Weekend Trip to Urban Hideout

We've stayed at Brent's cabin twice now and had a great experience both times. It's a tucked away piece of calm nature with easy access to central Austin. Brent has everything stocked from towels to coffee. Check-in is simple and the place is easy to find. We love the outdoor shower under the big oak tree!

Weekend Trip to Easy Breeze

Was going to stay one night, ended up staying two. Easy Breeze is an oasis in Wimberly. Wes is an awesome person, super responsive and makes this a safe place for solo female travelers! I soaked in the cool tub all day, and hung my hammock under the shade trees. I even slept with the van doors open under the full moon and woke to soft bird songs. My dog was really happy to roam off leash and nap in the grass. Will stay here again.

I loved staying at tent site B. It was easy to find, had a raised mulch pad for the tent, a couple of chairs, firepit, and grill. It was a short walk to the bathrooms/showers along a mulch path. Will definitely stay again when we come back to explore more.

Weekend Trip to Happy Horse Camp & RV Getaway

What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!

Lucy’s Hipcamp spot was excellent! Easy to get in/out in my van and she had everything I needed, including a fenced yard for my pup to run around in, which he LOVED! And my small dog got along great with her bigger dog. Toby was a sweet heart, as was Lucy. Communication was great and the spot felt very private and I slept great! Book this spot!

No frills car camping, highly recommended! John’s land is beautiful and has many sites to choose from with flat places for tents, fire ring, tables and chairs. John is friendly and so are his dogs. He’s done a lot of DIY projects like an outdoor shower, bucket flush toilet, disc golf holes (bring your own discs) and has a few campers, a dump truck and other equipment on site that might not feel like pure nature but it didn’t bother me. If you want a true “pristine natural area” look elsewhere but for weekend car campers it’s a great place. Firewood available on site. 15 mins from downtown.

Very well maintained and friendly atmosphere. The communal area came in clutch. Coffee in the morning gives you a brief chance to be social with other campers. The primitive sites are very secluded with the cedar trees surrounding them. Site H is by far the best. Your back is to to a fence and there is a trail connecting to the next site over for a bigger group. Road to the sites is a little rough but it adds to the experience. Overall it’s a great place and definitely worth a return visit.

Beautiful weekend in nature with hiking, happy farm animals, camping shenanigans. There’s an outdoor sink, potable water, and a regular toilet. There’s a very nice communal area with picnic seating/kitchen that’s lit by night with cute string lighting. My favorite part was the walk in the woods down to the river where we met the 600-800 year old pecan Mother Tree. Then at the river we waded, the doggies swam and everyone took a nap in the sun. We all love animals dearly, and i surprised the group with the mini-horse grooming. Snickerdoodle was looking so cute after we brushed out her hair!

The property was so beautiful! After raining all week, we showed up to a perfect river site. Our dogs loved the water and sleeping next to the horses and sheep. We camped with a large group of (14 people total) and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and get comfortable.

