The campsite is nestled on a wooded knoll alongside Pohopoco Creek.
Featuring a 10' x 12' canvas tent erected on a wooden platform, furnished with a queen-size futon mattress atop a bed frame, we provide essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Guests can expect a battery-operated sprayer for rinsing off, battery-operated lanterns, tiki torches, a small charcoal grill, charcoal, lighter fluid, fire starter, and the first night's firewood. Additionally, a 5-gallon container of fresh drinking water and bedding are supplied. For extra campers, a secondary tent is available; however, extra bedding for this tent is not provided.
The primary tent comfortably sleeps 4 individuals, with the secondary tent serving as additional sleeping quarters.
For privacy and convenience, a separate tent houses rustic toilet facilities. This year we are upgrading our primitive toilet to a composting toilet in a wooden outhouse.
Although the listing specifies a maximum of 6 campers, we can accommodate a greater number with advance notice.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own food, beverages, and a deep appreciation for the tranquil symphony of water, wind, and birdsong. This is truly a serene retreat.
We provide firewood for the first night and have more onsite for purchase at $5 per bundle using a QR code and self-service wood station.

Camp Blackbird is a 28 acre property that runs along Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, PA. So besides the camp, there is an additional 3,002-acres of state park to explore. There are a total of 2 sites.
The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people.
So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites.
A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world.
We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here.
We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake.
There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite.
Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling. The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp.
In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.
The property is not suitable for parties or events.
The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding.
The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.
VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.

Our property consists of 20 acres of the beautiful Blue Mountain. At the Lookout you can see for 40 Miles across the valley below. With views from Allentown, Lyons and Reading. At the bottom of the mountain there is a Gunclub with a shooting range and you will hear shooting from the property. Please note it is far away and there is no danger
Our property is mostly the mountain side. But with an area that is flat for tent camping. The property is close to Route 309 but there is a camping area away from the road. Our land is next to the road and you will hear some road noise.
We are next to National Parks land which also consists of the Appalachian Trail and also against the Pennsylvania Game Lands. You can walk up the street or trail to Thunderhead Lodge Restaurant. Leaser lake is a short drive if you like fishing or kayaking. The Wanamakers Store is a unique place to visit with amazing sandwiches. The Wanamakers and Kemton railroad is close by for a weekend train ride. Bear Rock Junction is close by for mini golf and ice cream. Eight Oaks Distillery is only a few minutes away. Several wineries and antique shops as well.
You may also see Appalachian Trail Thru Hikers come thru our property to stay at the hostel. Please welcome our hikers as they come to rest their weary bodies. Welcome to the Lookout. We have made many improvements to our land but also try to maintain the beauty it is. We plan to keep upgrading our property.
We plan to use the land for Recreational activites. We have a Hiker Hostel in the Building. The Building was previously the Blue Mountain Lookout Restaurant but has been neglected for approximately 20 years. We are trying to restore the property to bring it back to life.

We loved Sandy and John's place. The well curated cabin was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed exploring their landscaped oasis... kayaking on the creek, checking in with the goats, nature walks with magical finding along the way.... And the visits from Chicory Willow.

We loved camping at 100 mile view campground with our travel trailer and dog Bailey. It was very dog friendly, spacious, clean sites with amazing view and a awesome host! We enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting and even picked up a bottle of freshly squeezed peach wine. Delicious!
Definitely would recommend anyone visiting Jim Thorpe 10 minutes away from town. Great for bikers!

Hundred Mile View is really special! The campsites are open-air (this is not forest camping), which means starry skies at night. The sites are not too close together, and the portapotty actually has a flushing toilet and sink with soap, t.p. and paper towels. All the sites have the same beautiful view over the valley, good picnic tables and stone firepits. If you head to the village (Jim Thorpe town), there is plenty to do! We will be back!

Our time at 100 Mile View was the greatest way to kick off our camping season. It’s obviously in the name, but the pictures and reviews don’t do it justice. There was a constant breeze and tons to take in from up there. Port-o-potties are at most corners and well maintained. Make sure you arrange for firewood before you come out, we were later than expected so didn’t have any for the first night but Jake was very helpful getting us two bags for the rest of our time. Just one disclaimer: these sites are not super private. Not that it is a problem but we have little kids so we worried about disturbing neighbors. If that’s something you’re comfortable with you have to check this place out!

We loved camping at Rob and Michelle’s site for the night. We had our camper van and pup in tow. The campsite was super clean, quiet and surrounded by trees. I set my hammock up and we made dinner on the fire. The outhouse was really nice, clean and lit by solar lights at night. We hope to come again!

I booked this for myself for a much needed recharge. I was ready to leave when my 15 y/o old told me she wanted to stay 1 night. They kindly accommodated the last minute change and made up the 2nd bed before we arrived. We pulled up and John and Sandy promptly came to welcome us to their place. They showed us around the cabin and let us know how to use everything. They made me feel so welcome and they seemed so happy to let us into their world there. It was the nicest check-in experience i've had anywhere. I loved the Haiku photo album and the journal for guests to write in. The very first entry was 4/29/13 (my daughter's 2nd bday) and the last one was 3/29/26 (my son's 12th bday)! I wish i had written in it bc i have a lot to say. Next time! When we met the goats was when my daughter decided she couldn't leave and ended up staying till Tues- i drove her to school till then. Holly and Hazel are cuties. Hazel liked the spotlight and when you scratched her in the right spot, her tail would wag away! The labyrinth is gorgeous- a beautiful work of art on it's own with a purpose I never knew! I enjoyed learning about them from the provided reading material. I did chat with Sandy and I decided that she is the coolest person in the world. She has great love for and intuitive wisdom of the earth, and she radiates love and acceptance. Hopefully I didn't scare her when I told her I want to become best friends.😆
