Off the grid! Reset! Recharge! Wildlife paradise! Come stay in the middle of a 212-acre estate. The camping site is set up with fire pit, electric and water hook up, easy access in/out. There is a laundry room privately accessible in the 100-year-old home place. There are endless views of peace and serenity. If fortunate enough you may possibly see a bear, deer, coyote, various bird species…There are trails for hiking, horseback riding, off road vehicles or trailblazing some of your own. We are in the heart of Virginia. We are less than 20 minutes away from historic Farmville, Appomattox, and Pamplin. We are about an hour away from Charlottesville, Richmond, Lynchburg, Bedford, and Petersburg. You go east you are at the beach; west you are in the mountains. There is something for everyone to enjoy and experience close by. Few of our favorites to visit: Endless choice of wineries in Charlottesville and the Blue Ridge Mountains Brew Ridge Trail through Nelson County Appomattox where you can go back in time to 1865 at the surrender grounds what was a pivotal moment in American history that effectively ended the American Civil War. Virginia is also rich in history and has the most presidential homes to visit in the United States

Main House RV 1

We had a wonderful time over at Main House RV 1 Harris hideaway. Dewitt was very accommodating and friendly. Had a wonderful chat with him when we arrived. He was kind enough to set up the spot for two campsites, one for me and my buddy, who also had a camper. Very responsive to our questions. The campsite was beautiful, and we went exploring over at the creek bed where he made some trails to get to it. Nice and easy walk to it. 10/10 would do again. There was no light pollution at all so we could see every star in the sky during our stay. The place was nice and quiet. It was a very relaxing stay. Thank you again Dewitt!

Do you want pace and quiet for with good ol fashion southern hospitality. Mr. Dewitt is an awesome guy. We had amazing time, walked the trails to the creek then took the trails to the main entrance, didn’t see one car nor heard anything except nature. Will be booking again!
