We arrived a little late and had requested a late checkin when booking. Fritz was great! He communicated promptly and was there to walk us to our site, even offering to bring us firewood. Restrooms were clean.

Swedish Lilac was a great spot to stay close to Lexington. Facilities are nice and clean. The campground is right next to the river. Fritz is a great host and really wants to make sure you have a great stay.

Our 4 nights at Swedish Lilac was lovely. Fritz was so nice and the perfect host. The community of other campers was sweet and we made some friends that we really enjoyed talking with. The bathrooms were clean and the campground was quiet. It was perfect place for us to spend a few days this fall.

Great spacious camp site, overlooking a river and an easy driving distance to Lexington and the blueridge mountains. Campground was well kept and the facilities were very nice. Firewood was provided which made for a magical experience grilling smores by the fire

Valerie and Fritz were the most accomadating hosts! They were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The campground sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains. Bathrooms were clean, electric and water sites fuctioned as needed. The wifi in spot RV-9 was super fast and very reliable. The sites weren't super private but there was plenty of space between sites. Lastly, our dogs loved the fenced in area purpose built for them!

The directions were spot on, even leading to the exact site. There was plenty of room between sites. Billy was a warm and friendly person and certainly made you feel very welcome. I will want to camp there again

Beautiful spot!!! Nice creeks runs along the campground.
Bathroom, showers and grounds very clean.
Host super nice, accommodating, and informative.
If we decide to come to this area again we will definitely stay there again!

I recently took my uncle for his "once in a lifetime" train ride in Goshen and had also mentioned camping. A recent health issue could limit his ability to do this much longer and I decided to book a site here, later learning there were also train tracks and occasional trains going by to sweeten the deal. It ended up being a perfect little getaway with wonderful hosts and beautiful property. Sites are well kept, there is lots of firewood available and immaculate bathing facilities. There were quite a few others there as well but everyone kept to themselves while also being friendly. On our last day and as we were leaving, I took my uncle down to the rock beach and he could have stayed there all day. We have decided to come back very soon and I can't wait!

It was a small campground., which we like. The owners were very friendly. It is beside a creek. The railroad tracks are very close, but not a lot of trains. We would go back to it.

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful location right along a large creek. The Wi-Fi works great. It’s flat and open with nice shade trees making it easy to getting the camper in and out easily. There are a lot of walnut trees so watch your step, haha! The owner cut us some firewood and let us park our camper out of the way to explore the creek a bit more the day of our checkout. There is a fenced off portion for dogs to use the bathroom off leash (small dogs can escape through some of the smaller openings, haha). There is a railroad track on the other side of the creek and we did hear the train once, but it wasn’t bothersome at all!! Also, some might want to know that there is a shooting range nearby (not within sight) and we could hear some shooting but it didn’t take away from our experience at all. I would absolutely stay here again and I would highly recommend it!

I would highly recommend Billyville to other Hip campers. Our Host Billy was very quick to respond in messages from the very start. Upon arrival, we were greeted friendly and felt welcomed.
The site is very quiet. We really enjoyed the serenity of an evening fire under the starlit sky.
Billy had got our fire ready to light. All we had to do was light it. Very nice.
The entrance is down a one lane road. Well maintained. Very easy to navigate. We have a 31 foot 5th wheel (13’ high), and had no problems getting in. Billy met us and guided us into our spot. It is a big pull thru.
The site is grassy. Not muddy. Easy to level. Set up with a fire ring, a picnic table, and two Adirondack chairs. There is a 30 amp plug. We have 2 dogs. And was surprised to hear Billy had just finished creating a dog run.
On the property is the Bandshell. Where Billy puts on concerts with other talented musicians. So it being Labor Day weekend, we got to enjoy a concert.
If you’re looking for a very quiet place to stay, this is it.

The campsites were fantastic. Water pressure was wonderful. 30 and 50 amp hook ups beautiful bathhouse. Trails to explore for Miles. Wonderful access to a nice shallow spot on the James River. Great for swimming, putting in your kayak or tube. You will also notice the remnants of a larger infrastructure that was once a private school campus.
