying in, enjoy our Mr and Mrs Pacman games in your “mini arcade” or make use of some of the supplied board games or the sudoku/coloring books available. Relax on an iconic Seattle drag bar’s original “lips couch” and grab a book from our queer library with beer available for purchase in your kitchenette.
This is a stand alone structure that is separate from our main house. There is no shower in this dry space, but there is a camping sink that functions like a normal kitchen sink with hot water capacity. The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, “Ms Pacman's Backyard Glampsite” is a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, so don’t bob your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows available. Everything is washed with free and clear laundry detergent for any sensitivities.
We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove with pots and pans for light cooking, coffee making supplies (reusable keurig pods or pour over coffee along with creamers and sugars), wine openers, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors.
You will be one block away from Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. Less than a mile north, you can explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. Only two blocks south of the property is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has a microbrewery, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, a plant store, and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.

We have an acre of land with an orchard, grapes, blueberries, raspberries, tons of flowers and peace and quiet except for some traffic on Veazie Cumberland Rd. There is a tree farm across the street from the campsite and a blueberry farm across Veazie. Picking time for blueberries is end of July into August. Deep lake is four miles from our house as well as Kanaskit State Park with a river. Mt Rainier is about 45 minutes away. Mt Peak, 1000 ft hike, is 4 miles toward Enumclaw from us.

-You are welcome to wander around the entire property and grab fruit daily from the trees when in season or have us get you farm fresh eggs from the coop to eat for breakfast.
-Say hello to the animals (sheep, goats, chickens, piggy, cats and dogs) or go for a walk/run around the countryside roads with walking/running/biking adventures available to you along the beautiful and paved Foothills Trail extending 21 miles from Buckley to Puyallup.
-Communal fire pit areas with picnic table and chairs available when fire ban is not in effect. There is one close to the communal kitchen area, one closer to the field by the barn, and we have a moveable metal one which we can transport to your camp spot if preferred. We sell a milkcrate full of wood for $10 if needed.

A little about Orting - Nestled in the foothills of Mt Rainier between the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers, Orting is a quaint Turn-of-the-Century village that you will not forget.
The town center is anchored by three parks filled with giant maples and evergreens. You will be awed by the view of Mt. Rainier from Washington Avenue.
The levees on the east and west sides of town are perfect for hikes along the rivers. The 20 mile Foothills Trail meanders right through the middle of town and then takes you along the Carbon River levee. Bike, walk, take the stroller and the family pet. Enjoy the turn-of-the-century architecture of downtown and eat at one of the 15 restaurants.
If your timing is right you can take part in the Daffodil festival and parade the first Saturday of April. The Kingsmen Car show comes to town the third Saturday in June. Then there is the Pumpkin festival the second weekend of October. Finally the year is capped off with the Christmas festival throughout December. Then there are the many foot and bike races that take place on the foothills trail throughout the year.

7.5x15.5' (cozy): Comfy convertible bed/couch complete with linens, a small table with 2 chairs for playing games and eating, puzzles, games, snacks, hot water kettle, coffee maker, bluetooth speaker, electric fireplace, books, sketchpad with colored pencils, and more!
A rustic wooden floor (with some paint splatters) and a braided rug give you a feeling of comfort and home.
On site we have a private portable bathroom complete with hand-washing station, and an outside combination fire pit and charcoal barbecue with a grill top and s’mores sticks provided so you can cook over a wood fire or coals!
And an outdoor table and chairs that are super comfortable!
The house itself is heated, insulated, and has working electricity/outlets for computer or phone charger.
Clean bedding and pillows provided, washed in fragrance-free detergent between each guest.
We provide a full water jug with spigot, hot water kettle, teapot, assorted teas and 2 mugs.
Private area of the yard with plenty of room to relax.
We have a disc golf goal and discs to use as well.
Firewood is available for purchase onsite for $10/milk crate full. This comes with a kindling kit. Territorial views of the tree line and sunset views to die for! We are located near Meigs Park as well as a 10-minute walk from Manitou beach and an easy bike ride to the ferry that goes to Seattle!

NEED TO KNOW (managing expectations):A note on the bathroom: the hobbit hole is small and will not fit a bathroom or plumbing. Your nearby private portable restroom is cleaned thoroughly between each guest and serviced (pumped out) weekly.
We consider our listing to be “glamping”. Also our property borders a local 2 lane highway and you can expect road noise mostly during the day and evening.
While it is a private setting you can expect to hear the road.
Weekends and evenings it is quieter, and when the door is closed it is quiet.
The Hobbit House is suitable for 2 guests or 2 adults and a small child that can share the bed.
The bed is a queen size, and we can't allow sleeping on the floor as the door opens inwards and is a safety concern.
However, additional guests are welcome to bring a tent and camp outside, for $20/tent, up to 6 additional guests or 2 tents, whichever is smaller.
Let me know when you are booking that you'd like to bring additional guests and we will adjust the costs accordingly.

