Red Maple Campsite: A large luxury private site that includes potable water and electricity on site, designed for a maximum 10 guests with on-site parking space that is 90ft long and 20ft wide, for an RV or 6-8 cars and overflow parking for several more cars. It is designed to be backed into with an RV and then pulled out of. This site can handle several tents and has two picnic tables, two portable toilets, a scenic overlook, hammock, fireplace, benches, a charcoal grill, and on-site string lights.

FYI:
- Firewood and farm fresh eggs are available from your hosts. Don't hesitate to reach out. We'll deliver!
- One kayak and one canoe are available for rent, however trasportation is not provided at this time. Contact your hosts for details.
- A picnic table, fire pit, and port-a-john are available at the campsite for your use.
-Please note, the campsite is located off a dirt road. Four wheel drive is recommended but not required.
- Hunting is prohibited at the campsite and the surrounding 10 acres, however hunters may be present in other areas of the mountain during the fall. Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Wifi is not available, however there is adequate cell phone reception for all common carriers.
-As always, leave no trace. A dumpster is available along the road for disposing of your trash as you leave.

Our property was once an overgrown field that in the past was strip mined for coal. This area was purchased by a local church congregation and has been transformed into a fun, peaceful picnic/recreation area. We are just minitues outside of Historic Berkeley Springs WV and 15 minutes from Cacapon State Park. You will have Great Views of the stars from your site. The sites are not far from our barn, and we will leave one tractor bay open for you, just in case it was to rain and you want to use it as shelter. The sites are not perfect level so you will have to level your camper a little. You will have your own fire ring and picnic table, also you will have access to fresh water. You will need a good size water hose if your going to hook up water to your camper from site 1. We have electric hookups that are 20amp Only. There is a clean outhouse but no shower at this time. We are working on making a shower. There is plenty of room for outdoor yard games. You will hear a little road noise and we do have neighbors. You will see me and my family out working around and feeding animals at times. The hosts house is not to far from the campsites. This is just a peaceful piece of property on a mini farm to get away and relax and explore Berkeley Springs WV. We are also only 15 minutes to Cacapon River for Kayaking and Swimming. We are also only 15 minutes to the C&O canal for hiking and biking. We do sell firewood for $7.00 that's around 13 pieces of wood. There is cornhole by the ice-cream shack that you are welcome to play. There will be more things added to the property in the near future. So come on out to the mountains and be our guest.

The Byrd's Nest is a river front, primitive campsite on the scenic Cacapon River in Great Cacapon, WV. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :)
This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out.
There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :)
*Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable.

This place has is all! Beautiful outdoors with birds chirping and the river moving swiftly. The owners were very kind. It was our first time using our camper and Rob took the time to explain how to fill up our water and empty our tank. We were able to utilize the fantastic back porch area, which was outfitted with tons of furniture, cooking equipment/tools, spices, coffee/tea, a fridge, fireplaces and games. We will definitely be back next year for some tubing, weather permitting.

We received very detailed instructions from Andrey which were so helpful in preparing for our trip and then he came by and introduced himself when we arrived. The property is beautiful and it looked like every site was equally as nice. We stayed on the South spot which was close to the bathhouse (maybe two minute walk) and right next to the Great Cacapon River. We had several cars, five large tents, one small tent, a large shade canopy and an enclosed shelter setup and we had plenty of room! Even though you can see the other sites, there is a generous amount of space between them. Would love to visit again!

We loved staying at the Star Lee Farm. The cabin was the perfect size for my husband and I. There was enough firewood for us to have a fire all day the one day and a few shorter ones as we needed other days. The walk to the outhouse was short and the views for that area to the surrounding mountains and trees was beautiful. The cabin was remote, we could see the other one through the trees if we tried but no one was staying there. They checked in via message a few times to make sure we didn’t need anything and restocked the bathhouse halfway through our stay. We were just a short drive from hiking at a state park which was great.

What a beautiful site right along the river! You can tell that Kara takes very good care of her campsite. The shower is luxurious and has all the amenities. The space was private and even though it rained while we were there the platform shelter was completely dry. Kara was available if we had a question and very kind. We would go there again and again.

Denise & Tony were absolutely wonderful hosts. Everything about our camp experience was above and beyond what I expected and my expectations were already pretty high based on previous reviews. The grounds were gorgeous and the brewery was an absolute quirky and quaint little gem! The brewery supplied us with drinks, food, live music, and a place to meet people. We went to nearby Berkley Springs for a soak, to Hancock for a ride on the C&O, and to Cumberland to spend a rainy afternoon and a hike to the Paw Paw tunnel! It was a perfect Mother's Day getaway and I can't wait to visit again!

We had a lovely time and would love to return. We stopped one night on the way and one night on the way home to break up our longer journey to western PA on our motorcycles. Directions and information were accurate and helpful. The family is very helpful at check in and with answering any other questions. It's an absolute oasis in the woods with a beautiful view of the valley. It's a great way to feel unplugged and relaxed while having all creatures comforts (hot shower, kitchen/grill, very comfy bed). After our first night's stay, we even made a point to get back early for our second night's stay to enjoy grilling, reading on the porch and relaxing listening to old records. My husband was inspired by all of the thoughtful, skillful wood working in the cabin. It's wonderful that this family are stewards of both the land and also the history of the property as they took the time to rehab the old cabin on the property. Highly recommend.

Staying here was my first Hipcamp experience, and it certainly won't be my last! I went with a group of 6 with varying levels of comfort with the outdoors/camping, and all were happy! This site checked our main requirement, access to warm shower/flushable toilet, and had bonuses of a pavilion, nearby river, electricity in the bathroom, and a camp store. It was comforting to know that if we forgot anything or just didn't feel like cooking at the site, we could pop by the camp store.
Andrey was kind. He popped by to greet us and give us tips on the area. He even let us put the kayak in off an unused site. There was a short stretch of calm water downstream from the campsite that made for a relaxing paddle/float after a long weekend of camping.
Favs:
- The sound of the next door rapids at the South campsite was a constant, peaceful white noise that everyone agreed helped them get great sleep and made everything extra relaxing. It was so nice we didn't even want music.
- the bathhouse - as clean as a campsite bathhouse could be! Showers were hot - super welcome after 30-40 degree nights.
Notes:
- Service was definitely spotty for all, which we had been warned about, so we made do with getting wifi occasionally from the camp store and having some group walkie-talkies. Not a big deal!
- There is a rooster on the property that loves to be heard lol. Consider bringing earplugs for sensitive sleepers.
