Freedom Run Ranch Equestrian Camp

We LOVED this spot, very much hope to be back! Lisa was a wonderful, warm and genuinely caring host. The environment was beautiful, had all the glamping style comforts-she thought of everything. The doggy was able to explore and be free. Lisa recommended some things to do, and we had a lovely conversation about similar experiences and people we know. Perfect host and perfect spot for a perfect weekend.

Gratitude and freedom at FreedomRun

We were looking for a dog friendly teenager friendly place we could chill between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg and this was it! I’m blown away by the freedom and hospitality we found. We didn’t bring a horse but if we had one, I could imagine what a sweet stay this would be. Thanks for letting us roll in late and keeping a light on. Dog and kid heaven

I give this place a 5 Star. The owner was very nice and helpful and they check up on me make sure i had everything i needed for night and show me around the place.. the portal John was clean well maintained and grass was cut and i enjoy seeing horses on their land and the pavilion was wondering had a swing on on it along with refrigerator stock with soda n beer .. i definitely will be back for sure.

My partner and I had initially planned on camping somewhere else, but it didn't work out. Scrambling to find somewhere on Memorial Day Weekend with just a few hours’ notice, we stumbled upon Lisa’s campground. She approved the request quickly and was a fantastic hostess. On our first night, she invited us to join their MDW party, where we hung out with her family and friends who were incredibly amusing, charming, and welcoming. We got to admire her horses, donkey, and sheep throughout our stay. Lisa let us help ourselves to the drinks in the fridge under the pavilion, made sure we had plenty of firewood, and checked in periodically to make sure we were comfortable. There were two other couples on our first night so we didn’t have a ton of privacy, but that’s also because we set up our tent in between them since the ground was drier in that area. We could have set up farther away for more privacy but the ground was wet there. Still, being somewhat close to them did cause any issues. They ended up leaving the next day and it was lovely to have the place to ourselves. I will note that the toilets are portapotties though that wasn’t an issue for us, we were just happy to have any form of toilet! They were some of the cleanest portapotties I’ve ever seen, and Lisa’s stocked them with hand sanitizer and other hygiene items. The shower room was a lovely touch too. This was an incredible value, especially for the price. Don’t sleep on Freedom Run Ranch!

Everyone was very nice and welcoming, we came on a weekend where they were having a potluck, there was nice people, fireworks, food, a big campfire for everyone to gather around. It was a lot of fun and we're excited to come back again!

Great location and cute set up. Access to a fridge is helpful and the shower was great! Would recommend staying with moderate temps. Cabin gets pretty warm if hot out.

Upon arrival we were met by Lisa, who was so welcoming and friendly. The sites are spacious and all grass with electric. Water is available for filling bottles. A pavilion with kitchen area propane grills and refrigerator was also offered for the use of guests. Close to the Flight 93 National Memorial and the Tower of Voices too. We highly recommend this location. Stop and see for yourself.

Well worth a visit!

A huge thank you to the hosts for providing the perfect stay for us after a long few days of driving. We were greeted right away and given a tour of their property. On site they had a level space for us to park and plug in, a communal pavilion with games, full refrigerator, grills, and picnic tables, a shower, porta potty, and a huge fenced in area for our dog to run around in. Minimal road noise and felt very safe. If we could give this 12/10 stars we would!

Absolutely loved our time spent at Lisa and Jeff's place. Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. Ducks, chickens, horses, sheep, donkeys and mules are all on the property (which would be fun for kids to see). Our hosts were outstanding and there is nothing like being welcomed with a fresh dozen eggs gathered by Lisa that morning. They invited us to their 4th of July gathering and we met many of their friends and neighbors which was a bonus. Our dogs had the run of the place and because it was fenced in, they were allowed off leash. Our lab, Taz, was enamored with the sheep when they came out to graze. We will definitely be returning a couple of times a year.

I requested to stay here last minute as a female solo traveler. Lisa was receptive and accommodating, my stay was peaceful and safe and I felt very welcome. So many nice amenities you don’t often see at other Hipcamps. Would most definitely stay again!!

Lisa’s land was absolutely perfect! We tent camped this time around, but will be back with our camper! Lisa met us at the gate and let us see the animals. They also offered the cabin in the event that it rained. They were so sweet! The grounds had everything we needed, from a bathroom and shower to refrigerator and sink. Overall amazing experience!

Such a cute cozy cabin we stayed in! We definitely will be back! Our horses were so comfortable! We loved utilizing the obstacle course! My daughter and I came for her birthday! Next time my husband and I will bring all the kids!

Awesome place to relax for a night to break up my trip back home. Lisa was so friendly and enthusiastic about her farm and animals, I had fun talking with her and learning about what the tremendous work she has put into creating her property and horse facilities. My site had electric and was a fairly level grass area, everything was beautifully cared for and clean, and it was neat walking around to see the horses and obstacle courses. Thanks, Lisa!

Lisa and Jeff have provided a wonderful place to camp. There’s a shower, nice port-a- jon , electric hookuos and use of the very nice pavilion area: best of all their friendly manner and helpfulness. I’d highly recommend this facility .

Great family farm camping

What a neat place. Jeff and Lisa were great hosts. Nice big grass cut field with great electric hook ups. There is no water but Jeff helped me get my water jugs filled at there cool farm house across the road from the camping land. They had a huge fire pit and invited us to join in their pot luck meal. We had already eaten but what a great offer. There was pyrotechnic club meeting across the street where all the guys meet to have a great fire works get together. They put on a fantastic show. If you’re ever in Eddy PA and want a very cool place to stay give Jeff and Lisa a try.

This was our first stay at a Hipcamp facility. What a tremendous first experience. Jeff met us as Lisa is recuperating from surgery. He could not have made our visit any better than it was after pointing out some of the amenities we were Not expecting like a picnic pavilion with gas grill, huge fire pit, showers, and the cleanest porta potty we've ever seen! Their kindness came through when I woke up very very ill on our departure day . They allowed us to stay another night and offered to unhook our truck so I could go to urgent care . We will always consider Freedom Ranch when traveling this way again !👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful property & welcoming host

What a great experience! We needed a place to stay on our road trip very last minute (as in 30 minutes after I sent a request). Lisa responded with a friendly message within the hour and accepted our request. Directions were clear and Lisa was so kind she offered to come over and make us a bonfire (we were tired & declined). The property is a horse ranch with Lisa's home & a giant beautiful barn and horses on one side of a country road and the Hipcamp site directly across the street in a large fenced in area with small outbuildings, an outdoor pavilion with kitchen and a small shower building (we didn't use it but Lisa offered). The property is grassy, level & so pretty. There are multiple electric plug ins and we were the only ones there. The countryside surrounding their property is all rolling hills & farms so the drive in was very scenic. Highly recommend!

Farm fun and stargazing

Very clean site, host very friendly! Had fun stargazing around the community campfire, dark skies made it nice. They provided chairs, board games, and a fridge in pavilion adjacent to cabin. Even gave a tour of their stables and barnyard, fed the sheep, entertaining farm fun.
