Lake is full of Blue gill, bass, crappie, catfish. Since it's private lake there is no need for fishing license. Guest are welcome to explore most of acreage, pet donkeys, watch wildlife. We have fishing poles, Jon boats, motorized barge available for rent. There is fire pit, gas grill (please don’t put charcoal in it) , diving board (when lake is full, ask or check if ok to use). No food is provided you must bring your own, don't forget your coffee, there is a coffee pot but not coffee. No toiletries are provided. Site is 10 minutes from Stephenville, 3 miles from County Store in Huckabay. Linens, towels provided. Board games are available if requested, Wii, ping-pong table, outdoor games, trampoline on site. Land owners located across lake and may be on lake or available as needed. GPS should get you here. You will go past Little Off Ranch house, follow road to lake house. Keys will be left out on porch on arrival day. Wi-Fi is now available but no cable television. TV is available to use for Wii or DVD/VHS. Large collection of movies available. Pets are welcome as long as they don’t damage home, chase cows, kill chickens or are dangerous to others. There is an extra fee for pets. Stumbled upon this magical place. So pleased we stayed an extra night. We as in my pets and I.
Pet friendly!
Caretaker of property is available for anything but keeps to himself. His awesome dog Thor feels like a safe watchdog.
There is community property near so you may encounter that.
The history, structures and ability to explore them are really something to experience.
The property is covered with old oak trees that are unique on a whole other level.
Johnnie is generous , communicative and happy to share the history of Cisco.

While I did end up having a great time..However..I saw a photo of the Riverside Campground where I stayed on the Hipcamp app which is what made me wanna book it….and it didn’t look anything like where I actually camped. I made the best of it though and pitched my tent in such a way it was overlooking the river. The fishing was great and the area is quite..But I also kinda felt like I was being watched..Idk..maybe it had something to do with the sign that said 24 hour surveillance that’s posted on the gate. I didn’t meet the host personally but she was communicating through the app which is fine. She seems Ike a very nice lady. I just wanna know where the spot was on the photo I seen. That’s where I envisioned I’d be camping.

Great tent campsite right on the riverbank—very private and peaceful. The host, Ted, is wonderful and really goes above and beyond. There are a lot of positives here, like free use of kayaks and canoes and even a late checkout if the site isn’t booked.
I love to camp and fish, and this place delivered on both. We caught crappie, catfish, perch, even a gaspergou—and a turtle. Being able to gather firewood and enjoy a fire by the river made the experience even better. My son and I had an awesome time and will definitely be coming back.

I really enjoyed this spot along a creek feeding the Brazos River that's just a walk away from camp. I was able to take a shower (cold) and charge up my power station. It was quiet, secure, and I stayed for a couple of days. Definitely will return next time I'm in the area!

Originally we were in site 3 but we went to site 2 ( our friends in site 1) it was tight becuz we bothered in 42ft toy hauler 5th wheels.
Lakeside Cisco Rentels had everything we needed. The store was a plus. If ever in the area again definite return stay.
One thing it would be even nicer for longer stay ppl to have a small laundry room like in the club house.

Beautiful view! We stayed here for a week in our 44ft 5th wheel. Our friends in their 40ft 5th wheel also stayed here. We were in site 1 & our friends were supposed to be in site 3. They would have had to raise a power line to get in the spot, so no go. We managed to get both our 5th wheels in sites 1 & 2. It was awkward & tight. I wouldn’t recommend these sites for large rigs like ours. It’s right by the road on 2 curves. The sites are gravel & there’s a drop off about 12 ft out our front door, the way we’re parked. so I would be very cautious with children & pets.
Jason who runs the rentals is very nice & accommodating. You have access to the store, docks & pavilion up the hill. The sunsets are amazing. We would recommend this place but we would suggest smaller rv’s.

Host was very accommodating and attentive without being at all intrusive. Even took our 5 yr old around with us on his side by side to introduce us to his burros! This was a really convenient stop off the highway. As a result there was some traffic noise (I was in a soft sided pop up) but it didn’t bother me, and was well worth the convenience. Andy and Wendy were friendly and clear communicators. Finding the spot was easy. Would definitely stop again if I was passing through!

We stayed last weekend at Riverside Campsite in Jim Ned Front Gateway and had a great experience. The site felt secluded and peaceful, with a nice fire ring, some wood nearby, and one of the best features being the open river access right at the edge of camp. It made it easy to fish while still being able to cook, relax, and enjoy camp at the same time.
Ted was very welcoming, and the included kayaks were a huge bonus, especially for the very reasonable price. The river is beautiful and flows into Brownwood Lake after about a 20-minute kayak trip. We did see a few fishing boats and pontoon boats pass by occasionally, but it still felt calm and enjoyable.
This site works well for more than just tent camping. We drove our dually truck with a pop-up truck camper in without any trouble. There is no electricity or water at this site, but Ted does offer RV sites if that better fits your needs.
Overall, this is a very nice place and somewhere we definitely want to return. I know people sometimes hesitate to leave good reviews for places they want to keep to themselves, and I understand that, but this spot is worth recommending. If you like simple camping, fishing, kayaking, and peaceful river access, give this place a try.

I had a great time at the little off lake house with my dog. There was plenty of room for him to run and explore off leash. The lake and the boat were amazing too. Lots of privacy, but the host checked in on me to make sure I had everything I needed! The house itself did indeed have everything you could want. Thanks Kellie and Lindell for a great weekend and I hope to come back soon!
