Highland Meadows Resort sits on 12.5 acres atop a private mesa in Hot Springs, South Dakota. The resort features four private cabins, two glamping tipis, and an earth home on the upper mesa — and a campground on the lower mesa. Tipis are equipped with a king-size bed, sleeper sofa, and basic kitchenette. There's a shared wood fire pit, laundry facilities, horseshoe pit, and a private bath w/ shower for each tipi. Tipis also come with a pack and play for one extra infant/toddler. Kitchenettes come with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and some basic place settings. The campground has several tent and RV sites, each with their own fire pit, picnic table, and power. The campground has a common area for larger gatherings and flush toilets with sinks. There are several water spigots in the campground as well: two near the restrooms and one at each RV site. Highland Meadows Resort is located near The Mammoth Site, Wind Cave, Cold Brook Reservoir, and local hot springs. It's a short drive from Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore.

This is the only campground resort in the Southern Black Hills with a private lake offering a unique opportunity to relax, disconnect, and enjoy life in a natural setting and guests have been enjoying it for over 100 years. We have a variety of cabins with different floor plans ranging from studio to four bedrooms. All cabins have full bathrooms and all have full kitchens except for our studio cabins. All of our sites are full hook-up with sewer, water, and electric with 20, 30, and 50 amp services at each site. Our pull-through sites are big rig-friendly and are between 60-75 feet long. Our biggest feature is our private spring-fed lake! You can enjoy soaking in the sun, floating in the water, taking a spin around the lake in a canoe, and of course fishing!

Coyote Crossing is a beautiful valley just south of the Great Black Hills of South Dakota. If you want to experience the prairie, we have grassland, wooded areas, and even sand and sage spots, if that's what you're into! There's many acres of trees along Horsehead Creek to explore with many cottonwoods over 100 years old and hidden groves. Our RV rental and dry camp sites all come with access to our gathering area with the chickens and goats for live entertainment! Feeding the goats and gathering your own eggs is an option here! There is an outside bathroom, horseshoe pits, fire pit and covered seating in case the weather gets moody. Just 5 miles from the property are all the water activities you can imagine at the Angustora Reservoir and Recreation area with beaches, docks, and multiple eating establishments. 10 miles away is the beautiful town of Hot Springs where you can find bones at the Mammoth Site or take a dip in the healing waters of Moccasin Springs or the historic Evan's Plunge! Just beyond town is Wind Cave Nat'l Park where you can see buffalo and other wildlife. Mt Rushmore is only 30 miles further, along with the Crazy Horse Memorial! There's just too many sites to explore in our area to list! If you're into gambling, Prairie Winds Casino is just a 20 minute drive. 42 miles to the south is Fort Robinson State Park where you can visit the museum and explore the old army post. Chadron State Park is also there, along with Toadstool Park. We do harvest our alfalfa up to 3 times each season. So if you'd like to see how that is done, inquire on the timing!

Good location for visiting Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, and Mammoth Site of Hot Springs. Hidden Lake is clean, quiet, and has great trails for walking our dogs. If in the area, we would stay there again.

Hidden Lake was a little slice of paradise. While we were the only ones in a tent and not an RV, people were nice and we had a blast swimming and paddle boarding on the lake. Tons of wildlife and the bathrooms were well located and clean. Amazing stay, would definitely recommend!

Andrea was amazing and so kind to us! She responds very quickly and you can tell she puts in a ton of effort into making the space homey for people coming to visit. We camped in our car at her dry site and felt incredibly safe and taken care of. We loved being able to see all the goats, chickens, ducks, and two kitties Fredrick and Dora! 🥰 The bathhouse was very clean and comforting as well. Would 100% recommend coming to stay here!

The camp has everything you need. The neighbors were all friendly and quiet at night. The lake was wonderful in the July heat. The views of the surrounding hills are amazing. Lots of good food in town, and Moccasin Hot Springs are totally worth a visit.

A lot of great memories were made here and I'm excited to come back in the future. Hidden Lake is probably the best name for this location, tucked away on a nice little pond. The RV park isn't like a normal jam packed commercial park - Hidden Lake was quite and pristine. All of the patrons were respectful and kind individuals with no issues. Some practical information - Very large spaces for full coach busses and large fifth wheels. The property is a large circle so you can always circle around. Sewage lines, electricity, and water available on most of not all spots. The lake is small but large enough to swim for the kiddos (watch for the snapping turtles!). The water is incredibly clear for a lake. They have a few canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats with life jackets that you can use as long as you sign a waiver. We fished both from the shore and on a canoe and we caught about 8-9 trout, perch, etc... all catch and release. They have a few rods they let us borrow. Worms for sale at the office. There's a shower house with bathrooms for men and a separate for women - both were very clean. Very close to downtown Hot Springs and a comfortable distance away from rapid city. Hot Springs downtown has some cool shops and restaurants worth checking out. Mammoth site is about 7 minutes away. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. Our kids I believe will have developed some core memories here. I look forward to coming back a second time!