Lawnacres is a 20 acre farm that focuses on enhancing wellbeing through the presence of horses and nature. The Bunky itself is a converted horse stall in one of the barns on the property.
The glamping space is approximately 10x12, with a queen size log bed and wide rustic cedar plank flooring. The “stall” to the north houses an outdoor shower and sauna. It’s about a 30 foot walk to the outhouse.
The stalls to the south are usually used by horses during the day, but they sleep in a different barn at night.
Guests are free to amble about the acreage, which has a stream, a wooded path and some wide open meadow.

Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. 3 sisters and our brother in law decided we wanted to make a place where people can enjoy the Northwest that we grew up in. It doesn't matter if you bring your own tent, drive an rv, or rent the luxury tent, the great outdoors is there for all to enjoy!
We have great places to pitch your own tent and enjoy the rustic pleasures just being outdoors. The sites are rustic and access to trails are nearby. We also have a wonderful covered outdoor kitchen with propane grill, microwave, and coffee pot. A safe place to gather with family.
Bring your RV and park and have a large site to yourself. You have room to spread out your awning without hitting the next vehicle. Each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. Also if you are in the mood you have a covered kitchen to meet and mingle with other guests. We also have a big screen tv in the kitchen so you don't miss the Seahawks games.

Our guests love staying here "This site has absolutely everything you need. You'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but I think that was the only things I noticed I'd want. They even had firewood for us, no extra charge! David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. Seems like it would be a lovely place to stay in the winter, so thats when I'd like to come back! 5 stars all the way for everything here, the thoughtfulness of the cabins, the cleanliness, the readily available kitchen and the hospitality. You NEED to check this place out."

Dont know where to start on how amazing my stay on Alison’s property was! She was very quick with responding and helped me quickly with adjusting my accommodation, when I arrived she made everything clear on where everything around the property was. Enjoyed the quietness and trots of the horses around the barn was a spectacular experience. Sauna was amazing and coming back late from a night hike, showering under the starts was magical. 100% enjoyed every bit of Alison’s barn and definitely recommend and will be visiting again :))

Cool little cabin! Exactly as pictured, nothing like waking up to a local playing violin across the lake, and looking into the water off the dock and seeing all the fish swimming around, will definitely book again but next time I’m gonna bring a little fishing pole!

Weekend Trip to Simple Roots Ranch
We had a lovely time at Sharon and Dave’s potting shed. We got to walk the lovely walking trails, the cooking area had everything we could need, they provided a hammock for lounging and corn-hole, as well as some outdoor swings. The cabin was clean and perfectly spaced for 2-3 people. Would highly recommend and definitely come again!

I’ve stayed at different sites at Cedar River Retreat on several occasions and enjoyed my stay every single time.
Brittany is a pro and seems to just know how to make our stay comfy and homey. Everything is obviously well thought out, from the great value extras available, to her responsiveness; we feel at ease and relaxed. Not common for a property just 45 minutes from Seattle. Oh, and the cabin has a new little handy pump (?) sink next to the composting toilet! The firewood available for purchase on site, the other amenities, and the useful extras available for purchase, have us looking forward to our next Cedar River Retreat always. Thanks, Brittany!

Loved this spot! I wish I could have stayed longer. The hosts are so welcoming and there’s so much to explore on the property. Clearly so much care went into this space. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and it was so cozy. Fell asleep to the sound of frogs and owls.

We absolutely loved our stay at Alison's farm!! How creative the design of the Bunky and farm layout is! Sauna and outdoor shower were fantastic as well! We were so welcomed by the humans, animals, and natural landscape of the farm that is was hard to leave! Alison and the team practice the beautiful philosophy of consent with the animals (only touching when the animals would like to interact). How wonderful to experience this harmony between humans and animals. We would absolutely recommend this stay to all fellow animal/nature adventurers!

Weekend Trip to Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island
It was a wonderful quiet peaceful retreat. We didn't do much of anything except enjoy a beautiful view, have warm bare feet finally! and enjoy each other's company.
We will return in a more adventurous time.
Fred was a wonderful host & yes, the brownies are good, especially with a cup of mint tea before bed!

I needed a quiet place to work on a creative project for a weekend and this was perfect. The hosts met me, answered all my questions and made sure I what I needed (water, an electric kettle, an aero press and instructions for the sauna. She even lent me contact solution.) The bed is super comfortable and kept me warm even when temps dipped into the 30s Was fun to hear the donkeys and horse pals wake up in the morning but it was quiet at night. And the hot shower and sauna were dreamy. I kept thinking that this would be such an ideal stop on a bike tour. Def recommend
