The field leads down to incredible cypress trees lining the Medina River. We also have a primitive camping area down by the river that requires you to park in a parking area and walk to your preferred camping spot.
If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park!
At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights.
Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife.
Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. Weather conditions are not an acceptable reason for a refund or change of reservation for this campsite.
Cellular service is limited here. AT&T provides a good signal in this area. HOWEVER **** SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE may have “VERY POOR” or “NONEXISTENT” cellular signals at this site.
We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am.
The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area.
If you book this property you will be able to check yourself in at the property. The specific location and other check in details will be provided to you on the day of your scheduled arrival, and after housekeeping and campsite make-ready is complete.
Most any car should be just fine for accessing the campsite, except in the case of very wet weather. Guests are not allowed to use firearms or fireworks on this property.

At the designated tent camping sites, you will find oak groves that provide opportunities for shade. The RV sites are in a picturesque field that provides excellent views of the sunset. The field leads down to incredible cypress trees lining the Medina River. We also have a primitive camping area down by the river that requires you to park in a parking area and walk to your preferred camping spot.
If you are looking for solitude and untouched nature, this is the place for you. The comforts of Bandera are conveniently only a 5 minute drive away. We are located less than 2 miles from Bandera City Park!
At this time, all sites are completely dry. We do have porta-potties available. RV sites are boondocking only (no water or electric at this time.) Guests may stay at Memmie’s Farm for a maximum of 6 consecutive nights.
Our slice of land on the Medina River is truly gorgeous! There are beautiful cypress trees that are magical year round, and there are often small rapids. If relaxing in the shade by the river and dipping your feet in is your thing, our property is perfect for that! However, this is not a swimming hole. The Medina River is generally not considered safe in Bandera, TX, due to consistent low flow. Swim at your own risk.

There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife.
Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am.
The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area.
If you book this property you will be able to check yourself in at the property. The specific location and other check in details will be provided to you on the day of your scheduled arrival, and after housekeeping and campsite make-ready is complete.
Most any car should be just fine for accessing the campsite, except in the case of very wet weather. Guests are not allowed to use firearms or fireworks on this property.

After a lifetime of travels, we are now (since 2019) settled down in the Texas Hill Country. We started out with 5 of us in a travel trailer in the woods, and have slowly carved out the Groot’s home. Living in an area that was once subdivided to provide camp sites for people coming to enjoy Medina lake, it only seems right to make our land available for people to do just that. Enjoy.

Peace, quiet, and nature are just 30 minutes from San Antonio loop 1604. You will find our back yard travel trailer and surrounding camp site tucked away in a little forest of Elm trees. Surrounded by scrub brush and with our container workshop as a privacy wall you will enjoy the feeling of having your own space as you enjoy some relaxation around a camp fire or in the hammock. The trees offer shade and draw in nature, while the surrounding Texas Hill country and nearby Medina Lake offer plenty of additional sights and opportunities to explore.

We had a great experience. Landers was very accommodating and helpful. Although people were close by, everyone kept to themselves, and the campsite still felt private. His two dogs were so sweet and respectful to our two dogs (and us!). We would absolutely stay here again :)

Great experience. Host was very nice and accommodating, providing firewood and his own fire starters. Kids enjoyed the plethora of activities (ie basketball, disc golf, feeding chickens, goats, etc). Garner State Park is not far if looking for top notch hiking trails. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Breathe Deeply
Perfect weekend getaway from apartment living! Plenty of privacy and an enclosed gate so our pup could wander while we made a campfire. Hot tub was such a wonderful treat, all water was temperature controlled and easy to use, compost toilet was clean, the bed was sooo comfy and grilling/cooking amenities were plentiful w/ options! Landers was an excellent host with clear direction and quick communication. This place is in an excellent location for travelers or those just looking for a nearby weekend retreat. Very safe. Love the ducklings on site. We look forward to visiting again very soon.

I LOVED staying at the A frame cabins (#7) on Sarah’s land! The Charmadillo was beautifully kept and the amenities were fantastic!!
Everything you could need for camping was included with our stay, including a well stocked industrial kitchen and firewood for a campfire. We cooked all meals there during our stay, and I throughly enjoyed every moment. The view from the kitchen was beautiful.
I also especially enjoyed the sauna, it stayed on from sunset to midnight. The cold weather in February made all the warmth feel amazing. We had the sauna to ourselves during the stay and it felt cozy and romantic.
The outhouse bathroom and shower rooms were clean, air conditioned, and meticulously designed. I enjoyed all the attention to detail, like a pleasant tobacco woodsy oil diffuser and eucalyptus in the bathrooms.
My two pups also enjoyed exploring the property. There is a big field out by the tent sites that was fun to run around in. The whole property has so many spots to relax in.
I visited for my birthday and I think I might make it a yearly trip, this was one of the best camping (“glamping”) experiences I’ve ever had. I am definitely recommending this place to my friends!

