This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. Founded in 1955 as a campground, amusement park and pay to fish lake, lake lucy has a rich history of having families spending time together. After the death of lake lucys founder Raymond Mealy in 2007 the amusements and train were all removed as well as the zoo. The Steinman family purchased the property in 2017 and began remodeling the pavilion and putting in water and sewer lines to be able to use the campground and pavilion again. We are within a few miles of a dollar store if any supplies are needed, a gas station is at the end of the road and we are only a few minutes from cook forest as well as the tionesta reservoir. Water is available on site for campers and campers can use the bath house. In the bath house there is 1 full bathroom with a shower and the other bathroom is just a half bath. Welcome to our 40 hidden acres of paradise where we are surrounded by wildlife and raise much of our food including beef, pork, chickens and a productive garden. We have multiple campsites here from wooded to open field or by the pond so come and pick one that suits you best. We are adjacent to the Kennerdell Tract Of Clear Creek State Forest which has miles of hiking and biking trails as well as the Allegheny River which provides fishing, boating, kayak/ canoeing opportunities. There is also The Allegheny River Trail which provides miles of paved bike trails. What we offer: We are not a campground and do not offer multi-night stays We are vandwellers when we are traveling. As such we understand the problems associated with finding a spot to overnight. We offer just that, a safe, quiet stop over for the night. That being said, if you need an extra day feel free to ask, we often say yes. We enjoy our quiet country life and request limited use of generators, Thank You

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Seclusion

This was a perfect getaway with plenty space to setup a tent or hammock. It's also only 15 minutes away from a store if I forgot anything. Kate supplied plenty of split wood, picnic table, chair and bench. The view was amazing and I will definitely be back again!

Take one of the kayaks out for a spin on the pond!

1 night at Muddy Myst

Very easy to find, well kept, quiet campsite by the creek. Though the weather was quite cold, I really enjoyed my stay at Muddy Myst. The trails were easy to navigate and the pond was beautiful! Can’t wait to come back in the warmer months for a dip!! Can’t thank you enough Liam enough for the complimentary coffee- much needed after waking up in 30 degrees!!! Will definitely be back:)

My pup and I loved our overnight stay. The property is beautiful and quiet. We woke in the morning to a herd of deer walking through camp. Having electric available was a big bonus. We were car camping and being able to have a car heater to keep us cozy was perfect on a 30 degree night. My pup loved being able to be off leash.

This was our first stay at Muddy Myst after looking at it on Hipcamp for a while now! With the state parks closing it was the perfect time to try this place out, and it was amazing!! The hosts were amazing and made us feel right at home! Falling asleep listening to the creek all night was also amazing. Will definitely be back!!

3 nights at Clear Creek Cook Forest Campsite

This site is perfect! The road is a bit rough towards then end, but it’s a short distance. Do go to the left as Josh recommends! We went right without our camper to see and don’t, just don’t. The site is well kept and private and very big. Perfect to let our dog, Sully, roam free the whole time. It was his first camping trip. A+ for Sully. Already thinking about coming back next year. Thank you for the nice relaxing time!

Weekend Trip to Clear Creek Cook Forest Campsite

We absolutely love this campsite! This is not the first time we've been here, and certainly won't be the last! This site is absolutely perfect for our family and dog! It is private, quiet, beautiful and clean! Sitting at the campfire and staring into the woods is life-giving. Our kids and dog can run around without any worry. The electric and water hook ups are so nice to have as well! There are several picnic tables to use and an awesome fire ring. Pulling in and out are super easy because of the nicely graveled area! Don't let the road coming in discourage you...this is no indication of what you'll experience once you're there! We thank Josh and his family for allowing us to use the site again to end our 2025 camping season (we began with them too!) We will certainly be back in 2026!

Weekend Trip to River Hills Above the Allegheny

Such a beautiful location. The views were amazing. The hosts were super accommodating and kind. They were on site when we visited, and they offered to give my nieces and nephews a ride in their buggy. They had a blast. Kids and dogs loved trekking through the creek and exploring the waterfall. The open field was great for us to play all sorts of games. Played capture the flag at night. All in all a great time.

Our favorite place to camp! Third year in a row for us and our pups. We love the open flat land for our doggos to run.

Hammock, chair, firewood kindling under tarp, spool table provided, grill for in firepit, and a log for chopping kindling .

Nice, off-the-beaten-path campground with lots of ammenities, clean restrooms, and a wonderful community “HUB” for relaxing and getting connected. The only downside to our stay was that the site we picked (hard to see online what you might be next to…) was very close to a long-term camper who’s living space was about a foot away from our sewer dump. Made dump time a bit awkward. Otherwise, a very quiet and peaceful location that I’m sure will prosper in the coming years. Would definitely stay again.

The property was beautiful. However the road in was a little crazy. It was close to attractions like clear creek park, bear town rocks and the farmers inn and petting zoo. The cell service was in and out so be prepared for that. All and all it was a pretty good stay.
