Red Maple Campsite: A large luxury private site that includes potable water and electricity on site, designed for a maximum 10 guests with on-site parking space that is 90ft long and 20ft wide, for an RV or 6-8 cars and overflow parking for several more cars. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. We are very close to the Aughwick creek where there is kayaking and fishing. There are many trails in Huntingdon County. We are about 45 mins away from Lake Raystown dam where there is boating and camping and trails. The 1000 steps is a popular hiking trail. We have a recently remodeled farmhouse for short term rentals. There is a spot for a motor home that would have electric and water hookups.

By far THE most enchanting spot I’ve found on HipCamp! Deer, wild turkeys, and the only sounds I heard were birds singing and owls conversing. Bass pond is huge and has plenty of fish. The cabin was impeccably kept with a unique, artful and welcoming decor. .Definitely going back! BOOK IT!!!!!!

Being in a clear house in the woods gives you the feeling of being fully immersed in nature. Having the outhouse, shower, & sink allows you to also feel clean & comfortable. There is electricity & wifi, which is a plus because otherwise we did not get any service. Hosts live on the property & were responsive. We enjoyed the river. Very peaceful.

It's an adorable cabin in a very peaceful setting, but not too far from Grand Cacapon or Berkeley Springs. The cabin is clean and well-appointed, although a tad tight with 3 teenagers. Do make sure to pay attention to the instructions and bring trash bags. Its a great "base camp" to go out and explore the local area.

Our time at The Invisible House was exactly what we were hoping for - it was not only peaceful, but we had everything we needed for a restful 3 nights and 4 days. Even though we had planned to spend an evening in Berkeley Springs, we opted to sit by the campfire each night and just be swallowed up in nature! Lorena was a gracious hostess, making sure we were comfortable and sharing their beautiful property with us. What an experience! We would love to visit again!

We really enjoyed our evening in this beautifully decorated cabin on a hill. Gorgeous views and plenty of privacy. Only about 10 minutes to Berkeley springs, but plenty remote to still feel like a proper Hipcamp experience. We stayed on a hot day–the lack of AC was no problem because it gets plenty cool in the evenings. There’s also a fan, windows, and a garage door if you need extra circulation. While we didn’t get to meet Ken in person, he was super kind and helped us get acclimated over the phone. We’d love to come again!

Really appreciated this simple almost primitive cabin in a time of much needed meditation. Stars, walks, fishing, and nights around a fire. Go around to the back patio and youll find a hammock and fire table. Alot of history and things to check out. Wildlife and much more. If you love being in the wilds and would appreciate electric too. Tamara‘s land was a unique experience full of beauty! It was like staying at a museum., Tamara was a wonderful host, full of knowledge of the area. The location was perfect for resupplying hikers on the Appalachian Trail which it was our main reason for visiting. But we also loved relaxing under the shade of the trees, listening to the birds and surrounded by beautiful fields! It was a wonderful relaxing vacation!

This is the best Hipcamp I’ve been to, the ambiance and decor in the cabin was perfect it is secluded no one will bother you here. Down the road is the lake, caught 4 bass in 15 minutes and chilled in the paddle boat. It’s West Virginia at its finest and the owner is so nice and accommodating! I’ll definitely be back and will keep in touch.

Pablo & Lorena were amazing! They are so kind, caring, accommodating and helpful. The site was perfect! I took my 93 year old mother and she had the time of her life. She slept better than she has in a long time. The invisible house was so tranquil and the beds were so comfy. Lorena & Pablo’s took the tubes and kayak to the river for us and offered to pick us up down the river. This was a trip she will never forget!
