In the town of Wakefield you’ll find gas stations, dollar stores, a Value food market and if you want (to go) food we have that also. Plus it’s home to The Virginia Diner. Twenty plus years ago, there was an ad in the paper listing ten acres for sale in Old Church. It has always been a special place and so the adventure began... Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. The Pamunkey people have been here for over 10,000 years making this area one of the oldest reservations in the country.
We have a small platform sitting right on the water for privacy and beautiful views of the river. You may see Bald Eagles, Grey Herons, Ducks, Geese, River Otters, and so much more. During low tide, the water is pulled back into the main part of the river and this is where you will see the wildlife during this time. There are up to 8 Bald Eagles here at a time and during the Spring to Fall, you will see Osprey hunting for food right in front of you and usually getting chased by the Eagles. What an awesome site to be able to camp and be a part of so many creatures all in their natural habitat.
We live right up the hill. Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home. Usually you cannot but want you to be aware. When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest.
During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land. Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak.
There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.
Please note that hunting season starts in October, and you may hear the noise.

We live right up the hill. Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home. Usually you cannot but want you to be aware. When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest.
During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land. Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak.
There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.
Please note that hunting season starts in October, and you may hear the noise.

A small, shed cottage turned into a room with a full-sized bed and mini fridge with a microwave, toaster, and coffee machine, a table with chairs to eat at. Portions of the historic Three Chopt Trail, a Native American trail, run through a large portion of the county. The trail was marked by three hatchet chops in trees to show the way. The modern-day U.S. Route 250 roughly follows this route from Richmond to Charlottesville.

My partner and I had such an amazing 2 night trip. The bed was super comfy and the cabin was really unique with a modern flare, yet warm and cozy inside. Susan was quick to respond for confirming the booking. This was my second stay at Peace Hill and I had a wonderful time. I stayed at Site 3 and it is very flat and close to the Lafayette Hall where there are bathrooms with showers and a kitchen. The site faces the owners main house and horse ring. If you want more privacy, pick the sites on the other side of the Lafayette Hall. I loved walking the property and visiting the farm animals!

We absolutely loved our stay at this Hipcamp spot last week! It was the perfect retreat—so cute and cozy, and truly had all the amenities a weary traveler could possibly need.
I was especially impressed by how conscientious and thoughtful the host was throughout our stay. For instance, the space was efficiently designed with plenty of hooks for hanging items, which is essential in a small space. We were also very grateful that she provided snacks and small bites to eat after our long drive, and she was incredibly communicative and fast at responding to any questions we had.
As a pet owner, I was also appreciative that the space was pet-friendly, allowing my dog, Biscuit, to join us on the trip. I sincerely hope to stay again sometime soon, perhaps when the weather is a bit nicer! Highly recommend this wonderful spot.

Peace Hill is a beautiful working farm which provided plenty of level space to camp. There is plenty of room to load and unload tow vehicles. The generous permission to use the community center kitchen and bath were outstanding perks. For bicycle enthusiasts, its proximity to the Capital Bike Trail Charles City Parking area was a bonus. For tourists, it is close to Jamestown and Williamsburg. I loved watching the exercising of the horses. The friendly waves of those feeding the farm animals made me feel welcome. Susan was very accommodating when I had to leave early due to snow. I will definitely revisit this site when in the area.
FYI: I found it best to put Peace Hill Fellowship in when goggling directions so I wouldn't end up at the Bed & Breakfast.

This was such a cool skoolie! I surprised my son with an "adventure" on our way home from FL. This was a hit! Cozy. Nice land. I saw a family of 11 deer! And my little dog loved the nature walk. Nice warm bathroom at the house. Private, clean and warm.
I think we loved the little wood-burning stove the best! My son (22) slept in the bedroom which was like a quiet cocoon. I slept on the pullout couch which was way bigger than I expected and mostly comfortable. Everything was easy to use, especially with the handy "welcome" booklet. I would definitely stay again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was exactly what I was looking. Peace and quiet (except for the thousands of geese, but their ruckus was peaceful as well). Allyn and Duane were wonderful hosts, ensuring I had everything I needed and the privacy I desired. There was a burn ban issued two days before my arrival and they graciously supplied me with charcoal and even a little charcoal grill! The sunsets were beautiful, the night sky amazing and the eagle sightings were plentiful! Bring binoculars if you come. You'll get amazing views. All in all, a wonderful trip and I plan on coming annually for the foreseeable future. Thanks Allyn and Duane!

What a charming and peaceful property! They have the sweetest animals and a beautiful garden. It was nice to have a restroom and shower nearby. Great spacious camp site. We really appreciated the canopy that was set up for us because the sun was hot during the day, and there was plenty of firewood available to keep us warm at night. Karen made us feel so welcome and made sure we had everything we needed, including jumper cables when one of our cars wouldn’t start. AMAZING spot for stargazing!
