22 acres

Our homestead is a judicious 20-acre mixture of meadow, woodland, orchard, gardens, and wild and cultivated berry patches. A very rewarding and strenuous hike leads you down into a beautiful secluded brook, with waterfalls and swimming holes. An absolutely magical spot you will most likely get to soak in in complete solitude. Other great hiking throughout our woods and nearby in Jamaica and Townshend state parks. Lots of opportunities to interact with wildlife (and my livestock dogs, haha), explore the woods and sit in the peace of wild things. Surplus eggs and extra seasonal produce (grown, foraged) for sale when available. Dogs not encouraged, but not prohibited under certain circumstances. Emma was a fantastic host. We had both a scheduling issue and a tech issue with the platform, and her response was quick, detailed, helpful and friendly!

We had a great time At the Green Mountain Homestead Getaway! We had no issues finding the driveway into the property and were able to get settled in pretty quickly. We stayed at the forested campsite. Once we got set up, Emma came to check on us and to see if we needed anything. She also brought a large blue water container that we could fill from the side of their guest house located next to the campsite. We enjoyed being able to hang out by the fire pit, watching and listing to the birds. We enjoyed our visit and can't wait till we can visit again!

Milkweed and Monarchs i.n the Meado
The views from the Milkweed and Monarch Meadow were spectacular as were the Monarchs! No amenities, sporadic Verizon service. The vegetable gardens are spectacular!

This was my first camping solo trip and first HipCamp experience. Emma was very welcoming and met me shortly after I arrived (actually one of her chickens greeted me first! 😉) . She was friendly with a jug of water in hand. She was easy to book with, especially considering it was a last minute decision to go. She also offered some local site suggestions. The location of the site was nice, however there the second site was not far away. There was a group - they were not roudy or obnoxious but I could see them from my site. I thought it would be more private. I had also added the firewood on to my checkout, but didn't have any at the site. I should note that I also did not bring this up when Emma came to greet me. I was able to use some wood I found, but it was wet and very difficult to get a good fire going. The street wasn't too far away, so I could hear cars often. The land and trails were beautiful. There is a small country store at the bottom of the street that serves coffee. The shop is quaint and adorable. Her two dogs came at different times too. Both were friendly and beautiful. One joined me on my little walk to scope out the area. Overall, it was a decent experience. I think this would be perfect for multiple people going together! I also think this was a good first experience.

Lovely hosts, lovely property
We decided to get away from New York City for the 4th of July for some peace and quite with our 1 year old baby and 2 year old pup. Being avid campers and recently moving from Colorado, we headed up to Vermont for a few days to enjoy the outdoors. I came across Hipcamp and thought it was a great idea since I was unfamiliar with National forests on the East Coasts. We originally booked this campsite because of the location and we were so pleased with our experience that we booked a second night! Emma and Alex were wonderful hosts! Very kind and super accommodating. When we arrived at the campsite they brought us cold water and fresh eggs and even let us borrow some bug spray after we realized we forgot ours. They were very responsive to any questions we may have had and gave very thorough directions to local hikes and swimming holes. They have a beautiful property with lots of fun animals that wander around. We definitely would like to come back in the fall when the leaves start to change! Back in Brooklyn and missing nature already!

Alex&Emma were so nice and accommodating! The homestead is private and beautiful with lots of options for camping. Lots of room! Very knowledgeable and helpful hosts and their animals were so loving and cute. We had a really great time and the area is absolutely beautiful. Easy drive to Brattleboro and other surrounding fun. Able to gather our own wood from the property for fires and they have great well water! It was a wonderful stay!

Emma and Alexander were very accommodating and relaxed. They helped us find the right parking spot and gave good advice around the area. Very quiet at night. Cute chickens, ducks, goats and dogs. I would stay here again
