We went in winter so maybe some of our comments don't apply in summer. The cabin is well built, well located. The problem is more with the logistics and some of the details. First of all, nothing is provided to light the fire (no lighters, no matches, no paper). However, the wood is provided and that's appreciated! There are no working lights or candles on site. Contrary to what is written on the ad, water is not provided in winter. If you intend to use Wifi, it doesn't work. What's really a shame and why I don't recommend this place is that when we arrived we noticed all these details and we notified the owner. He only replied that the Wifi would work fine, which was not the case. It was absent. And that water could be bought at the village convenience store. He's not concern about is guests and clearly he never come between is rentals. we had a calm and relaxing stay. but what disappointed us most was that the elements announced were not respected. For the price it's unfortunate.

The advertised wifi was non-existent, the doors didn’t lock, only one of the outhouse stalls had toilet paper (and it was soggy and almost out), the directions to get the site were incorrect, we couldn’t find the advertised “potable water” anywhere, even after contacting the host. The cabin itself had only one lantern that was fully broken for light (so obviously it didn’t work), the doors didn’t even close all the way. There was plenty of wood provided for the wood stove, but no fire starter, or even instructions. This all for $300 for two nights. Worth it at 1/3rd the price, but the lack of any instructions, directions, or the advertised amenities was disgraceful for what we paid. The location itself was beautiful, but it was clear from the state of the cabin that the hosts are rarely there to do maintenance. Heating the cabin was almost impossible because the doors didn’t shut all the way - and the one that did shut had painters tape covering the empty deadlock hole, which is indicative of the quality of the cabin as a whole. The back door had a gaping hole on in bottom half even when slid “all the way” in. We’re not normally the type of people to leave poor reviews; this is our first, but the problems were so prominent and we felt extremely misled by the listing, the advertised photos, and the experience the cabin offered. It’s very disappointing to expect a beautiful weekend in a gorgeous cabin and feel like we’re just renting someone’s under maintained shed.

Great place to stay. It's a very cozy cabin, perfect for small groups or couples. The surrounding area is great with an awesome cheese store with a lot of history behind it, and provides a lot of great hiking options. The owner's are very nice and even offered for us to stay into the following Monday! We definitely would've liked to taken the offer it if wasn't for work. I definitely recommend!

This place is awesome! The property and surrounding area are beautiful. Todd is very friendly and welcoming. The cabin is quite comfortable. But, if you're uneasy on ladders or with heights, the loft might not be for you. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again

Incredible view, the wildlife ❤️, an absolute nature lover’s paradise!
Walk along the edge of the water to see frogs everywhere, the paddle board is great.
If you have kids or are a restless sleeper the loft is a little hair raising but we slept sideways on the bed and were very comfortable.
The stars at night were incredible, the walkways…..so beautiful

Can't say enough good things about the camp - Todd's property is lovely, the cabin is comfy, and sitting by a fire looking up at the stars restores the soul. We were a group of 5 so we brought a tent as well. The location is very quiet and the pond is pretty - but the location is close to so much hiking and things to see and do. We didn't get a chance to use the provided canoe but did have a lot of fun checking out the frogs near the dock. Thanks so much Todd! Can't wait to pass through again soon!

Our stay at the cabin exceeded our expectations. A quiet, private oasis with songs of the pond. The space was well designed for camping. Bring what you need to camp with, and enjoy! Highly recommend, we hope to return in the future

The cabin is in a great location. It’s close enough to restaurants and grocery stores but remote enough to give you a real feel for being out in nature. Todd was a great host. He’s very quick to respond and help anything needed. I highly recommend staying in his cabin!

Todd’s land and cabin were a perfect fit for our weekend getaway. The loft bed had a beautiful view of a pond on one side and the morning sun on the other; it was such a nice way to wake up. The wood stove worked really well for heating up the cabin so that it was cozy on chilly nights. The wood was provided and cut to fit the stove which was especially convenient. There were trails to explore in the woods behind the pond, too.

Couldn't get in touch with host via call, message, or text. Never received a reply even after we sent an urgent email to support. Had to spenda lot of energy, time, and money to find somewhere to stay, food, supplies, etc. after 12 hours of driving. Sent screenshot of everything to support for the third time this morning. Still have no explanation as to what went wrong here... you'd think a host would check in.. at the very least to make sure we were okay since we never made it. HipCamp really needs an emergency phone # .....

Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains
The cabin is a GREAT little place for a getaway. It's pretty rustic and small, but that just adds to the romance. The mattress in the loft is very comfortable. The wood stove is pretty small and won't fit wood that you buy, so you may have to do some chopping. But the location is great, the pond means great frogsong at night and a fantastic view of the stars, and the trails on the property are fun to explore. Todd was a great host with lots of advice and suggestions, and was great with communication before we arrived. Highly recommended.

Got holed up for an early winter dusting that was just an absolutely beautiful stay in the cabin. Definitely dress warm, but know the woodstove does a nice job warming the little cabin up also. So grateful to have gotten the time there.

Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains
The cabin was beautiful, and faced a gorgeous pond that made it feel very secluded. We ended up not using the loft bed, and just pulled out our sleeping bags by the wood stove because we wanted to watch the fire. With the rug, it was very comfortable and cozy. Todd was also very communicative and helpful, and when a Nor’easter storm came through, he even offered to let us stay longer if we needed to wait it out, which was extremely considerate. Especially for a last-minute trip, this exceeded all our expectations!

Todd’s place is perfect! Super quiet, peaceful, and romantic. Loved waking up to the pond and beautiful wooded views every morning where we drank our coffee. At night we heard owls and coyotes and gazed at expansive starry filled skies. Plenty of water and firewood were provided, and the cabin was super cozy and comfortable. Todd was very responsive to our needs. Highly recommended! Close to many local attractions and activities.

This place is as perfect as the pictures. Todd is a considerate and thoughtful builder and host. This was our first hip camp glamp and we weren't sure what to expect. What a gorgeous structure! Hand built to be sturdy and functional. All windows had shelves for light storage. The dual outhouse was well maintained. The view was priceless!!! Todd was kind, considerate, and available to help.
It is a perfect windowed place to see the leaves change color, ducks on the pond, stars over the trees, and listen to an elusive owl. The stove was perfect for cooking. He chopped the right sized wood for us to split, he kept a bucket of kindling to help start a fire for our week. An old cupboard had a few usable doors, and a refillable jug for water helped us keep it clean. What a hard worker he is. Beautiful property throughout!!!

Thank you so much to Todd and Susan for letting us stay in their idyllic little spot for the weekend! Jay and I eloped and couldn't have asked for a more picturesque place to run off into the sunset together. The cabin was cosy and clean and the location was right in the middle of nature, whilst only being a short ride from the quaint towns down from the mountains. I highly recommend this little gem to anyone

Beautiful, quiet location and a wonderful cabin to enjoy it from. We made full use of the hibachi and gave the paddle board a whirl too. Loved the simplicity of it all, it was perfect size for the 2 of us, though 3 would have worked too. Agree with some others that window or door screens would be helpful in summer for a bug-free cross breeze, but otherwise it was perfect.

This truly was a beautiful cabin, in a beautiful location! Our host Todd was wonderful and promptly responsive in arranging our stay and making sure we arrived without any problems and got settled in well. The cabin was cute and snug. It could have benefited from screens on the windows, but other than that it was perfect for our family of 3. Their grounds are gorgeous, with wildflowers and walking trails, and the pond right behind the cabin is beautiful - and full of frogs and salamanders and catfish that our 7-year-old loved, and a great dock for observing them.

We stayed for 3 rainy nights over the 4th of July weekend. This place was magical. The loft has a queen sized mattress (not a king size) and the wood stove kept everything toasty warm.
The pond is tiny, but full of interest!
We watched 2 moose stroll by while baby ducklings learned to swim.
Todd was quick to respond to all communication, and gave plenty of privacy. When you are inside the cabin or on the dock, its very secluded. But you are close enough to get wi-fi from the main house.
We hope to return to this special place.

Todd’s cabin is perfect in so many ways. Great location on the edge of the Coolidge park, idyllic setting on a pond, excellent shelter from the weather, and most importantly a friendly host.
My 8YO son and I stayed for 4 nights in July 2021. It was a summer highlight. We packed for what someone described as “camping with shelter,” bringing bedding, full kitchen supplies, and even a portable power bank because the cabin doesn’t have electricity. But fresh water is readily available at Todd’s hose bib, and the Wi-Fi even reached the cabin.
We made a fire with flint, swam before bedtime, cooked food on the provided hibachi, and can’t wait to go back!

It was a beautiful little cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; we were warm and cozy inside despite the cold rain outdoors. It's rustic: plan to bring everything you'd need for a camping trip, minus the shelter. Todd was fantastic with providing enough wood for us to burn in the woodstove to both cook and stay cozy. Since it rained our whole trip, we didn't walk around much, but the entire grounds and estate were lush and green and looked tenderly maintained, including walking trails and a small vineyard.

We found the cabin just as it was getting dark on a 10 degree night. Todd's directions were easy to follow even in the dusk. The sled provided was a convenient way to transport our gear and bags to the cabin on the snowy path. The little wood stove in the cabin provided us with warmth and comfort through the chilly night. There was plenty of firewood and kindling. We were even able to send off some emails from the cabin using the WIFI. We were able to cook some breakfast egg sandwiches on the wood stove top using a cast iron pan we brought. Todd was perfectly friendly and helpful to talk to. He's a great host, and the cabin is wonderful. Just make sure you are dressed and prepared if you are arriving on a winter evening.

Had a great stay at Todd's! The property is beautiful, the cabin is sweet, and the snow was wonderful. For a winter stay, guests should be aware that all warmth and cooking potential comes from the small wood stove, and that bringing dry wood or a hatchet to prepare kindling for the fire will help those two activities go smoothly. Once we got the hang of the fire and minimized the smoke it was really idyllic. Any issues were likely our own error anyway! There is also a great network of trails leading directly from the property. Super fun to explore.
