Sandy Ridge Camping

We're happy that we can open up our land for campers. Before booking please read the following information and site descriptions. You can enjoy wooded walking paths in the 90-acre forest and pastures, ponds and wildlife, including deer, wild hogs, hawks, owls, roadrunners, doves, cardinals, jays, woodpeckers, mockingbirds, and many other species of birds. Small mammals such as armadillos, rabbits, and squirrels are often seen, and the property is also awesome for stargazing. Please watch out for snakes, scorpions, pesky mosquitoes, chiggers and ticks. This land has been a huge blessing to us and we hope you will enjoy your stay here. Arrival time should be no later than 9pm. Please inquire before booking if your arrival time might be later. Welcome to Sandy Ridge Camping and Sandy Ridge Pecans!

Site #1: This is a big area and has room for several tents and vehicles. The ground can be a bit rough from chopped up bark and uneven ground. 

Outhouse is located near the farmhouse and in walking distance of camp sites; there is also a utility sink with non-potable water.

We have a peaceful walking path that meanders through the woods. Our campers love to take walks and just rest in the calm and peace among the rustling pines and native timbers.
There are some games stored in the outdoor kitchen to guests to enjoy. 

Sleep Under the Pecan Trees

Explore the 100 acre property that has 15 designated camp sights.... The closest two are about 100 yards apart.  All the sights are near trees. Some Giant evergreens but most are near one of the 200 year old Pecan trees.  Creeks meander through the woods and all meet on the South side of the property. 9 Horses, 20 donkeys and the friendliest mule ever! They Dot the property. Also deer, recoon, squirrel  and an occasional armadillo may visit.  A Great stocked pond and 3 other ponds make for beautiful fishing and photos etc.

Wayne’s Land

Our homestead is a few acres in East Texas, near Hawkins. The land has been untouched for about 30 years, maybe last used for cattle grazing. We're keeping the property as natural as possible, we live here off-grid and off-pipe.

There’s a 17 acre lake that we share with neighbors. It’s full of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish, we encourage catch and keep fishing since the lake could use a little fishing pressure. We also have a beaver pond, and resident beaver. 

Some of the wildlife we see regularly: fireflies, turtles, cardinals, bluejays, hummingbirds, kite birds, frogs, opossums, armadillos, beaver, river otter, road runners and rabbits. These plants live here too: Beautyberry, Dewberry, Pokeberry, Sparkleberry, Dogfennel, Dogwood, Yaupon Holly, Holly, Wax Myrtle, Sassafras , Lyreleaf Sage, Carolina Crane’s bill, Coral Honeysuckle, Western White Honeysuckle, Smooth Cat’s Ear, Daisy Fleabane, Prairie Onion, Mullein, Summer Grape, Water Lily. The entire water lily plant is edible, did you know?

Swim, hang out, cool down on the small swimming dock. Canoe and kayak included! Based on shared availability, we have 1 two person canoe, and 3 kayaks for use on our lake free of charge. There are smaller size adult life jackets and oars/paddles. Bring your own life jackets for kids.

Contrary to local rumor lol, we are not a “nudist resort”. But it is true that one of our campsites is very private, so one could dress any way they wanted while at that campsite. 

About the Bees

Please do not bring or use any insect killer or insect repellent other than what you apply to your own body. We have several honey bee colonies living here and our neighbor keeps bees as well. For the safety and health of our bees, the use of man made insect killers or repellents on the ground, in the air or on the foliage is absolutely not allowed. One natural remedy is diatomaceous earth. Sprinkled on the ground, it does a good job at keeping ants and crawling creatures away. 

Brookshire's in Hawkins less than 4 miles away if you need supplies.

Verizon, ATT users have cell coverage here, no signal for T-Mobile users.

A Little Piece of Paradise

A little piece of paradise, a rustic country place near the sky to breathe fresh air, hear the birds sing, fish if you like fishing, enough space to walk among the trees and enjoy nature, if you are lucky you will see the deer or wild pigs . 

The property has a house, a cabin and in the middle of the two there is a pool next to a small lake (if Reserve it 3 nights the pool be came exclusive), a barbecue gas grill and tables for a small pool party

The property is outside of the city limits but is close to the city, 15 minutes from walmart. If you have specific questions fill free to text. Wifi upon request.

We have deer during the season, wild hogs, a temporary river, creek, several ponds to fish, area to to ride ATVs, many trees, plus we are working in developing for more activities in the future

Savannah’s Events @ Flyin H

The Flying H Ranch is owned and operated by Harlan and Sharon Ray. They have owned the ranch since 1995 when “H” retired from the Air Force. The Rays operate the ranch not only to run cattle, hay and horses but it is also an event venue and vacation cabin rental. The Rays, along with their children and grandchildren are seventh generation farmers and ranchers and would LOVE to share their ranch with you.Learn more about this land:Open area on working ranch. The campsite is situated on 22.5 acres with access to two ponds. There are nature trails to walk and areas just to sit and enjoy nature. Plenty of wildlife to see squirrels, birds and deer. This area was inhabited by Indians so look down you just might find an arrowhead or two.  There are many lighted areas to gather around at night, or find a more secluded spot to star gaze.Learn more about this land:Nature walk, fish or just enjoy the beautiful scenery. Sit by the campfire or catch fireflies. We have open areas to throw a football or frisbee. Winnsboro lake is just a few miles away as well as 10 miles from 2 very quaint country towns. Winnsboro is home to Autumn trails and a great arts district. 

