Learn more about this land:One can expect a wonderful wilderness experience at Earthganic Farm’s riverside camping. The path down to the sites is drivable in a truck, SUV, or van. There’s always the option to park up at the house and walk down (it’s a ten minute walk from the house to the river) and if you let us know ahead of time, we can bring your camping stuff down for you. We have two single kayaks that we rent for $15/day and you can put them in right on property and kayak up and down the river. Our homestead is home to our family, chickens, and a livestock guardian dog.
Most of our 12+ acres are wooded and our property backs up to thousands of acres of public forest land owned by Clemson University. A trail connects our backyard to the main network of hiking/mountain biking trails in Clemson Forest. For those familiar with the forest, our property is in the vicinity of Wildcat Technical, Wounded Road, and Chainbreaker trails.
As private and wooded as our property is, we are only 10-15 minutes from downtown Clemson and less than 10 minutes from the small towns of Central and Six Mile. Lakes Hartwell and Keowee are also short drives.
We currently offer a single campsite, which can accommodate several tents or a camper van. Our campsite features a composting toilet outhouse, and water is available from spigots at our house if needed. Though fairly close to our house, the campsite has a very private feel due to being completely surrounded by a hardwood forest.

You will need towels/rags/soap/toilet paper and all essentials. It is merely a toilet, sink, and shower.
There is a Weber charcoal grill available on site. Bring your essentials.

We do allow eating size catfish under 5lbs to be taken from lake. Large catfish and all other types of fish are catch and release only. No fishing license required. Free use of kayaks and a canoe on an undeveloped 18 acre lake is included when you camp here. Several miles of trails, dirt roads and streams wind through hundreds of acres which you are free to explore.
The property has been owned by members of our family for 75 years or more with areas of it family-owned since the 1800's. A large portion of the property is dedicated to sustainable loblolly pine forests dating back to the 1980's. A significant area of the property is dedicated to native hardwood forest and has some of the oldest and largest white oak, poplar, elm and shortleaf pines in the upstate. The remainder of the property is pasture; home to Black Angus cattle. We look forward to sharing this unique property with you!

We took a group of 8 dudes out camping, and we had a blast! The hike was just out far enough to make it a true camping experience without having your car right there. They provided kindling for us, and the river flowing nearby made for a cozy and calm night! My buddies and I are already planning our next time to come out!

host is a very nice gentleman. cares greatly about his place was kind enough to show how to use the facilities and even gave a bit of a history lesson about the area... definitely would come back to this location

Decided to take a quick family trip before I leave for basic. Made many memories and had even more laughs. Well needed trip. John is a great host, friendly, super responsive and always on the move, offered more than was required by my account. Beautiful view of the river, shade from the sun in the camp, spacious sites and our favorite part was how the woods came alive after dark. Wonderful spot, we’d do it again. Thank you John for allowing my family and I the opportunity!

It's a great site, easy to get to , secluded and peaceful. Crickets sang me to sleep. The site is sloped, but the tent pad is flat enough. I definitely recommend this site and these hosts.

We had a great time at the Far Out spot! Loved how close it was to the river, and the camping area was well cleared out but still had a nice tree canopy. Walk to get there was not far, despite the name :) but you do feel very private, which is great. 10/10

This campsite was incredibly private and peaceful, with beautiful scenery all around. The views were absolutely breathtaking—truly a million-dollar view! It was a perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and get away from the crowds. We really enjoyed our stay.

Really clear communication on how to get to the spot. Great spot, we stayed at The Hideaway and we were able to get there in our 35 ft RV. It was beautiful quiet and private . Right on a river too which was pretty cool.
