Weekend Trip to Best View In Leander

Peaceful spot at the top of a hill. Great for Sunset views and a quiet night. Our dogs were safe and comfortable off leash. The solo stove and clean port-o-potty were very much appreciated. Our host was friendly and responded quickly. We would stay there again.

Weekend Trip to Best View In Leander

Darren's land was ideal for us. It was very quiet and pretty. Nothing fancy, just a picnic table, metal fire pit and a very clean porta-potty. It was also close to Balcones National Wildlife Refuge which is the reason we were in this area. The ground is very lumpy, so not a good option for tent campers. As we have a truck pop-up camper, that wasn't an issue for us. We would definitely stay here again.

The site we had was spacious and the view was amazing! The site felt remote and deep in nature and the site is easily accessible.The host was very accommodating and even let us borrow his solo stove so we could have a fire in windy conditions. Picnic table, portapotty, and trash can were also available on site for convenience.

1 night at Homestead Farm

Beautiful property, well-appointed with a nice set up for RVers. The horses were very friendly and curious and our little ones enjoyed petting them. Unfortunately it was raining so we didn't get to take full advantage of the fire pit, but it was well-stocked and in a location where you could admire all the beauty around, but also far enough from the RV so anyone who went to sleep early wouldn't be disturbed by voices around the fire. Would definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Homestead Farm

Camping on the Homestead Farm was perfect. Our hosts were communicative, accommodating, and friendly. We loved sitting by the fire pit listening to the horses near by in their corral and looking up at the stars. There are several great places nearby for art, food, and a cocktail or craft beer. We spent the day in Wimberley on Saturday and caught a show at the Devils Backbone Tavern that night. To have all of these things so close AND full hookups was perfect. The only downfall is that we don't want to tell anybody about this hidden gem so we can come back often. Lloyd continues to improve the site so we cant wait to see how it progresses in the coming years. 10 out of 10!

River Grove Campground

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course). The large oak and pecan trees amid the rolling green hills of this gorgeous ranch land are nestled on the banks of the lazy Colorado River. Swim, kayak, or canoe...but there’s no better way to beat the legendary Texas heat than by grabbing an inner tube and enjoying a calm, steady float along a river known for an abundance of fossils and its wildlife. Bring your own tubes, kayaks and canoes, we are currently replenishing our inventory. Or perhaps you prefer to fish the shady tree-lined banks. Either way, you'll see a variety of birds while you relax on or beside the cool waters of the Colorado River. We're kid and dog friendly (leashes mandatory) and we love musicians. Bring an instrument and join us for an impromptu jam session in our special events room or around the campfire. Cook dinner on our BBQ pit. Firewood is available onsite A few rules... 1. Check in is before sunset. We ask that all Hipcampers wait at gate for staff to guide you to your location for safety reasons. Contact us if you arrive ahead of schedule. 2. No wondering by the upper level cabins (these are private property). Showers are behind these cabins. Please respect staff spaces. 3. If you have an extra vehicle, please park it with your other vehicle. 4. If you have a 3rd extra vehicle, let us know and we will direct you where to park it. 5. Please be courteous of other campers space and road access. 6. All kids are free. If your kids are 17 and under do not add them or it will charge. 7.
