This land is the home to Brad and Sarah, cats, gardens and a variety of wildlife. It is here that we run Roots School, a wilderness earth skills school, instructing adults and youth alike. The land has over a half a mile of river frontage and several streams, a beautiful varied forest, rambling topography, and plenty of wildlife. Many lessons in tracking may be found as whitetails, moose, black bear, fishers, bobcats, porcupine, coyotes, foxes, mink, ermine, snowshoe hare, wild turkey, and ruffled grouse, are seen and tracked. Often times we are also lucky enough to catch a hawk circling the pasture and to hear the barred owls calls in the darkness of night. The diversity of plants, trees, and animals make this an ideal place to study and grow, or simply hang out in and experience.

We are a 107-acre forest and farm animal rescue in Vermont. Sleep near the sheep, alpacas, donkeys, and potbellied pigs when you pitch your tent or park your camper on our farm. 2027 CAMP FOR FREE WEEKENDS • April 30-May 2 • September 17-19 Volunteer for the weekend and make a real difference in the lives of our rescued animals. To participate, message us with your email address or register through our All Events page. OUR CAMPSITES Reserve the Group Site to stay in the middle of the action. No group is required. Nearby sites share a community fire ring, making it easy to meet other campers. No tent or RV? Stay in The Greenhouse, a working greenhouse that becomes a unique glamping space at night. Want more privacy? Choose Buddha North or Grandmother Pine, our forest Tent Deck sites. Each includes a picnic table, private fire ring, and commercial-grade park grill. They feel remote but are less than a five-minute walk from your car. Looking for something more spectacular? Hike a half-mile to the Big Sky Tent Deck and enjoy an incredible vista. NEED GEAR OR SUPPLIES? We rent tents, propane stoves, water containers, cast-iron grill baskets and griddles, an Anker Portable Power Station, kerosene heaters, and more. We sell charcoal, propane, and Mimikai Tick Repellent Spray, which is scientifically proven to be as effective as DEET while remaining nontoxic and DEET-free. MORE ABOUT US We are a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit. When you camp, rent equipment, or take a tour, 100% of what you pay goes directly toward caring for and feeding our animals. Thank you for supporting neglected, abused, and abandoned farm animals. Want a closer look? Sign up for a Farm Tour and enjoy a behind-the-scenes experience. You can even learn Tai Chi during your stay. Skip the crowded commercial campground where tents are packed together like sardines. You will not have people constantly walking or biking past your site and inspecting your setup. You might, however, have a curious donkey or alpaca stop by. CHECK-IN: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please arrive during this window. Extensions are available for $15 in advance or $30 upon arrival.

The SiloSide barn and homestead is better known around town as the "Old Somers Farm" in reference to the day when the barn housed 60 head of cows. The farm was a part of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative, and closed this era in the late 1980s. Prior to being a dairy farm consisting of over 500 acres, the property served as a tavern, inn, tannery, and has always been a traditional, well-loved farmhouse. Our farmhouse was built in 1785, and the barn built around the 1830s and expanded in 1941. The soil here is rich, and the forest full of wildlife. We've named our home "SiloSide" as tribute to the magic we feel on the non-road facing, silo-side of the barn, where you'll be camping.

My land is easily accessible by main road, has ample parking, and yet cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife, fireflies and peepers are just outside the door. In the summer season, several organic farmstands and local picturesque swimming holes range between 5-15 minutes away. Autumn's glorious show is on display everywhere you look. Winter offers easy access to groomed VAST trails in the field behind the house and studio. Hopkins Center, AVA Gallery, the Lebanon Opera House, Northern Stage, and a wide array of restaurants are within 20 minutes. The Lyme bridge is now open, so there are more restaurants, trails, activities and the Dartmouth Skiway! Despite the proximity to town and even to my home, the simple studio space is serene in its sumac baby forest. The space is one of a kind, with a giant salvaged chapel window, cathedral ceilings, a candelabra, a clawfoot tub, a quirky outhouse, on-demand hot water, electricity and wifi. The site lists that it sleeps 4? But three is more realistic, and I cannot seem to change it. Also, we have 2 barn cats and the toilet really is an outhouse with an old quarter pipe as its roof. cedarcirclefarm.org/cafe vnews.com/Upper-Valley-Swimming-Holes-10849840 hoodmuseum.dartmouth.edu lebanonoperahouse.org northernstage.org theaterengine.com/venues/288 brokenheartsburger.com avagallery.org

Our tent and yurt sites are located on 5 acres of private woods and are 4 acres apart to allow for maximum privacy for our guests! Parking for both sites are shared. The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area. Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets. Through the generous permission of surrounding landowners and the stewardship of the Bethlehem Trails Association, guests can access this trail network to enjoy the views from the summit of Mount Agassiz for top notch single-track mountain biking. We live one town over and are just a phone call away. If you walk the trails, you may encounter a friendly neighbor's dog but all our guests enjoy the privacy and solitude the mountain provides.
