. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. 13 Acres Retreat is nestled in the the rolling hills in the beautiful Texas Hill Country just 30 minutes west of Austin. Learn more about this land:Tom Dooley’s Hideout is located at the Gateway to the hill country, just minutes west of Dripping Springs off of hwy 290. It’s a unique 4 acre property with 5 modern tiny houses that sit on open range with free grazing livestock which occasionally show up as they do not belong to us. This tiny house comfortably sleeps 2 on a queen bed but we do have a sofa/futon thats great for kids. Enjoy sitting on the porch or at the picnic table under the trees to kick back and relax on a cool evening. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO HAVE A TWO NIGHT MINIMUM ON WEEKENDS Each tiny house has a keyless code entry system in which a personal code will be set up and sent to you prior to your check in. In the case that there is an issue with the key pad we do have a manual key so that you will always be able to access your tiny house. Pets are always allowed but we do charge $40 PER pet PER night. We do ask that you keep your pets off of the couch and the bed and clean up any “restroom breaks” outside. Also please note that we Do Not have a full kitchen only a microwave but we do have a charcoal grill under the trees in the common area. Dripping Springs offers a huge variety of fun activities and places to visit. Within a 10 to 15 minute drive you can visit countless local wineries, breweries and distilleries. There are also many amazing state parks such as Pedernales Falls, Blue Hole, Jacobs Well and Hamilton Pool that are always great to visit. Dripping Springs is also known to the wedding capital of Texas If you are in need of transportation you can always call an Uber or Lyft but if you are up for the drive, using your own personal vehicle is the best way to get around.

My son and I had a great time camping here! John and Nugget were wonderful hosts - very friendly, welcoming and helpful. John helped guide us to a spot that had enough vertical clearance for our RTT and helped us get our “camp kitchen” setup. It’s a beautiful property - we didn’t get to explore as much as we would have liked because it rained but we will definitely be back!

Ranch 3232 is a great option for camping and still having some nice amenities close by. Clean private bathrooms with showers. Water stations. Cute land to walk around on. The goat was hilarious and added a fun touch. The best view is near the dumpster or up on 3232. Highly recommend this campground. The host is very polite and communicates well.

We really enjoyed our stay! Just a few notes for future guests: the yurts are located in the owners’ backyard, so there isn’t a ton of privacy, and the bathroom doors don’t fully close since they don’t lock. The property has lots of fun animals, which adds to the charm, though a few did get out during our visit (a chicken, the dog, and even the pig) — a little stressful since we had our own dogs with us, but admittedly, waking up to a rogue pig was pretty thrilling. Last note, the heater in yurt 4 doesn’t work. 7/10

My family and I had an amazing stay! Secluded and super large area for us alone, with a wonderful view on the hill country. Waking up to the view was an awesome experience!! It was very quiet and yet all amenities for our camper (50A power, water, sewer…). My kids were able to run around, and enjoyed seeing the cattle on site, as well as deers that passed by.

Great experience. First time camping out doors with the family, not very far out and really accessible. We had called the owner and he quickly answered, definitely giving it a 5 star review. Only thing that would make it better, is haveing a little better directions to the camp sites, other than that, we will definitely be going back soon

We camped in Site 5 with the family, great little spot with an immersive forest feel only a short walk away from the parking spot. Table, chairs, and a bench were provided with the fire pit and grill! We all loved the cozy spot and would definably recommend. Only gripe is navigation was a tad challenging, additional signage may help. But will surely be looking on going back. Oh, and wild that is so close to civilization!

Weekend Trip to Alamo River RV Resort

My fiancé asked to go camping for her birthday, and we settled on this place. We showed up in the dark to our tent sight because she wanted to get her hair done that day also (don't ask), and because we weren't familiar with the area, we asked a local sheriff's deputy for directions. He told us where to go, but we accidentally ended up in sight 7 instead of 1 (our fault, it was dark). We realized our mistake the next morning and called the front desk, and they were incredibly kind. We insisted we'd pack up and move, but they didn't care, as nobody else had site 7 booked. We enjoyed a great time of calm walking trails and lovely scenery. My fiancé had never seen a ring-tailed cat, but we saw one fight over a tree with a couple squirrels! (Fun to watch for me). Long story short, this is a great, calm place for RV, camper, and tent sites. Btw, site 7 for tents is the best one. It has a table, water spicket, porta-potty (very clean), and is right next to a trail entrance.

I have nothing but great feels for this patch of nature. I stayed a week. I enjoyed walks, peace and quiet and literal tranquillity along with campfires and cooking on the open pit. The best part was when the neighborhoods close by calmed down and it was nothing but stars, crickets, frogs and critters. I had the best time, and my cats enjoyed watching nature through the windows long after I fell asleep The Lost Woods are very primitive and in town, but I recommend 100 percent. Tent, camper or RV (31ft like me) go visit. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

We had a fantastic stay this past weekend in the Apache Tent! The set up inside the tent was roomie and very comfortable. The restroom/shower area were close and clean. They had many welcoming touches through out the site. Hoping I can find a weekend to return with my grandson.
