This is a very large private site with no other campers. We provide a large amount of firewood (bring something to split larger logs if desired). If you require more wood than supplied there will be an additional $25 charge. We also provide a fifty five gallon drum of water for washing and a five gallon container of drinking water. We have an outhouse that is sanitized prior to your arrival. You will have access to two swimming areas on Big creek where you can float or just take a dip and cool off. The closest town is Hot Springs, which is 20 minutes away and the Hot Springs are a definite must-see if that peaks your interest! The town itself is also pretty cool. There are some good shops, restaurants & our favorite hardware store!! Downtown Marshall is also close, about 25 minutes and has a lot to offer! Gr8 restaurants, thrifting and cute shops along the river.
Our property is about an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the adorable city of Asheville - which makes for a fantastic day trip with delicious restaurants, breweries, cool shops, and more! The Great Smokey Mountains and Deep Creek are about 1.5 hours away from the campsite. The Appalachian Trail is closeby and there are countless opportunities for stunning hikes. There's also kayaking, tubing, white water rafting opportunities as well as zip lining and horseback riding. There is something for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to share it with you!
Full disclosure:
We have a camera pointed at the entrance and one at the bath house door, which we can move around to make sure that when people check in they make it to the right spot since I manage remotely part of the year. We have regular yard maintenance, however, we are Country natural landscape, not parking lot type campground, so the grass is slightly higher in some small areas but truly those things are part of a sustainable and uniquely beautiful camping experience!

My Family and I absolutely loved our stay at Mark's property..The Creek and Swimming area were great and there is also alot of Great area's to Adventure around near by(we had our 4 wheelers and side by side(YES, Plenty of room to park your vehicle with a trailer)Just be Curtious!..Mark is a very pleasant and helpful host and really wants your stay to be a good one..Great personality!! He has a very nice and well stocked Snack Shack for Ice, Candy, Soda, Chips, or even a cold Ice cream on a warm afternoon, which was nice after Hiking around or Swimming..My Grandchildren loved to walk down and visit Marks animals as well.. We will definitely be returning visitors in the future!!

Such a wonderful place to stay while enjoying a small slice of the AT. The kitchen has everything one needs to prep meals and two fridge/freezers. The bath house was much appreciated. Everyone we met was so friendly. It was lovely to wake up to see the trees and mountains. Loved the trails on the property, especially the lookout point. If I’m ever back in this area, this is where I’ll stay.

We had a delightful stay at Creekside! Loved our site right beside the creek (all three are), and though we were the only tenters this cool, damp weekend, even if the other two sites were occupied there’s nice space between. Nice big stone fire rings and a permanent grill grate beside the picnic table. Porta-pot was clean and stocked. About 22 minute drive from Hot Springs. Will choose Creekside again whenever we’re nearby!

Though listed as a primarily RV site, we tent camped. The grass was cut low so we had no problem setting up. The views are incredible and the area is very quiet. The road behind the site has almost no traffic because there are only a couple more houses up the road. John and Jenni were great and, it turns out, own another site we stayed at last year! Sit by the fire, watch the mists roll in and out, and enjoy the long-range views!

My wife and I spent three nights here for a little get away, and it was amazing! Wood was available on site for purchase, the bath house was in good shape and the campsites were clean and easy to find! The host was INCREDIBLE! We had an issue with our vehicle battery, and they came to save the day! We will be returning in the future and we highly recommend camping here!

I dont know where to start on how wonderful my trip was. I arrived and Mark helped me set up my tent (I was there alone with my three dogs) and also helped me set up a run line for them. Dogs are allowed off leash so I took advantage of that too. There is endless space to explore and its quiet and private and beautiful. There is endless miles of creek to explore and one spot is great for swimming (dogs and people). The water is crystal clear. The views from the field at sunrise and sunset are breathtaking, and Mark and his wife go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need. They even gave me five more gallons of drinking water. The bathroom is also super clean too. I spent an entire day sitting by that swimming hole with my dogs alternating between drawing, reading, and swimming with the dogs. For almost a week I felt my stress melt away and didnt have an ounce of anxiety and was so happy and relaxed. I will 100% be back here again and again.

We had an absolute blast on Carrie's property. It was private and expansive with plenty to do. The firepit was perfect for cooking and sitting around. Plenty of space for tents and activities! The hosts were incredibly kind and provided everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. We will definitely be returning.

Loved the area. VERY hidden. The site was absolutely gorgeous, clean and well maintained. Only suggestion I would make is to have a trash can available so campers can dispose of their garbage easily. Other than that the area is fantastic. I will definitely be booking again 💕🫶🏼

This is truly a gem of a Hipcamp. The property is beautiful and private. Can't rave enough about the Snack Shack and having that available. The property is very expansive and we didn't even begin to truly explore it all. There's a composting toilet that is clean and dry, plenty of firewood for morning and night campfires, and plenty of usable and clean water available. The only thing is to understand is that this is a mountain property and the large campsite is on a slight slope so plan appropriately for your tent set ups. You can also tell that Mark genuinely is proud to make his property a great spot for visitors and it shows in all of the work he puts into it.

I loved tent camping on Montie’s land. I enjoyed receiving Montie’s guide to local attractions, and we completed activities from his list! There was a porta potty, fire ring, picnic table, and benches available for available our use. There was some car traffic near the site, but it was minimal. I would recommend!

One of the absolute highlights was the nearby creeks. On warm summer days, they are an absolute dream. Crystal-clear, refreshing, and inviting—you can spend hours swimming, relaxing, and just soaking in the tranquility. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you don’t want the day to end. It’s clear Mark and Angie have thought of everything to make their guests feel comfortable and cared for. Their hospitality truly stands out. They are warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing their beautiful space with others. You can feel the care and intention they’ve put into every detail of the property. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our next trip back. Had a great time camping here. Being right on the river and near the woods was great. The site was clean and has conveniently located bathrooms a very short walk from the sites. You can hear some cars at night but not bad at all. Hopefully will return in the future!

The two biggest things this spot has going for it are the views and the peaceful quiet. Those are the pros. The biggest con is that is it does sit basically right on the road. That was a little unexpected looking at the pictures. That being said, there was very little traffic, only a few specific trucks that we saw going by that lived up the road a little way. The fact that there is a cottage/house (I believe the host lives there) right in the front of the parking spot is also not a plus, but was evident in the photos so not a surprise. If you’re looking for a spot where you’ll be completely by yourself and no one will see you, this is not it. If you’re looking for a spot where you’ll have some woods to explore, walking trails, or hikes, this is not it. If sitting outside looking at the mountains and sky and sitting with your thoughts and you don’t mind the occasional car coming or going is your jam, you'll be good here. The host was just right in terms of communication. We didn’t need him for anything other than the welcome emails/directions he sent so he left us alone. We had no trouble finding the place. We never lost signal, even though he said we would. We did not have any trouble accessing it, even though we are brand new to towing a camper. Altogether, we had a very nice stay, and we did enjoy it thoroughly. Just know what this spot is, and isn’t, before you book so that it will meet your expectations.
