We loved Boulderdash so much! It’s so quiet and peaceful. The water was perfect for the kids. The bathrooms were beautiful and clean. There was shade in all of the spots. We loved it so much we booked our next trip back while we were still there!

Boulderdash is a fantastic getaway. The hosts are just wonderful and so helpful. They have a little store where they stock ice and other stuff for sale. They will even rent a shade canopy to you so you can use it by the river. Their site was clean, and the Wi-Fi was great! We will definitely be staying there again. Travis and Raquel

Carol-Anne and Lyn were incredible host and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The campground was a really sweet layout with great views, close to the water and awesome amenities. Would be an especially great spot for a big group camp

Weekend Trip to Down Horn Ranch

We had a great time camping here. We were the only people on the entire property, so we had our run of the place. We actually ended up picking site #1 instead of #3. (The photo is of site #1). The property is big enough that even if all 6 sites were fully rented out, you would have complete privacy in whichever site you use. There's a bathroom & shower on the property which was nice & clean. It's a dirt road to sites 2-6, and I think for sites 4-6 you may be better off with a higher clearance vehicle and/or 4WD. You might be OK without it, but I'd say it's borderline through one little spot after site 3 where you cross a very small creek then drive up a hill. Overall this is a great property and I highly recommend it.

Beautiful area close to tubing rivers, New Braunfels and Gruene . The Swimming hole was the highlight for us ! Great camping spot ! The hosts were great , making sure our stay went well. Felt very safe as the property is gated. Surprisingly very little bugs/mosquitos in area where we camped

We camped here and the layout is fantastic, the amenities were absolutely fantastic. Great showers with a/c units inside and a decked out kitchen area to cook meals. The vibes were great, especially when the sun starts to go down, the lights and everything were just great. I’d definitely see me and my partner coming here again, it was a great and comfortable experience nestled in the hills.

For first time campers for tent camping this was freaking perfect! We enjoyed our time so much and it was amazing that they had the kitchen with all your needed tools and the the den was so fun! But we enjoyed ourself so much we are plnnninh to return with our friends!

Unbelievably sweet experience. Host was caring and accommodating. The grounds were impeccably kept and stunning. The facilities were sparkling clean and beautifully crafted. Stayed in the RV since all of the A-frames were booked and it was equipped with everything I needed, including a little jackery so I was able to plug in and do some work. She really thought of everything. But I would say the best part was waking up to fresh complimentary (artisanal?!) pour over coffee and an outdoor shower. The bulletin board in the kitchen was also very informative about local happenings and things to do so I got the tip to stop at center provisions on my way out of town and stock up on treats! The only thing I would change is having been able to stay longer. Hope to be back. Really special

4 nights at Secluded, great hill country views

If you’re looking to visit San Antonio or to just relax this is a great place to stay! We stayed here for a few days in the rv and it was great. We had our 4 dogs and the views from where you park the RV was beautiful! We came in the dark and it was difficult to find the area but during the day it’s easy to maneuver. A very safe area and we felt safe the entire time. There’s a private swimming area ( was beautiful and fun for the dogs) cows are just by the swimming area. Such a beautiful place to camp at. We went to Guadalupe river ( a MUST see) if you want a days of swimming with the dogs or kids! Would return!

Our stay at Tent Site #2 at Boulderdash Cabin & RV Park was absolutely wonderful! Carol-anne and Lyn were amazing hosts—friendly, responsive, and super thoughtful. They provided helpful tips before our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed for a great experience. The site was peaceful and well-kept, surrounded by nature and just steps from the Medina River. Even though it was a short hike to the bathrooms, we were well-prepared thanks to their clear heads-up and suggestion to bring a tent potty—especially useful since we were camping with our child. We appreciated the attention to detail, from the check-in process to on-site items like firewood and ice. The no-visitor and quiet policies helped make the space feel safe and relaxing for families. We made some great memories here and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors!

Come live The Hye Life! Welcome to our property located in Hye, at the beginning of the Texas Wine Trail. French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Not to be missed is the Garrison Brother's Bourbon Distillery, less than a mile down the street – you could even walk to all three! Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights. One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections. Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt. Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed. Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court. We welcome dogs, but it is your responsibility to manage their interactions with other guests' pets. Due to potential gaps or larger openings in the fencing, we recommend keeping your dog on a leash. The owners live on the far side of the property. The rest of the property is left natural for wildlife, so expect uneven terrain, tall grasses, and yes sometimes scorpions, spiders and snakes along with deer, armadillo, wild turkeys, and lots of songbirds.

The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free)

The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Kaz father was Asperger's Autistic and from 5 years old started showing Kaz hands on learning skills that are still instilled in her today! She found this to be a Valuable Lesson from her Dad. These methods and skills through the years working with her own children and other children through the years with different organizations confirm to be very beneficial and encouraging for the children growing up. Bill and Kaz have shared equally through all they’re projects during they’re 40 years of marriage. They’re Jack Of All Trades, Artists, Shown in Art Shows, Remodeled Homes, Churches, Work on the Ranch Together, and Etc. They are able to teach others how to do things that can benefit kids till they graduate and have a better understanding of what they want to do in their lives as an adult and PLUS have the mentoring to guide them through life. The Ranch has its main Mission to work with youth but is open to Renting the Ranch House that Sleeps 1 to 20 guests, and RV/5th Wheeled Campers Camp Sites and Tent Camping for them to Enjoy the Marvels that God has Created and Lot's to Experience, Explore, and Observe! Area is surrounded by cedar, mesquite, cypress oak and a small field. Creek bed that feeds lake. Many types of birds, butterflies and spiders to observe. Deer, fox and turkey have been seen. Grocery Store and dump station is a few miles down road. Community area near water allows access for water vessels. Public boat ramp near by on next property. Experienced Motor cycle Groups welcome. Site 4 is currently under construction for a sail boat shelter. Great fishing and kayaking river access on location. Sites 1,2,3, will have a table and fire ring with flat surface. Sites 5 and 6 are in the sticks and setting is raw land with no grooming. This is not the Ritz! This is raw land with no electricity and no running water. There are torches and solar lights at three sites. Seclusion, privacy, and peace can be found here.
