Dean’s Campground

14 sites · RVs, Tents11 acres · Auburn, WA
We are located in Auburn, Washington 3 minutes off Highway 18. Our location is ideal for those commuting between national parks, from the US / CA border, or a quick overnight to get away from the city. Bears, bobcats, coyotes and more frequent the property. Largely untouched by humans for the last 50 years (after a once-over by Weyerhaeuser), most of the property still serves as an unofficial refuge. We are bordered by King County protected wetlands, backed by a few newer builds, and not super stoked on the new multi-million dollar neighborhood in construction on the other property line. Our history - In 1975 Dean and Barbara Inabnit purchased 11 undeveloped acres from Weyerhaeuser. Dean’s plan to bring two manufactured homes to the property was only shortly delayed by a $20,000 bid per house to have the Coast Guard airlift the houses into place. The only option, it seemed. Dean took his $40,000 and purchased a bulldozer and tractor. Weyerhaeuser granted Dean permission to widen well over 2 miles of a county access road through the forest from the direction of the nearby fire station. He drug the homes through his temporary driveway and finally in 1978, the houses were hooked up to water, sewer, and power. They moved in. He spent the next few years building a logging road as his main drive from Auburn-Black Diamond, sourcing all materials from the land. Dean and Barbara finished raising their family here, and for a while, their grandchildren enjoyed the land, too. Dean is 82 years old. His children and grandchildren return every so often as guests at the campground. As a father / daughter team willing and able to tackle projects, we purchased this property in 2020. Our purchase allowed Dean to relax and retire to the Centralia area with family. We bought his bulldozer and his tractor, and he and his family are happy to know we are continuing their hard work.

The Landing at Index WA

8 sites · RVs, Tents16 acres · Index, WA
Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. The campsite is at the bottom of a rugged drive so an SUV or AWD vehicle are recommended, especially during the wetter seasons of Spring and Fall. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy lagoon along the beach. The Department of Fish and Game have a fish ladder at Sunset Falls just upstream and BNSF railroad owns the large vacant tract down stream.A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing.Pets are welcome, there is a toilet on site campfires allowed (when burn bans are not in place).

Curley Creek Canyon

7 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Port Orchard, WA
Forest camping on a huckleberry farm with a salmon stream. 10 acres of permaculture and mycology includes 5 granite fire pits and loop trails with dispersed tent sites. A remote island, naturist beach and kayak at the creek. Parking is limited. Guests love it here: "We stayed two nights at Curley Creek Canyon and loved the experience! Jerrett was a wonderful host and met us upon arrival with great recommendations of places to explore on his beautiful property. The camp sites are clean, private, and have fire pits, and benches provided. We took the roped trail down to the creek (bring gloves its a bit steep) and saw large groups of salmon swim upstream. This time of year is magical with the dropping leafs and lush moss/fungus sightings. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick getaway from the city to connect to nature. Thanks, Jerrett for the experience and look forward to our next visit!"

Slippery Creek

2 sites · RVs, Tents4 acres · Greenwater, WA
Learn more about this land: Slippery Creek is available year around. Located 30 mins out of Enumclaw and 45 mins to Crystal Mountain ski resort and 1 hr to Paradise Mt. Rainier. SlipperyCreek sits on 4 acres of old growth forest and has a creek that runs along side it. The crystal clear creek is clean enough to drink from and runs cold even in August…. But I swim in it anyways. SlipperyCreek has many cool projects in mind for creating a place to camp, so if after your stay. If you want to come back and take on a project I’ll knock off 50% on your stay plus I could also be talked into BBQ hamburgers if your bring the Salid. The project list: Build fire pits, trail maintenance and building, Tent platforms, outdoor shower and ambiance lighting. SlipperyCreek has two camping areas: The Forest sight has un-level ground and plenty of room for a trailer, good tent camping area can be found, Oh ya….. Hammock camper this back area has giant trees….. just assume lay down and looking up 200 ft and the trees disappear. Hammock campers please note hammocks will be required to use straps vs rope. This Forest sites sits back 200 ft from the creek so if you have little people… You will also find a dried up creek bed to explore. The max turn around length is 30ft. This could also be a group camp site… 1 or 2 trailers and 3-5 tents, but you need to call to make these arrangements. The River Beach: This spot has a rock pad that can handle 30 ft RVs, or two smaller trailers / camper vans. This site is still being developed, and you can hear car traffic but it’s on the river so the noise just white washes away. This spot gets good sunlight even though the tree line surrounds this area. This site currently lacks an area for a square tent , but narrow two person is fine . This spot has some great places to meditate or just lounge in the bean bag hut next to the river. More about the property…… I just dare you to take the plunge…. It only a little chilly. Make sure you keep your eyes open when walking the river because you can find petrified wood. Sam my daughter is one of those crafty people so look around for painted rocks., she leaves them all over the property. Please only 1 rock per kid… including the big kids too. Upon arrival you will find an upper driveway ( my place) and a lower ( please honk and let others and myself know your here) the river beach sites is on the left side. The Forest site is down the road and around the corner..