Vrooman Ranch

Jeremy grew up farming upstate NY.  He became a pilot and moved away.  Beckie grew up in Chicago.  She became a flight attendant and a fashion designer.  Beckie and Jeremy married and bought a ranch during the covid epidemic so Jeremy could continue to pursue his ranching dream while Beckie continued designing clothing, furniture, house rehab and home goods in the meantime.  Our homestead store on the property is a combination of Jeremy and Beckie's passion to create.  Our ranch tours offer a glimpse into a day in the life of ranching and Jeremy is very happy to share all the tricks he has learned over his lifetime with anyone curious about where, when, why and how of the food they consume.  Learn more about this land:Vrooman Ranch is a full working cattle ranch on 122 acres in Ladonia, Texas. Paradise acres

Nice slice of north tx heaven. Very quiet=and peaceful very secluded there is three ponds for fishing. There is trails and a creek to hike there's fire pits camping is allowed RVs are allowed parties are allowed. Any other questions please ask very laid back environment hunting and fishing is allowed guns allowed bonfires permitted if safe. conditions exist/

BlackBerryPines Disc & Camp

BlackBerry Pines Disc & Camp is 27 acres of Piney woods. The property has a 20 hole Disc Golf course carved out of the woods. Very challenging and technical with Long and Short Turf tee pads. All baskets are Innova Discatchers. Come out and camp and play disc golf all day. 

Property has lots of elevation that makes for great hikes. Couple miles down the road is Barefoot Bay Rv Resort & Marine. The town of Pittsburg is less than 10 miles away for all the normal items you may need (Grocery, Hardware store, CVS pharmacy, Brewery!!! 😉)

The clearing is surrounded by trees and feels very secluded and safe.

It's been a fairly wet summer, and there were hidden mushrooms! 

Find little places off the clearing to set up your tent or perhaps a yoga mat. This would definitely be my pick if our car would've made it up the road.

Big Tex Campgrounds is a 30 acre campground located 10 minutes from Canton and 20 minutes from Tyler in the quirky and eclectic town of Ben Wheeler- We built our campground *with* the trees, not *through* the trees and love giving RV families a space to feel like they are truly camping in nature, but with the all the added comforts (plus a laundry facility) We are constantly building and adding on and growing our campground. Camp Coyote

Heavily wooded mature forest with scenic 2 acre deep lake for fishing, swimming and boating activities. Numerous wildlife from roadrunners to coyotes, wild pigs, deer, migrating birds like terns and ducks. Great bird watching ranging from large terns and turkey buzzards to dozens of 
smaller species. Many of natures four legged creatures make our forest their home.

The Marlin Spike On The Prairie

 This is a great property with a lot of potential for adventure. You can burn almost everything around responsibly. There is a lot of firewood. Right now there are no bathrooms or facilities of any kind except for a small goat shed. there is a ton of scrap metal and random random things in a pile great for digging and scrapping in all free. Finders keepers. 

There are some really old giant trees on the property. One is probably the largest tree I have ever seen in Collin County. There is a seasonal creek that runs through the back and sort of a swappy pond in the front.

The Prairie in the front is some sort of different grass than usual. It might be native buffalo grass or something else weird like that.

The property needs a lot of cleanup, so I would make a good to work campers or groups wanting a working party. The land could use some work, I could contribute a lot of free beer and food to people cleaning up the place before I build my house.

Invest & Relax

A place for peace and thoughts or if you just need a vacation , this is the place! 5min from the city , many 24hr convenient stores that stay open year around, many things and restaurants to try. Everything is in reach. Fire pits are available. This is a camping site where you get natures full experience. Must bring your own camping toilet. RVs campers are more than welcomed. The famous most catfish caught , Lake tawakoni is 800ft away. Lots of fun!! Please be responsible and be safe. Ask questions, l will be available to answer any questions 24/7 any day or time.

Land of Oz! Sidewalk around one pond with bate fishing and a nice dock to sit and enjoy the surrounding beauty of towering trees. A bit of heaven.  There are several camp sites and room for 5 RV parking  hook up water and electric only. Peace and quite with the beautiful trees and ponds

Chickens, roosters, and ducks roam the farm. 

This was our favorite swing. It had bells that sound like a windchime, and it's next to a garden bed that will probably be really pretty during growing season!

Fruit trees line the sidewalk straight to the spot where we pitched our tent.

You can pitch your tent anywhere you like, but this was our favorite spot. By the pond, surrounded by a creek, tucked into the trees. Felt very secluded, but was still pretty close to the amenities. 

My son enjoyed hunting for dandelions that had gone to seed.

GLORY WATERMELON PATCH

This property was farmed by the Tawakoni Indians hundreds of years ago.We purchased this land as a place to retire,since we have always been entrepreneurs we decided to grow watermelons and this next year we are venturing to do also vegetables. We also donate many many pounds to homeless and orphanages. Coppergate Ranch

From Caddo Indians, pioneers, homesteaders, this land has seen it all.  Now it is a ranch with an event venue, horses, farm animals, trails, fishing ponds and camping.  A true "Country Club" where you can escape your world and the stresses of technology in the style you wish.  We have two on site RV's, and event venue, with 3 private bathrooms with showers, a club bar, catering kitchen and so much more!  Perfect for the family that has a "glamper" and those who want to "rough it".  Big enough to handle family reunions, weddings and parties yet .. big enough to give you the privacy you seek!  Contact us for special events.  Close by are the towns of Mt pleasant, Daingerfield and Pittsburg.  All have downtown areas with boutiques, antique and second hand shops to visit.  There are several museums in the area including the Mid America Flight Museum - a private museum of 60 vintage airplanes in flyable condition.  In pittsburg there is the Ezekial aircraft and local history museum.  also within 20 miles are major likes for water sports and sport fishing beyond our own famous "Catfish pond".

Each year our does give birth to singles and twins.  They are wild so you may or may not realize they are there.  We have several wildlife observation locations near feeders.
