Sheri and Johnny were extremely kind and hospitable hosts. We enjoyed the privacy of the campsites that were available (couldn’t see any of the other guests unless you went looking)! Very convenient if you’re looking to visit Hamilton pools which is just five minutes away. Also our favorite point was that it’s in an area with little/less light pollution from the city and so we were able to get really nice stargazing views!

this place was super cute! Very very close to the river. It was super windy and I’m not a very good fisher so we had no luck with that. Also the porta potty was pretty nasty but luckily I had a pop up toilet.

This is our second time here and we always have fun! Our kids didn’t stop till they find all the things in the scavenger hunt in the forest. My younger kid loved yo walk around “The Woods” as he call it. The host is superb!!!! Very helpful and checks out on us on how we are doing and got time to give stickers for the kids. Love this place so much!!!

VIP one was an excellent site with close proximity to the water. I spent most of my time fishing. The river has lots of weed so plan for that if that’s what you’ll be interested in. It would be nice to have some sort of quiet hours enforced. There was a family reunion going on at one of the other sites and they and we’re playing music until 2 AM. I suggest bringing a portable toilet as the Port A John’s were not useable. Staff was always very friendly and even offered free firewood, but we had enough. There was plenty of shade throughout this site. It fit an Overland vehicle tent and a six person dome tent comfortably with plenty of room for more. The dogs had plenty of room to walk around, sniff, and relax and shade.

There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. There are wildflowers all over the property; especially in the spring time. We have seen deer grazing on the property and some travelers have found fossils and arrowheads (no guarantees of course).