Garden Zen Camping

5 sites · Tents2 acres · Puyallup, WA
Our house sits in the middle of 2 acres surrounded by trees and a creek that runs through our backyard. There are 8 kinds of fruit trees, 4 kinds of berries, a vegetable garden, flower gardens and shrubs, rose bushes and more flowering here during the spring, summer and fall months. The yard is covered with soft green grass, the perfect place to lay back and soak up some sun or sit under a shade tree. Which ever you prefer! Fishing the creek is also a nice laid back activity, the best spot being under the bridge on the left side of the yard. The creek is home to 3 kinds of salmon hatcheries up stream at clarks creek park and dog park. If you are feeling adventurous, you can float from the park back to our house. We have seen people on tubes, in kyayachs, on paddle boards and rafts come through! We haven't yet ourselves but plan to this year! It's not a very fast moving creek but it does ok. It is pretty shallow in some areas but over 6ft deep in others. We are pretty lucky to have an area that is over 6ft deep in several areas but also has shallow areas too! Learn more about this land: Coming to fish the salmon on the Puyallup River, visit the area or just want to camp?! Pitch a tent in our 420 friendly backyard, located 1 mile from the most favored spot to throw your line in and catch a variety of fish. Grass sites, huge shade trees with running creek to help keep you cool or if you prefer an open sunny area we have those too. Pitch your tent anywhere you like. We are by the train tracks, so if you are a light sleeper this may not be your cup of tea.  Parking is limited, so we will offer rides to and from the river if you can park off site. There is a few spots across the street from us also. Pack out what you pack in. Barbecue available for use, propane fires allowed during burn bans otherwise open fires are allowed. There is a charging station for your devices and a place to clean fish.  You can bird watch here for hours, or watch the ducks and geese swim up and down the creek and if your really lucky you will see river otters swim up and down the creek too! They are pretty cool to see!  We have outdoor toys and bikes for kids and volleyball, horseshoes, large dice, large scrabble, large jenga and more for all ages.  Fishing not permitted on property but there are a lot of spots to go nearby.  Showers are available upon request but are limited. Carrie's Creatures Animal Rescue

5 sites · Tents1 acre · Enumclaw, WA
STOP! PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING!!!! Do not book here if you are looking for nature, we are a full-blown Red Neck Retreat. We are a small animal rescue that homes over 30 animals, as of August 2023 we have free range animals including, 4 bunnies, one guinea pig, 15 or so cats, 2 dogs, 17 chickens and 1 rooster, and 4 goats that will roam the property a few hours a day. This is a place where animals can come and be as free as possible, so they will lounge in all the camp sites as you are camping in their home. We are changing the way we do things as Carrie's Creatures Camping. There is now only one campsite, you are able to rent out the entire camp and choose where to put your tents, choose the big bonfire pit or chose one of 6 spots to build a fire. Large groups encouraged up to 20 people and an additional 10 people at an extra charge. There is NO flat parking for car/trailer camping. Parking will only accommodate 5 cars on property and a very tight turn around, so please keep this in mind when carpooling. I am tired of judgmental ass hats coming into my space and making me feel bad about myself and my space. LOOK at every picture and READ every review and my responses before deciding to stay on my property. I have spent a lot of time creating a very particular vibe in my space and would love to share it with LIKE-MINDED individuals. If you have the spirit of judgment on your back, please do not come into my sacred space and bring your negativity. Think Vlad the Impaler mixed with Cottage Core. We want a loving and open place where you can leave your adult standards at the gate. Open your mind to the wonder and amazement of being a child again. Find hidden treasure, have sword fights in the pool while watching all the Disney classics on VHS on our wonderfully redneck projector while enjoying a bonfire with your friends. We can provide a ride to the White River Ampitheater for those wanting a safe way to and from the concerts for up to 3 people per fee! Small plot of land with quite a few fire pits and tent areas, goats for petting and playing, come relax in the hammock area, close to Mt Rainier, lots of hiking and fun activities. Gate is now locked at all times and the gate code will be given upon arrival. Please let the host know an ETA for check in so that a prompt entrance can be achieved. ONCE YOU BOOK!!! Please message me the names of the people in your party and when to expect you so I can plan my days accordingly! Please be kind and respectful!
