My son and I had a great time here. My son loved the river. This particular spot is by the main entrance so not secluded but real close to the showers. Hosts were great.

Camping at Boulderdash was absolutely amazing. We rented tent site 1 and our friends rented tent site 2 and it worked perfectly to have that area together. The sites were clean, quiet and had awesome amenities including the outdoor kitchen area to share with each other. This made washing dishes, charging devices and washing hands so easy. The river is beautiful despite being low and there is easy access to it. They are pet friendly as long as your pet is friendly and that's a huge plus. The hosts were so kind as well, they even put on an easter egg hunt for all the kids on site Saturday night. I can't say enough great things and will definitely be back.

Fantastic camping spot! We booked out both of the river spots so that we had more room and privacy. It was perfect! The walk up to the bath house wasn’t bad at all. Facilities were nice and clean and cared for. We didn’t use the WiFi. The sink and electric were very conveniently located. There was an issue with the outlets, but the hosts were super quick to respond and got us set up with alternate electricity sites in the meantime. Incredibly accommodating. Being next to the water was perfect! The dogs loved it. Plenty of flat spots for tents and parking. Beautiful site. I’ve camped quite a bit within about a 3 hour radius of Austin, and this has been the best! Loved it

We had a great time camping at Fritz’s ranch! The Ridge is an awesome site. It’s perfect for sunrise, sunsets and stargazing. It was a nice flat area with a large fire ring and two perfect trees for hanging the hammock. It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for beauty and seclusion. 10/10 would recommend.

We were met by Al himself and given a tour of the land and then upgraded to a better spot complete with a phantastic Merry Prankster inspired bus to hang out in! Had to leave a night early but will 10/10 return!

We had a full group out this weekend and this spot did not disappoint! The views throughout the property were amazing and the drive in was a site to behold. Fritz and Ken were extremely hospitable and welcoming. The property is beautiful. Looking forward to taking my wife out later this year.

Fantastic camping on some of the most beautiful land in Texas - this place seriously rivals all Texas state parks. Beautiful topography combined with natural springs and diverse wildlife make this ranch a must see. We saw quail, turkey, whitetail, red stag (including an albino), javelina, horned frog, bass, sunfish, etc. The landowner and his assistant were extremely helpful when it came to booking the reservations, driving directions and navigating the property. Also, there are no cattle on the property, which is nice when it comes to walking around (no landmines to avoid).

My buddy and I decided to test out our new calling set ups at LAF. It was a decent drive but worth it. The owner is very nice and informative. The description was accurate, you cannot beat the views from the ridge. We spent time checking out each campsite, each offer a cool and unique experience. Best part besides the views, no cell service. Unplug from everyday life and enjoy nature.

Very relaxing and peaceful stay! It was a nice change from the bustling cities of Austin and San Antonio. My family was able to reconnect without electronics for an evening. Beautiful view amidst the rain.

Weekend Trip to Boulderdash Cabin & Camping

It was such a fun experience staying at Boulderdash! We had our 3 kids, ages 2,4,8 and they all had something fun to do. We enjoyed the river, riding our bikes around our tent site, hiking at hill country state park, and exploring the property. Beautiful views from the grilling area, got to see some hummingbirds right next to us. Overall lovely time.

Beautiful property to explore with endless hills and water holes. Our family (kids & dog) loved every minute of it and we especially liked the lack of cell service so we could truly disconnect! We hope to be back soon.

Very private with plenty of varied terrain for hiking swimming, tubing, biking or just hanging out in a hammock enjoying the breeze and peace and quiet. About 2 miles as a crow flies from Lost Maples State Park. You drive through a 13,000-acre ranch to get to us. We are at the end of a dead-end road with one way in and one way out. NO FISHING Free firewood for use during your stay and can make a good deal if you want to take some home! As our topo map shows we have a wide variety of terrain ranging from steep cliffs with huge views to shady canyons. The river cuts through the middle of the place and is surrounded by four hills that each have their unique characteristics ranging from flat oak-covered to rocky steep ridges. I guarantee you will find beauty all around. We do have a couple of fun areas to try your 4-wheel drive out. Please dont make your own....stay on trails. There are plenty of places to swim. When the Ladder is reserved, you may not swim there. Please be respectful. We have 1.5 miles of both sides of the river so plenty of places to swim. It varies a lot in depth and width over the ranch. Every camp spot has access to all the swimming holes except the ladder when it is booked. The main swimming holes are-- 1. Below the Green Cabin 2.
