My parents both grew up on the southside of Chicago - where having a tree in your yard meant that you had "made it". They decided to use the land to grow Christmas trees. This did not last long :) but the saplings my dad planted by hand are still here & maybe 70' tall! We had a wonderful time over at Main House RV 1 Harris hideaway. Dewitt was very accommodating and friendly. Had a wonderful chat with him when we arrived. He was kind enough to set up the spot for two campsites, one for me and my buddy, who also had a camper. Very responsive to our questions. The campsite was beautiful, and we went exploring over at the creek bed where he made some trails to get to it. Nice and easy walk to it. 10/10 would do again. There was no light pollution at all so we could see every star in the sky during our stay. The place was nice and quiet. It was a very relaxing stay. Thank you again Dewitt!

Weekend Trip to 2nd40 to 420 - The Farm

My husband and I planned a nice quiet weekend and happened to be apart of a great event supporting Veterans. We have already decided to come again next year but will also go when we can enjoy the beauty of the farm and trails. Was able to quickly walk through trails but have great quiet spaces to listen to nature and ground yourself. Thank you Amy for being a great host even with the chaos.

The site was beautiful, with lots of quiet open space. There are railroad tracks close by but we only heard a train twice all weekend. There was also a golden retriever that adopted himself into our camp but he was sweet (as long as you keep your trash out of reach lol) and got along with our puppy great. Stephanie was awesome and attentive as well, answered any questions I had quickly and clearly. It's a great little spot!

Weekend Trip to Camping at Cloverdale Farms

What a charming and peaceful property! They have the sweetest animals and a beautiful garden. It was nice to have a restroom and shower nearby. Great spacious camp site. We really appreciated the canopy that was set up for us because the sun was hot during the day, and there was plenty of firewood available to keep us warm at night. Karen made us feel so welcome and made sure we had everything we needed, including jumper cables when one of our cars wouldn’t start. AMAZING spot for stargazing!

What a beautiful spot. We were lucky that our site was close to the access road, some of the sites are better accessed by cars with more ground clearance. Charles showed us two spots to get water and directed us to the Portopotty. The site was clean and had a firepit as well as a picnic table. The views of the water were beautiful. Loud site neighbors were our only downside, but that’s not a permanent feature! We hope to come back next year.