Soooo many trees and such a beautiful property! We loved our stay and will definitely be back. The glamping set up is just perfect! Bed is super comfortable, camping cookware provided, electricity and unlimited firewood is a huge plus! Let’s not forget the coffee station and convenient location of the loo for all your bathroom needs. We had such a peaceful and relaxing time around the campfire, under the stars and moon. Exactly what we needed, a wonderful reset! The host is so friendly and responds quickly. Don’t hesitate and book this site, you will be in camping heaven!

I booked this trip for my husband and his three cousins. Two from Taiwan and one from Atlanta. They came back so happy and refreshed! My husband wanted me to mention that Daniel was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to make their experience epic. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely return!

2 nights at Loving Heart Retreats
Lovely place to stay with a lovely view. Lodging was clean and well kept, the host was kind and accommodating, and check out was simple. Our stay was quiet and peaceful, enjoying good views with coffee in the morning and stargazing with wine at night. We will definitely be back and recommending this to friends who get to visit Marble Falls.

This trip and evening was very spontaneous, location and realivity to blanco led us here and it was perfect. Firewood provided, perfect lighting within the well secured canvas tent and incense for the best intimate evening. 2 nights at Sparrow Bend River Retreat
My fiance and I enjoyed our two night stay at the Scamp! The Scamp is located on a beautiful camping resort on the Medina River!
The Scamp is tucked away underneath Juniper trees away from the other campers and we enjoyed the privacy. The Scamp had everything we needed for cooking, dish washing, and coffee in the morning.
The Scamp was clean and comfortable for the two of us. The outdoor refrigerator could have been cleaner and the outdoor furniture appeared to be dog friendly, but this didn’t lessen the enjoyment of our stay.
Restroom and shower facilities are a very short walk from the scamp and were clean.
Short walk down to the beautiful Medina River where we enjoyed a float on our SUP and a swim in the crystal clesr water. You can rent tubes and kayaks if needed.
Firewood was available to purchase conveniently on Cash app or Venmo, however we did camp during a Red Flag warning so we couldn’t have a camp fire. (County order and not Sparrow Bend Resort rule)
Charcoal grill and charcoal provided for grilling and propane stove in the Scamp.
We would highly recommend The Scamp for a couples getaway!

Amazing setup! Camper had all we needed to be comfortable. The site was spacious and visual seclusion from the owner’s property. Expansive firepit, hammock, twinkle lights and two picnic tables. Our family of 3 had a great time- there was a small bunk bed perfect for our daughter while we enjoyed the main bed. Would recommend!

We had a wonderful time calling Ellie’s place “home” for a night. With all the comforts at your fingertips, the travel trailer worked perfect for our NYE visit. We will definitely return to Bandera soon, and will absolutely look to rent with Ellie Again.

Nice secluded place in the hills. However, keep in mind that there are two tents close to each other on one side and then another couple tents close to each other farther away. Great when you have a group using those tents together. Otherwise you’ll be pretty close to your neighbors. Keep that in mind. I like that there is a well-kept RV that was a communal space. Nice little amenities with places to sit and chill and have some food outside, games, etc. Grill in place was a nice feature. Unfortunately the propane buddy heater was out in our tent, but to be fair, we also did not ask for any additional propane :). Too bad for the burn ban. Would have been perfect for a nice fire in the cold night. The place was super nice and chill and places to explore. I like the nice little touch of adding the additional info on the property to explore and find out more about the area and critters in the area. Great touch! Had a great time. Thank you!

Eastern & Northern Hill Country
If your camping trip through Texas Hill Country has time for an urban stop, put Austin on your list. The state capital marches to the beat of its own drum with the proud motto “Keep Austin Weird.” This marks the eastern edge of Hill Country. Close to town, McKinney Falls State Park is a must see, notable as a popular swimming hole. Pedernales Falls State Park offers views of the Pedernales River and a tumbling waterfall and over 20 miles of trails for mountain biking. Inks Lake State Park offers recreation on land and water. Colorado Bend State Park provides miles of trails and views of a 70-foot waterfall.
Central Hill Country
Central Hill Country centers around San Antonio and areas north. San Antonio is worth a visit, with the Alamo National Historic Landmark and the River Walk being popular stops. Head out to the smaller towns of Fredericksburg and Boerne to find wineries, live music, and unique personalities. Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is one of the most popular stops in Hill Country, renowned for the massive granite dome focal point. Climb to the top to take in the views. It offers tent camping and books well in advance. For easy access for tubing the Guadalupe River, check out Guadalupe River State Park, which has four miles of riverfront. Camping sites are available for both tents and RVs with hookups.
Western Hill Country
Western Hill Country gets farther from the urban centers. Bandera and Kerrville are small towns in the region. Located on the Frio River, Garner State Park is one of Hill Country’s most popular camping spots, with hiking trails and swimming holes.
