Our location is phenomenal we are an hour from Knoxville and Asheville and just about 1/4 mile off I-40. Right at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and 35 minutes from Gatlinburg about 40 minutes to Pigeon Forge (Dollywood), also about 45 minutes to Sevierville and one of my favorite Tanger Outlets!! The beautiful Smoky Mountains the National Park is filled with hiking trails and horse stables and trails. Some of the best white water rafting is less then 5 miles up the road along with zip lining and a lil taste of moonshine here and there. This property is primitive with no electric and has a camping style bathhouse. IT’s recommended for outdoor lovers and people that are not too needy. Hurricane Helene brought unforecasted changes in the land but the tranquility of the River remains. We have worked to restore as much as we could. As for us it’s still our happy place in the Smoky Mountains!

You will have access to three swimming areas on Big creek where you can float or just take a dip and cool off. We honestly didn’t realize how badly we needed a place like this until we got here. From the moment we arrived, we were completely overwhelmed by how beautiful and peaceful the property was. The pictures truly don’t do it justice. Being right on the river, surrounded by trees and mountains, listening to the water all day, sitting by the fire at night under the string lights, and waking up to that view was incredibly relaxing. We spent so much time just sitting outside, watching the river, letting our dog enjoy the property, and actually slowing down for once. There’s something special about this place. It didn’t just feel like somewhere we rented for a few days; it felt like an escape from everything. We came here expecting a nice getaway and left realizing it was exactly the reset we didn’t know we needed. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, private, beautiful, and genuinely relaxing, this is it. We absolutely loved our stay and already miss sitting by that river. We would come back without hesitation. 5 stars, easily.

It was very quiet. We were on site 5 the best in my opinion. We did not have pets this trip but they are welcome here. If you want a fire on your site you will need to bring a portable fire pit. They have a community one but we wanted to relax alone by the fire. The river was wonderful to cool off in. It is right off the road so there was some road noise but nothing bad.

This was a dream location for a very peaceful getaway. Our only regret is we had to leave to meet others, next time we stay parked. The river is so relaxing, the property is superb, and friendly owners. The fire pit area is perfect for a late night with friends.

Weekend Trip to River Refuge campsite

Hannah and her husband Andy were extremely accommodating to our requests and went above and beyond with providing firewood, river toys, and even fish food for their stocked pond. The site felt very private and the access to the river was amazing. I would love to stay at their Hip Camp again, and highly recommend to anyone in the area!

We had a wonderful time at Crows landing! Nice and quiet, neighbors were friendly! The spot is perfectly located to everything you need at the resort! One night a Bear came walking through to cross the road! We can't wait for our next adventure here!

We really enjoy this site. We have camped here before and have booked it again for October. The site has full hook-up, CATV and wifi. We fished in the pond. My daughter caught 3 bluegill and a catfish broke my line. The site is neat and clean.

Weekend Trip to Green Creek Camp on Douglas Lake

We loved this campsite so much! It’s a pretty spacious area with a 2nd water and electric hookup if needed (our friends rented it with us) and having direct access to the lake was incredible. We spent so much time swimming and even rented their pontoon for an afternoon, which was a blast. The property is gorgeous, and the hosts (and their adorable dog!) were so welcoming and helpful. The site is pretty private and quiet, but gets full sun most of the day, so the boathouse was a great place to hang out and play games when it got too hot. The lake was pretty low by Labor Day, so the water in front of the site was too muddy to swim, but it was just a quick walk down to their main dock where we swam all afternoon. We honestly would have camped longer if we could! We’re already looking forward to coming back in May when the water is higher. We loved it!

Weekend Trip to Long Creek Haven

Great experience. Kim was on top of the communication so I knew exactly where to go and what to expect. She also gave me a nice recommendation for an adventure on my way in. When I got there, her and Rob were ready and extremely pleasant. The site was extremely peaceful, sitting directly along a quiet creek. I sat out and just enjoyed the sound of the water flowing for about 2 hours with my dog. Would absolutely recommend.

What a great experience with wonderful hosts! Mary and Steve are fabulous communicators and helpful with the stay and amenities while allowing privacy as well. The best of both worlds!! The location was great for us, pretty views, relaxing, and private enough while being close to the action. There are plenty of things to do at the site and on the lake or you can visit attractions. Mary offered up some food suggestions that were different and amazing. Ryder even made a new friend. Thanks Wiggy for being patient! Well worth the trip and we hope to visit again. Thank you!!!
