There is a small garbage can in each restroom or even better grab a shovel, dig a small hole, add nutrients to the soil, cover with dirt & Mother Nature will take it from there .The trees would love to see that.

Located on Mount Hood about an hour from Portland, Zigzag Mountain Farm is home to an organic garden, old homestead, house, yurts, and barn. 50 acres of open meadows and forest, bordering thousands of acres of national forest. The farm is home to an organic garden, campfire circle, picnic area, a city bus with a campers' kitchen, outdoor seating area with BBQ, kids play structure and hiking trails. The cabin on the property was built by the original homesteaders. Britta and Jim purchased the property in 2009. It had been vacant for a number of years. Giant slash piles scattered the land from previous logging.
The house and cabin were not livable and needed major renovations. In 2019 we purchased and brought in a city bus and converted it to a campers kitchen. A year-round creek flows through the property and 3 major rivers are nearby. The Zigzag Mountain Lookout Trail leaves from the property. The property was homesteaded in the late 1800's. E. Mountain Drive was the wagon train trail into Portland, known as the Barlow Trail. Zigzag Mountain farm offers the perfect escape from the city.

In 2019 we sold the cafe and cabins to a new family to carry on, but we kept the parcel of land overlooking the Deschutes River where we have operated a campground for many years.Oasis Riverview Campground has operated during the months of July and August, primarily, giving RV's and tent campers a place to land during the busy months here in Maupin when the fishing and whitewater rafting are at their peak and the campsites along the river (managed by the BLM) were not adequate to host all visitors to the area.We are transitioning from a tent camping site to a site only for self-contained RV's or groups willing to have their own toilets brought in.

Very private wooded area in Brightwood with Sandy River frontage! Enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river rapids! No houses, RV's, or other humans are within view! Whether you are camping alone or with a group of 20, you get the whole camp to yourself. No strangers camping nearby or walking by you to get to their sites. Complete privacy!
With a picnic table, firepit, and a very clean "deluxe" portable bathroom (clean water sink) on site, your basic camping needs are met. Trash and recycling bins are also present so there is no need to haul away your own trash.
Need firewood, fishing gear, or groceries? The Brightwood Store is a short walk away along the riverfront. Skiing/snowboarding, hiking/biking trails, and everything else Mt Hood has to offer are all within a 20 minute drive.
*More than 4 cars can be park on site, but it will take some planning and maneuvering. Especially if certain cars need to frequently leave the property and re-enter throughout your stay. Please message me if you have any questions or concerns.
*Longer RVs and vehicles can be accommodated, but will require backing up out of the entrance.
*Property/site is accessible to wheelchair users, however there is no pavement.
*The ground is bumpy in areas despite being relatively flat grade. The road takes you right next to the picnic tables, so the pics should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Marmot House is a lush 13 acres of mostly old growth forest in the foothills of Mt. Hood, right on the Historic Oregon Trail. It is close to hiking, biking, and forested waterfalls a short drive away. We have beautiful short hikes on trails in our forest on the property.
World class windsurfing 30 miles away in Hood River, as well as more amazing waterfall hikes in the Columbia River Gorge. The Sandy River recreation area is just up the road from us and we are 10 mins. from The Sandy Ridge Trail with its 17 miles of mountain bike trails.
Each campsite is tucked in the woods and has access our communal fire pit at our gathering space. Our well water tastes amazing!
The is not a developed campground, it is our home. We see ourselves as stewards of this hidden forest gem and welcome people to enjoy its beauty. We are avid campers and recently spend 9 months in our teardrop trailer off grid on public lands. Living here we are family of four plus one who all work from home, Arehn a spiritual life coach, who loves to cook, Jim a software engineer and disc golfer, sons Ian, software engineer and writer and Sam, Environmental Science major and elite level Ultimate frisbee player. Tom Brown III (T3), Nature Educator and professional Photographer, lives in a separate apartment on the property.

Overview
Just east of the Mt. Hood National Forest and directly west of White River Falls State Park, Pine Hollow is a lovely little town that draws in visitors wanting easy access to the Pine Hollow Reservoir. Plenty of people come to the reservoir to fish for trout, bass, bluegills, and bullheads throughout the year, while the warmer months are popular for camping, boating, and even swimming. You'll find a ton of camping options in the nearby Mt. Hood National Forest, from simple tent-only campgrounds to larger camping areas that welcome RVs (just don't expect full hookups). Campgrounds can get crowded during the summer. If you prefer a little less hullabaloo, or if you can't secure a public campsite, you'll find plenty of private Hipcamps where you can park your RV or pitch a tent, some with views of the perpetually snow-capped peak of Mount Hood.
