Awesome secluded location perfect for my truck with rooftop tent. Would also work great for ground tents. The bathroom and shower were a big perk! Michael was a great host, will definitely be back!

We loved camping here again. The bell tent site is beautiful, surrounded by birdsong and flowering bushes at this time of spring. We were lucky to have some beautiful clear skies and warm weather for our visit and really enjoyed the peacefulness and solitude. Mike and Heather are always so welcoming and friendly! Thanks for having us!

Steveâs property is beautiful! We booked it last minute as a place to set up tents for the night as part of a 24-hour birding fundraiser, because we wanted to be in biking distance to Canoe Creek State Park. Steve responded within minutes of booking with clear directions and an invitation to choose any of the sites we wanted. He stopped by that evening to say hi and make sure we didnât need anything, and offered for us to call him if anything came up!
Meanwhile, the birding from the campsite was unexpected and excellent! Highlights among the 40 species we observed during our few short hours there include a Golden Eagle soaring off the mountain knob above, night flight calls of a Black-crowned Night Heron, and singing Scarlet Tanagers, Indigo Buntings, Hooded Warblers, and the ever-magical fluting of multiple Wood Thrushes.
All-in-all it was just what we needed for the night, and well worth the late pedal up Huntington Pike Road in the dark to get back to camp for a few hours of shut eye (and a distant âwho cooks for you allâ of a Barred Owl!)

Michael and Heatherâs campsites are stunning!! The campsites look beautiful, they gave me a welcome packet which was very kind and thoughtful, and have a hot water shower! Michael was also very kind when we chatted for a little bit. You literally couldnât ask for a more perfect campsite with more perfect hosts.

I absolutely loved this camping experience! The hosts were so helpful, welcoming and accommodating. I couldnât get over the beautiful outdoor (enclosed) shower and sparkling clean portapotty. Micheal met me and showed me to the spot along with providing a thorough folder of information and local attractions - letâs not forget the little welcome gift bag! I felt very safe being alone with my pup. If Iâm ever back down this way, itâll be the site I stay at again. Thank you!

This spot definitely exceeded expectation. The view is ridiculous...pictures just don't do it justice. Pavilion access allowed for very nice facilities as well as baseball and basketball for the kids. Fishing at Fort Halifax was easily doable and Lake Tobias is just down the road. We certainly plan on a return visit down the road

We really enjoyed staying at Michael's land, it was wonderful to be the only guest there and have privacy and sleep under dark skys. There were no neighbors close by, to that was also a plus! We were seeking solitute. thank you!

This is the most incredible site I have booked on Hipcamp (so far). The 360° views are absolutely breathtaking. No photo could ever do it justice. That said, having the amazing views also means that the site is exposed. Make sure to be prepared to secure your gear/tent down well if any wind is forecasted. I used a hot tent setup over the holidays and had an amazing time with my pup. Having a heated shower and bathroom available was a great amenity. 4 wheel drive would be recommended. I have a 2WD Honda Civic. While I able to make it up to the site, I could foresee having issues in bad weather. Audra was an amazing host and quick to respond. I will definitely be recommending this place to others and hope to return soon!

It was a secluded spot surrounded by woods, the night sky was one of the clearest Iâd ever seen, we saw many shooting stars. Micheal is very kind and made sure we had everything we needed, would definitely go back again.
