3 nights at Hickory Ridge

We had an amazing camping experience here! Willis was super welcoming and gave us some great recs for bike paths in the area. The shaded area was perfect, and the walking trails on the property were a lovely bonus. We felt safe and private the whole time. One tip: bring a thermacell! It was a total lifesaver when it came to bugs, they're inevitable outdoors, but it made a huge difference. We also appreciated the large sink for washing dishes. Overall, we'd definitely recommend this spot!

Leila's site was as described. Nice soft moss and lawn to pitch a tent, peaceful, secluded spot. Leila kindly brought me water for washing though I also had access to potable water. Slept very well and woke to gentle rain in the morning.

2 nights at Magic Forest Farm

Magic Forest Farm is great! The campsite we were in was basic but that’s what I want, has a firepit, a little side table/chair and / some plastic pallets/platforms to keep things off the ground. Definitely bring potable water. Further from the site there’s a shower and possibly access to water but we didn’t need to use that. There’s firewood available for $1 per piece but this is the good stuff, burns way longer than what you would get at a gas station. We checked out some trails on the property and they were great!

Weekend Trip to Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

We absolutely loved the cabin! So charming, and it had everything you need. Mary provided detailed and useful information about the cabin itself and beautiful surrounding area. The sauna just took it over the top! Will definitely stay here again.

This was my second visit to Christian's Hipcamp and I hope to be back again! The site is very private and quiet and has everything you need, plus we love getting to visit the horses. The grocery store is only 5 minutes away when you need to stock up and there are tons of hiking trails and outdoor activities around - plus a beautiful view of Mt. Greylock right from the farm. We look forward to many return trips!

Our historic and peaceful property is yours to explore! You can swim in the pond, take casual strolls around the property, enjoy the campfire at night, bike for miles on scenic country roads, and use this site as a jumping off point to discover all the beer, wine, cheese, concerts, festivals, hiking, kayaking, restaurants, shopping and more that the greater Capital Region has to offer! According to a few sources we've consulted, the Mohican people (Eastern Algonquian family of tribes - not to be confused with the Mohawk, a distinctly different tribe) were the indigenous occupants of the land where our farm is now located. Historians note that the name Mohican is from the indigenous word meaning "water that flows in two directions." Most Mohicans were driven into western NY and Canada when the Revolutionary War broke out. Local history indicates that the first white occupants to build here were the Hawley Family, in 1790. Parts of the farmhouse date to this era. Outbuildings were added through the decades and centuries, and the land was used as a dairy farm, among other ventures, by previous owners. We purchased the property in 2021 in hopes of providing more space, nature and outdoor living for our two little ones. We have two fields dedicated to Christmas trees, as well as apple, pear and cherry trees, and we've had successful garlic harvests to share with neighbors, family, friends, and at local farmers' markets. Welcome to Wequamps Haven in South Deerfield, with one of the nicest views of Mount Sugarloaf and North Sugarloaf Mountain, which together form the body of Wequamps of the local native legend. We have one camper site available, located on the edge of our 40 acres of protected land. Your site is on the old farm road near open, farmed fields, behind a well settled neighborhood near downtown. It is out of site of the main road and most neighbors, but still close to all the amenities in town. Half the acreage is flat, tillable land currently farmed by local farmers. The rest is pasture and woodland located on the hillside, abutting state park land which is part of Mount Sugarloaf Reservation. The view of the mountains and open farmland is beautiful at any time of year and the hillside pasture is a great place to watch the sun set over the valley below. It is the perfect site if you want a quiet, peaceful place to relax without going too far from civilization. Since it is an in-town location, it is easy to get to, close to I-91 and Routes 5&10. We are centrally located between Northampton, Amherst and Greenfield, which are all a short ride away, along with all the restaurants and attractions they have available. There are plenty of places nearby to walk, hike, bike, fish, kayak and swim so you can take full advantage of all the region has to offer. You may see rabbits, groundhogs, deer, opossum and numerous birds on the property. We have a resident red-tailed hawk and often spot pileated woodpeckers. You may occasionally hear coyotes or owls in the distance. Feel free to stroll the old farm road or enjoy our large backyard and covered patio which are areas we are happy to share as common spaces with our guests. Explore the lush Pioneer Valley or the many hill towns in our cozy western Mass. mountain ranges for all the farm stands, antique shops, historic sites or outdoor activities you could possibly hope for within easy reach. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. If you're a larger group booking Salamander Hollow main camp with its Sleeping Library, Tipi & Slovenian Beehive House, you might consider renting this additional Tiny Cabin want to entertain all in glamping style, utilizing its amenities; as well, providing another bathroom/shower and guest bedroom for those who prefer being indoors while in the great outdoors. Note that Kula Bata Tiny Cabin abuts the wheelchair accessible larger bathroom/shower which is available to those at the Salamander Hollow main camp, yet you are secluded with your own private entry points and private bathroom. Very quiet with great swimming and lots of hikes right from your sites. 2 of the Brookside Sites (Wishbone Left and Right) are close by (2.7 miles) where we have another 1/2 mile of river frontage and can handle bigger groups as Conservation land on Sunrise Farm only allows 4 campers per site. Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide. Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids. Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people. In Winter we request only AWD vehicles go down to this site or park up by farmhouse and hike in so you can easily get out. When wet park up by the road if you have 2 wheel drive. **Please confirm you have read our property description and rules before booking** Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed. Fox Farm Campground

Fox Farm is located on 8 magical acres in eclectic Brattleboro, VT. Pitch your tent in a sacred private white pine forest or closer to the trail-head with access to a charcoal grill, a huge fire circle and a picnic table. If you prefer a roof over your head, check Fox Farm Cottage @ Fox Farm. Located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offering opportunities to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. The Marina Bar and Restaurant is a 2 mile hike or bike ride from the camp site (via the West River Trail) and is a fun way to see the beauty of Vermont and partake in some excellent indoor/outdoor dining with views of the water. Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders. The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet. There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!
