Our stay at Tent Site #2 at Boulderdash Cabin & RV Park was absolutely wonderful! Carol-anne and Lyn were amazing hosts—friendly, responsive, and super thoughtful. They provided helpful tips before our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed for a great experience. The site was peaceful and well-kept, surrounded by nature and just steps from the Medina River. Even though it was a short hike to the bathrooms, we were well-prepared thanks to their clear heads-up and suggestion to bring a tent potty—especially useful since we were camping with our child. We appreciated the attention to detail, from the check-in process to on-site items like firewood and ice. The no-visitor and quiet policies helped make the space feel safe and relaxing for families. We made some great memories here and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors!

We absolutely loved our stay! We spent the weekend kid free celebrating our 13 year anniversary & couldn’t help but talk about how much the kids would have loved it! Will definitely be back sometime soon with the kids! Plenty of areas to swim or sit in the water and enjoy the absolute peacefulness of the flowing water and watching the sunset!

Awesome, family-friendly stay! All the creature comforts you need (plus even more than we are used to- a warm shower, towels and bedding provided, a well-stocked kitchen!) Campground is a short walk to the beautiful Guadalupe River! We had 7 kids across 3 tipis and everyone had a blast! The kids could roam safely around the campground games and grassy area while we cooked and relaxed. We can’t wait to go back!

Weekend Trip to Boulderdash Cabin & Camping

We loved camping out at Boulderdash! The campsites were clean and well maintained. There are amenities like freshwater, WiFi, and electricity available if you’d like, but it doesn’t feel like glamping. If you forget anything, Carol-Anne and Lyn have it handy. The riverside sites are a short walk to wading in the Medina river. The kids and dogs had a blast. Campers who come here should abide by the camp’s simple rule; don’t be a jerk. We’re looking forward to coming back as soon as possible!

Our stay at Mockingbird Farms was perfect! It was our 2 year olds first camping experience and the privacy and safety this land provided was perfect. He adored the donkeys and still can’t stop talking about them. The hosts were so generous to offer the cabin when it started raining and coffee on the cool morning. The outdoor bath also made for an extra relaxing evening. We have already made recommendations to friends and will definitely be back ourselves!

Weekend Trip to Lost Woods

We stayed at Site 1 for two nights. Mr. James was very kind and helped us rearrange our reservation when we realized that Site 13 was too far from the parking area—it would have been difficult to carry our XL tent. Site 1 felt private and gave us a great connection with nature. While there was some noise from Loop 1604, it wasn’t enough to be bothersome. It hardly felt like we were in the San Antonio metropolitan area. We definitely recommend this place and plan to come back someday to stay at Site 3.

Weekend Trip to Sparrow Bend River Retreat

This is definitely one of the best camping spots we have been to! Access to the river was very easy, even from up the hill, and the water was absolutely perfect. The restrooms were nice and clean. We stayed in Spot 2 with our travel trailer and we were grateful that no one booked Spot 1 next to us so we had a good amount of space and privacy. There were plenty of other people there but everyone was respectful and we were pretty spread out so the noise was minimal.

Weekend Trip to Secluded, great hill country views

We stayed at Hill Country Views on Farm #1 from May 2nd to May 4th and loved the peaceful, scenic setting. Even though we got hit with heavy rain the first night, the gravel road and well-maintained site made things manageable, and the ground dried up quickly around the road. The view is incredible, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. We camped in an Aliner Evolution 15 travel trailer and had easy access to electric and water hookups, with clean bathrooms just a short walk away. The host was friendly but gave us plenty of space, which we appreciated. I’d recommend this spot to anyone.. tent campers, RVers, or overlanders with rooftop tents will all feel right at home here.

This location has everything you need, restrooms, community sink, and amazing access to the river. The campgrounds are very clean, and the RV sites are perfect. Carol Ann and Lyn put their passion for camping and traveling into their property. And it shows. These people made us feel like we were family, and honestly just want you to have a great experience while you’re at Boulderdash. If I could give this place 10 stars I gladly would. 1 night at Sound Ground (fka Reverse Pioneers)

Lovely stay at the yurt, we were lucky enough to get to watch an epic Texas lightning show from the comfort of the deck. Directions were clear and easy to find even in the dark. Bring lots of firewood (no collecting on site) and some instruments and enjoy the Hill Country ambience.

My idea is to cater to riders of all kinds, If you have a need and I can help, I will. 19 miles away situated along a one-mile stretch of the spring-fed Blanco River, the small but mighty Blanco State Park is very family-friendly, offering the spectacular Falls Dam, nature trails, fishing, tubing, kayaking, and deep water for a good, refreshing swim. The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free). Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away. Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

Come for the day or stay the night for some primitive camping. We've got plenty of room for tents, roof-top-tent setups or car/van dry-camping. We’re currently in the building/restoring process, but we’ll have some electrical, drinking water, fire pits, plenty of shade, compost toilets, water in the river, and plenty of good vibes. Old Herrera Ranch has been in our family since the early 1800's and holds a lot history. A couple of our old buildings, the "jacals", are dated from around the 1830-40's. You'll also see the old "Dance Hall" which is great for hanging out or even some cover if it rains. They say that Santa Anna's army, invading from Mexico, may have crossed through our area on their way to the Alamo. This may be because our part of the river includes some of the more shallow areas of the Medina River. Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights. One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections. Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt. Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed. Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court. We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash. The owners live on the far side of the property. We do have an outdoor shower that is well water temperature. One RV spot is available with water/electrical hook up. No black water dump available. Boerne is about a mile and a half away. The closest gas station is less than a mile. Boerne has a 24 hour Planet Fitness with hot water showers. Many restaurant options nearby. Three miles from Boerne Lake. Historic Luckenbach and Fredericksburg Wineries are about a half hour away. Our land is inhabited by two sweet and lively dogs. You are responsible for removing all trash. If any garbage is left behind in your site you will be billed for the cleanup. We have a dumpster located near the front gate. Please use it and put all your trash in there. Heads-up! We have a small farm on the property. Dogs are always welcome and we LOVE our furry friends! For their safety and the safety of our livestock please keep them leashed while on property.
