There is a medium pond in the back for swimming, a large fire pit for fires and but the Hip Shack comes with its own fire pit/grill combo. Wood bundle's are also available. There is a rudimentary outdoor toilet and shower. The shower can be filled with hot water using the faucet by the garage. All water from hoses, pump hoses and faucets is the same drinkable well water, collected from the many underground springs that also feed into the pond.

At night, the futon folds into a double bed that comfortably sleeps two. There are lamps upstairs and downstairs, as well as plenty of outlets to charge your devices for the next day’s adventures. Located at the end of a dirt road, quiet with views of Killington/Pico and Salt Ash Mountain. Its a 15 min drive from Okemo/Ludlow, 10min drive from the Appalachian trail (7.9 mile walk) and there are 3 other Ski resorts within an hour of us as well as numerous lakes and hiking trails. Just 2 miles up the road is Star Lake and the quaint town of Belmont. Our 7 acres sits on the Northside of Belmont hill. Half of it is open with several gardens to meander through. There is a pergola filled with kiwis and wisteria and a hammock for lounging. A shady grape arbor filled with white grapes that we have made wine with. On property we have a tree fort, greenhouse, chickens and pigs. We do provide fresh eggs for sale. There is a medium pond in the back for swimming, a large fire pit for fires and but the Hip Shack comes with its own fire pit/grill combo. Wood bundle's are also available. There is a rudimentary outdoor toilet and shower. The shower can be filled with hot water using the faucet by the garage. All water from hoses, pump hoses and faucets is the same drinkable well water, collected from the many underground springs that also feed into the pond.

Our land abuts a hiking trail on the side of Spruce Mountain, and we are about ¼ mile from the trailhead to the Spruce Mountain Trail and L.R. Jones State Forest, the oldest state forest in Vermont. Cross-country skiing trails are nearby, and ski resorts are 40 minutes to an hour away. Ten minutes down the road is the quaint Plainfield Village, with a small pizza shop, used bookstore, café, and gas station. Five minutes farther is Fox Market and Bar, along with the River Oddities shop. A twenty-minute drive from the cabin brings you to the cities of Montpelier or Barre, which host a variety of museums, parks, local stores, restaurants, and a few larger chains and grocery stores. At night, the futon folds into a double bed that comfortably sleeps two. There are lamps upstairs and downstairs, as well as plenty of outlets to charge your devices for the next day’s adventures. Accessibility Notes: Parking is available for two cars. There is a 500-foot walking path through the woods to the cabin. The cabin is not ADA accessible and has a set of steep stairs— not quite a ladder, but steep! No pets, please, as we have two sweet cats and a loving dog who prefer to have their space. 🙂

We enjoyed the horse run in! The run in was clean and had everything we needed. Very much enjoyed the wood burning stove, hot tub, and fire pit. We found the dvd player, books, and record player charming. The farm is beautiful and we enjoyed the town of Londonderry. While the listed rules were a bit overwhelming, Ben and Loana were very kind and hospitable and easy to deal with (it was only surprising bc the rules had set a bit of a different tone). I would highly recommend.

Sleeping amongst the trees is the best! Queen size bed - all linens provided. Wood stove to keep you toasty all night long!

This was the perfect “glamping” spot! Tara has the space supplied with everything you may need. We especially enjoyed cooking our dinner over the fire, and sleeping to the sounds of the wood stove burning at night. Be prepared for the sounds of wildlife (coyotes). We never encountered them and always felt safe, but could certainly hear them! We would definitely return to this spot.

The property here was amazing to be at. I was part of a 4.person group bikepacking through Vermont and came across this as an option for reprieve during a to be rainy night. The main lodge was very homey, communal, and clean. A huge kitchen and plenty of seating/hang out area for folks to catch up and chat. Honestly we would have loved to stay longer and get to know even more about the place as it seemed to have some good history and current operations to it.

My husband and I LOVED our two-night stay in the bed-in-the-shed this past weekend. We've been up to Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center to do some gravel riding before and knew what to expect as far as amenities go. Weekend Trip to Base Camp (NEW TO HIPCAMP!)

Wonderful spot. We stayed here on our fall trip to dog mountain with our senior dog and light hiking in fall foliage. The bed was comfortable and the lodge area was nice to make coffee, hot teas, and take a warm shower. The hosts were lovely and communicative. They even had the sweetest horses living there. Gorgeous comfortable glamping spot. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
