This campsite is a pull thru road that has a sun and wind block overlooking local farm fields. Please note that SELF-CONTAINED vehicles are required for this site, as this is a dry camp with no water access or restrooms. Camp is two miles from freeway exit yet a mile from any home other than the working homestead that was started in 1890 with huge barn built in 1906 next door. This is a great place to rest for the night or a week. - simple, safe, and private out of the way. From I-84 you will take exit 198 for Lorenzen/McClintock Rd. Turn onto Lorenzen. Drive one mile until you get to an intersection next to a grain bin. Turn left (west) and drive for almost one mile. As you near the two openings for the site, you will see the sun shelter directly on your left. You want to turn at the 2nd opening, by the sign that says IN. You can pull up right next to the shelter and set up your space however you like. That way, when you leave you will exit by the sign that says OUT and be headed back towards the interstate like you came.
This site is 12 miles west from the world-famous Pendleton Round-Up. 8 miles east of Echo Ridge Winery, Sno Road Winery, Echo historical museum, and Echo Golf Course. Simple dining can be found in Echo at H and P cafe and in nearby Stanfield at Broken Barrel Restaurant/Bar with great burgers.

We have a small area in our Alpaca pasture designated for campers. We are a short drive (2miles) to down town Hermiston. Our ranch has been here since the 1940's and has decreased in size since its days as a potato farm. The Alpacas are shy but curious. They are not dangerous but do not like dogs 🐕🦺 and other small animals. (Please keep pets on a leash) We remove the Alpacas and mow the camping areas but please keep in mind that this is a pasture that is used when campers are not present. Please be prepared. Last Chance Getaway is a small eleven acre farm exceptionally situated in the gorgeous Walla Walla Valley. There are level access and pull through camp sites along the Burlingame Canal and the South fork of the Little Walla Walla river (a creek). Mountain Site and Garden site are both situated along the Burlingame Canal, a historic waterway and engineering marvel worth googling. Both have an unobstructed east facing view of farmland and the Blue Mountains - perfect for full moons and sunrises. These two sites are generally in the shade around dinner time. We had a great time at Philip's! He and Oso greeted us on arrival and Philip gave some tips as to how to get the best view from his location as well as wineries he prefers, etc. It was nice to be a little further out of town, yet close to town and other activities. We were able to walk to the Whitman Mission. I would definitely stay here again!

Directions are a bit confusing though- it would have been helpful to know that we turn left right before the first Deer Creek sign (there isn’t really a road - just drive diagonally across the beautiful front lawn towards the next Deer Creek sign. Then, down the hill towards the creek and final sign. We parked perpendicular to the creek.

We found this site easily, directions were clear. Michael came out to meet us and made sure we knew he was available if we needed anything. Other than that, he left us alone and gave us privacy, which was greatly appreciated. Beautiful landscaped property with a nice green lawn for the dog.

Weekend Trip to Taylor’s

Michael’s camping site again provided me the opportunity to visit McNary Wildlife Refuge as well as several other beautiful parks in the area. Michael was welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. The site was clean and easy to park in. Several quail sat on the fence and welcomed me as I ate dinner in the van.

My pups and I had the absolute best stay at this peaceful farm retreat. The views were spectacular, the grounds were spotless and beautifully kept, and the host was incredibly gracious and welcoming. It was perfect for our RV van and so dog friendly too! We especially loved the quiet dirt road walks along the creek under the big shade trees, winding through the wheat and onion fields. Being within walking distance to a lovely winery made it even better. Such a relaxing, beautiful place to unwind — we can’t wait to come back!

Great place with lots of shade and an amazing little creek flowing right out your door that sounds just like a waterfall, so relaxing! Dogs loved it too they had plenty of space to watch the chickens, ducks and run around! Oh and listening to the frogs at night! I will definitely stay again! It was perfect for why we were in that area!

Camping on Kara's land was a very pleasant surprise. We were in the Tri-cities to see our granddaughter play soccer and needed a place not too far from the sports complex to park our teardrop trailer. Brown Barrel turned out to be perfect for us. It is in a suburban area, but the spot, which is right next to a creek, is private and quiet. We slept well to the sound of the flowing water; we brought our own water and camp toilet since there is no restroom nor is there potable water available at the site. There is power, so we were able to plug in the trailer; a real advantage. Nearby are many dining options. We drove a few miles to Badger mountain for a late afternoon hike which was wonderful.
We will return the next time we come to the Tri-cities.

This was a perfect spot to stop and stay the night on my travels! The location is merely 10ish min off the main highway, which made it so convenient so stop and sleep for the night in a safe, private area that felt comfortable for my dog and I. Will def be my new go-to halfway stop. Thanks Kara!!!

Very nice setup with electric and water. easy site to get in and out of. Michael is super nice, helpful and then he leaves you be. if you. eed anything just ask otherwise he won't bother you. campsite is conveniently located near the Columbia River, Hood Park, Sacajawea State
Park, and Walla.Walla vineyards. Very pleasant stay!
