The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek. There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area. Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite. Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. This is a very large private site with no other campers. We provide a large amount of firewood (bring something to split larger logs if desired). If you require more wood than supplied there will be an additional $25 charge. We also provide a fifty five gallon drum of water for washing and a five gallon container of drinking water. We have an outhouse that is sanitized prior to your arrival. You will have access to two swimming areas on Big creek where you can float or just take a dip and cool off. There is a small “Snack Shack” where you can purchase eggs, ice, candy and snacks. We are located at the foot of Rocky Top mountain with scenic trails accessible with off road vehicles or four wheel drive vehicles. This spot was exactly the breath of fresh air I needed. The sites were beautifully maintained, the views were stunning, and the hosts were wonderfully communicative. I ended up extending my stay—twice! I even caught the northern lights during the solar flares, which made the whole experience feel magical. Sitting beside the creek was the perfect way to slow down and enjoy the day—it added a gentle rhythm to the whole trip. The location is peaceful yet close enough to town to be convenient. Seriously, the creek was lovely, the site (#10) was perfect for us but I was most impressed with the port-a-potty. Someone takes really good care to keep it clean which is most appreciated for those of us who don't have bathrooms in our campers.

From the minute we arrived, Mark was there ready to show us around & help with anything we needed. He brought us firewood, home grown peppers & homemade pickled jalapeños. He had water for us there, as well as a fully stocked “market” where we bought chips, ice & popsicles. The spot was perfect for our group of 5. We had plenty of room, a picnic table & a fire pit. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone looking for a private camping experience close to the Smokies.

Build a camper out of a 1991 GMC box truck had to give it a shake down test of all systems and failures. Spent 26 days at this campground it's very nice and private, stayed @ # 2 site plenty of open space. The owners are great and very caring, also it's about 2 miles down the road for shopping with every restaurant chain and amenities I was completely blown away. Making upgrades and will return for another month of shake down testing, this vehicle is completely off grid it's being debug at this campground before bringing it to my mountain property with same condition. Site # 10 is beautiful and private.

Danny was super nice. He helped us settle and gave recommendations for the local area that we were able to use. The location is close to the downtown area of the small town and not too far from things to do. The site itself was very clean and level and well taken care of and right on the water. It's a little difficult to get down to the stream but it's beautiful nonetheless. A great place to stay awhile.

Dylan is an excellent host! He gave us our privacy His dogs are so sweet, they'll wander around but they listen well. It feels odd camping on the side of someone's driveway, however, youre within 12 minutes of a gas station and stores and it's so quiet! Would definitely recommend for a quick getaway with 4 people max. May be a tight fit for 2 tents. Definitely coming back!