Welcome to Magickal Dickburg! This gorgeous 5-acre secluded piece of paradise is located between Bastrop and Paige, Texas. Dickburg is perfect for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and be fully embraced by nature. You will find yourself surrounded by dozens of beautiful Loblolly Pines, Junipers, and a variety of Oak trees. On a clear night, you’ll be able to look up and see all the stars over Texas! Currently, we are only offering semi-primitive camping spots - we have electricity, Wi-Fi, and a porta-potty for our guests to use, but no running water or showers. There is an 8ft. diameter communal firepit with firewood that can be used as long as there isn't a burn ban in effect. There are designated parking spaces on the property and from there, it’s just a short walk to the camping areas. You will need to bring any and all gear needed for camping, as we are only offering camping spaces. No glass bottles or containers of any kind and no generators. While there isn’t much to do inside Dickburg, other than exploring the land, stargazing around the firepit, and generally just vibing with Mother Nature, there are plenty of things to do nearby. We are only 15 minutes from Sherwood Forest Faire (only open during the weekends of March and April & a few other days during the year), 18 minutes from Bastrop State Park if you want to fish, swim, or hike, 25 minutes from Downtown Bastrop, and 30 minutes from the Dinosaur Park, the Capital of Texas Zoo, McKinney Roughs and Zip Lost Pines! Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash. Please be sure to clean up any messes your pet makes. Dickburg embraces a ‘Leave No Trace’ camping style, meaning, whatever items you bring with you, please take with you when you leave, including trash, items to be recycled, and pet waste. Please keep in mind that, while it may feel like you’re hundreds of miles from civilization, we do have neighbors on both sides of us and behind us. Three out of four sides of Dickburg have a regular fence while the fourth (north side) has a natural barrier of piled brush. Please do not cross into our neighbor’s property or allow your kiddos/animals to wander unsupervised. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. Other Things to Note: We have done countless hours of work to get Dickburg ready for you to enjoy. With that being said, it’s still raw land out in the country. There will be critters - snakes, lizards, bugs, etc. This was their land first and we’re just grateful we get to share it with them. Please use common sense when exploring the land and do not handle any wildlife. There is absolutely NO hunting or killing of any wildlife while at Dickburg. The ONLY exception to this rule is mosquitoes. You'll definitely want to bring bug spray, bug zappers, citronella candles, etc.... and kill as many of those blood-sucking jerks as possible! Do not be surprised if you hear gunshots during your stay. There is a shooting range just down the street. We mention this, not to scare you, but to make you aware so that you’re not scared when you do hear them. #countrylife String lights have been installed around Site #2. This is not only to light your way after the sun sets but also to set a boundary of where not to venture after dark. Please stay within the lighted area. The lights can be plugged in and unplugged at the electrical pole, near the RV (yellow extension cord). Dickburg is a very new camping area and is still a work in progress. After clearing the land, the land was left with exposed roots and tree stumps. For the safety of our guests, please be sure to have a light source with you when walking around at night. We are working to get roots and stumps removed, but it will take some time. We may or may not be onsite during your stay as we are continually working to improve the space for our guests. Feel free to come and say hi if you see us out and about. Or don’t! It’s completely up to you if you feel like being social or not! Also, if you have any suggestions on how to improve the area or other amenities you’d like to see, please let us know. We welcome your feedback!

Burrow who was a performing Country and Western musician here in Austin TX. campround/farmette' is about 2 acres (inside the city limits!), on a creek, kind of woodsy, and next to a pretty vast parkland greenbelt. Recent flooding made quite a mess but it's still pleasant here. Several friendly and permanent residents and farm animals. Creek-side private campground hideaway available. This is a CAMPGROUND: NO RV, ROOM, BED, INVOLVED - BRING A TENT AND GEAR FOR COMFORT (check my other listings for an RV stay). This a "want to camp" campground and not a living solution. If you "need to camp" due to financial or other reasons, Camp EZ will likely not be a good fit for you. 6 nights maximum stay. Not suitable for very young children. Please include your child in your count. Campfires in designated area only with permission (burn ban sometimes). Bring firewood. Community vibe 'round here; everyone is expected to be quiet and respectful of one another and clean up after themselves "leave no trace" style. Six night maximum stay. Bring a tent and gear needed to be comfortable. 2 private hot outdoor showers, rustic kitchen and 2 charming flush restrooms included. Wood fired sauna available. I have 3 cats, 11 chickens, 2 little donkeys and sweet 4 mini goats here at my little and funky 'farmette' right on Williamson Creek (sometimes flowing and not really swimmable) and next to a huge wooded greenbelt with a quiet and unused nature trail. This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home hostel/campground. It's kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, ant or cricket and you may also see a deer, fox or coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Sagebrush HonkyTonk and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. No wild or excessive partying here please and please remember: no smoking. WE NOW HAVE A COVERED PING-PONG PLAYING AREA AND BADMINTON TOO! Other details to note: Street parking. Camping is a very short walk from parking lot. We have carts to tote your gear if needed. Sorry, this campground is not set up to be able to park next to your site. We do not supply towels, toiletries, tents or bedding. Camp fire in designated fire pits only with approval. BYO Firewood. NO GENERATORS OR RECORDED MUSIC. Quiet time: 9PM-9AM.
