The James River is 20 minutes away which offers canoeing and kayaking. 5 miles south of the campground is Bedford which has food, shopping and historical attractions. Wineries, orchards and national forest are just minutes away.

Starting December 1, or first night below freezing we will be closing down Bath House and only access will be at outhouses. Only sites near outhouses will be open and there will be no access to water. Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky. We want to share our property with those who want to stay for more than one night, so we do not accept inquiries of single night stays.

This property was once a 300 acre plus tobacco farm. We are located within two miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian trail via a gated, public, forest road. Hikers should park at their campsite and walk up. The original log cabin was built in the 1850s and now serves as our dining room. The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s. We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants. Learn more about this land: Heavily wooded mountain side with flowing creek. Easy access (walking distance) to Jefferson National Forest, National Forest horse trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail. (Note: You cannot drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the path is an old forest road which has been gated, but you can walk up to it.)  We also have a tree house which has AC, heat and electrical connection.     You may camp anywhere on the property.  There is plenty of frontage on the creek and several tents can go up there. Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail). The property owner (my dad, who is in his mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives in a log home that is across the field on the adjacent property. He is probably going to stop by to say hi. This property was once a 300 acre plus tobacco farm. We are located within two miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian trail via a gated, public, forest road. Hikers should park at their campsite and walk up. The original log cabin was built in the 1850s and now serves as our dining room. The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s. We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants. Easy access (walking distance) to Jefferson National Forest, National Forest horse trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail. (Note: You cannot drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the path is an old forest road which has been gated, but you can walk up to it.)  We also have a tree house which has AC, heat and electrical connection.     You may camp anywhere on the property.  There is plenty of frontage on the creek and several tents can go up there. We bought a farm and started learning about farming in 2020 after a good friend of ours passed away from cancer and we started talking through what it would look like to try something we've always wanted to try. We knew nothing about it previously so welcome to our adventure! There are a lot of camping spots on our property and you can choose anywhere you'd like. The top of our ridge called "soil road" used to be the main traveling path back in the settler days. The house at the bottom of our driveway used to be the towns post office, and there is a cave back on the creek where soldiers during the civil war camped out in. We are a working farm during the day so if you choose to walk down the ridge you'll find outside working with the animals or in the flower or produce garden. There is a lot of great fishing in the creek so make sure to bring your rod! We love pets so yours are welcome, and there are a lot of hiking trails and cute towns around us. Learn more about this land: A quiet very private experience on a farm with 180 Blue Ridge Mountain views on top of the ridge or walk down our trail to camp and trout fish on Rock Castle Creek. With clear stars, fireflies everywhere, and a cozy fire, what more could you ask for? Our whole 54 acres is yours to explore during the day to swim in the creek, see our farm animals or take a quick drive to the many surrounding lakes, hiking trails and local towns. Any type of camping set up is welcome from truck tent set ups to converted vans to on the ground camping. The top of our hill is flat so it can accommodate any set up except huge RV's!

101 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by over 2 miles of cleared roads throughout the property, which are perfect for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a very small creek, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature. Each of the 3 sites is hundreds of yards away from each other. Note: there is no bathroom on the premises, however you can book a toilet tent as an extra. 4 Wheel Drive or All wheel drive are helpful during the winter months if there has been a lot of rain or snow/ice. Things to watch out for are deer ticks and poison ivy. Campers are expected to leave the site neat and take all their trash with them. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. Also, check out the Draper Mountain overlook on Rt 11, just 10 minutes from our HipCamp. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, Bigfoot sitings as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.

Our trip back home from GA to WV had a lot of traffic delays and the weather was turning much colder than expected, so we decided to power through and drive straight home. But since this was right on the way home, we decided to stop and check out the site. It's a beautiful spot with trees on three sides, so there's less wind. The site is primitive but well maintained with two nice picnic benches and a good fire pit. Communication was great. We will be back!

I wish we could’ve stayed longer! We were running behind schedule and arrived after dark, then had to leave before sunrise, so we didn’t get to take in the views. But the signs and string lights guiding us into the campground were such a welcoming sight after a long day on the road and pulling in so late. We’ll definitely be back to enjoy the campground properly!

rivers edge trail was beautiful! the site was clean, easy to find and the views were gorgeous. hookups were straight forward and full service, which we appreciated. there is a bit of junk around and there’s a house very close, so not private, but it looks like they’re still building the sites so we didn’t mind. we will definitely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Infinity Acres Ranch
We absolutely loved camping at Infinity Acres! We were a party of 7. 4 adults and 1 kid in our 27ft class C RV, and then 1 adult and 2 kids in a tent. There was plenty of space for camping and hanging out, enjoying the fire pit. We cooked 3 meals over the fire, including some Bass that we caught in the lake! We are novice fisherman, so Rick even helped the kids getting the poles set up and giving advice on bait. Our RV is a 27ft Minnie Winnie, 13ft clearance, and barely fit into the spot. Laura came to greet us and we actually had to trim a couple of branches to be able to fit, but she was kind and helpful and we made it work no problem. The kids absolutely loved watching all of the animals. We took a few hikes through the woods and made our way to "Narnia". And the fishing pond was great. Our oldest son caught his biggest fish! The views were great, so much foliage, and the property sits atop a hill so you've got quite a bit of visibility. We will absolutely stay here again, both kids and adults had a great time at Laura's place!

The Retreat at Mayberry Creek is 4.5 acres and the site is perched on a rock bluff overlooking Mayberry Creek in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We have been traveling the country full time for almost 4 years and were in need of a homebase. The Retreat had everything we needed, minus the house. Over the past few years, The Retreat has been a peaceful, relaxing sanctuary for us, no matter the season. We wanted to share The Retreat with other outdoor enthusiasts, because it’s just that magical.Onsite we have hiking/mountain biking trails, multiple fire pits, and a deck overlooking Mayberry Creek which runs through the center of the property. You can enjoy splashing around and exploring the creek or just relax and listen to the water cascade down the rocks. Located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will only be a short drive to Rocky Knob Recreation Area for sightseeing/hiking, Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant, and Mount Airy for a trip back in history.  Everything you need for the perfect secluded getaway.
