The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. The shower water is filtered water from a shallow well, but bring water to drink. This campsite lies about 1 mile from the pacific ocean at about 15 feet elevation so it will be cooler than inland camp sites. I believe we are the closest camping to the south side of the Blacklock Hiking Trails. Also next to the Cape Blanco State Airport. (call if you want to fly in and get transport to and from the campsite). Access Road is a single lane in and out (gravel, dirt, and grass). Any towed trailers need to be pulled by a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle to climb back out (in and out procedures for trailers will be provided) Bring a fishing pole or a kayak. Sea-run trout are in the river during the summer (no motorized vehicles allowed in the Sixes River by law. No motorized vehicles in campsite besides automobiles by rule.) - Please be accurate with the number of guests in your party. Please note about lack of signage: The "walters landing" and "92220" on airport road are the only markings to indicate our entrance. We have a free-range farm atmosphere, with 2 kids, 2 large dogs, 2 cats, and 12 chickens. We allow Hip Campers to bring animals on the property with the understanding that they are not allowed in the tiny house and that they are good around children and other animals, as our kids and pets are often running around the land. No smoking in the Tiny House. This rustic property is close enough to Hwy 101 and downtown to be convenient, but far enough away to enjoy all the wildlife the Siuslaw River has to offer. Bird watching at its finest! Not to mention the view of Old Town! This little slice of rugged heaven is just above the Siuslaw River and right off of Hwy 101. There is a steep gravel driveway, but once at the top, it is flat, and the view is pretty amazing. From camp, you can see Old Town. Gaze down at the Siuslaw River and all the wildlife that comes with it! We regularly see deer, red-tailed hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles. We have also had a bear that passes through, so beware of leaving food out. There are plenty of places to hike and visit nearby dunes, rivers, lakes, parks, and the ocean. It is quite an "up and down" walk to Old Town for dinner, or you can bring back take-out and eat it in the tiny house (no electricity or running water). Welcome to the river! This beautiful 10 acre property is located on the scenic main Umpqua River. Enjoy excellent, year-round fishing, kayaking, and swimming right from your private and secluded campsite. Our property is located between 2 boat ramps which makes kayak, canoe, or raft floats a breeze. The property features beautiful, mature trees, fun bedrock to explore, and an amazing swimming hole (in the summertime when the river level is low enough). Sit at the river’s edge and enjoy the sounds of the water. Be sure to watch for soaring Eagles, jumping fish, and the occasional mink on the opposite river's edge! There are multiple wineries nearby and lots of hiking trails within a short drive. There is no cell service at the property - please plan ahead and check local burn ban policies before you go. The "owners area" camping spot is a large, graveled, gated area that has trees between the road and parking. There is a port-a-potty for use in the summer months (Mid April through Labor Day Weekend - please message us for exact dates if you need it and are booking outside this window). There is also a fire pit on the lower level overlooking the river, a hidden tree swing, and deck with picnic table. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fully manicured campground. There are bushes and grasses that grow year round. We do our best to keep things trimmed and accessible. Sometimes (especially in the spring) things grow more quickly than we can get to them. Please don't expect this to be a perfectly mowed, backyard-type site.

This magical property is conveniently located 5 miles north of Florence and directly on Hwy 101, approximately 3/4 of a mile from the ocean. This is a large private site that is surrounded by old growth timber and teaming with flora and fauna. Campers are encouraged to explore, but be aware, this property is wild.. and encounters with wildlife are common. Beyond the adventuring that can be done on the property, Baker Beach state park is less than a half a mile away and there is a plethora of trails, parks, and lakes within 10 miles. We do have full time neighbors just to the North, so we ask that you be respectful and cautious with regard to dogs/noise. Hwy 101 can be very dangerous for unsuspecting pets. There are several roadside campfire stations(directly across 101 from camp) offering small bundles for $5-6/night. **Be advised that we are slowly working on the property to eventually create more camping space. There was a lot of dirt/fill brought in over the winter of 2022 and the property may not be as green as years past.** Please be our guests, relax, and enjoy!

We absolutely love Cathryn's beautiful hipcamp on the Umpqua River in Roseburg. We went in late October so the weather was chilly and it rained a lot but we made the best of it. We had the entire campground to ourselves and just a few steps away from the most breathtaking river scene. My son enjoyed fishing and saw many huge salmon but unfortunately he didn't catch one next time perhaps. We have a 31ft RV and our friends had a smaller RV there are no hookups but that's how we love and enjoy camping. It is very peaceful with wild turkeys that ventured into our camps. There are no strict rules on dogs off leash which are pups love to explore and run around and frolic in the water it was amazing. Cathryn came by once to introduce herself and to answer any questions that we may have had. She also mentioned that they are going to do some improvements to the camp to get down to the water more accessible. Its all a work in process but it's beautiful just the way it is. We can't wait to book for the summer because there are many deep pools there to swim in. The only suggestion that I would have would be to move the front gate further down so that when you pull out of the gate you're not on the main road where it could potentially be dangerous. To be honest I really don't want to say too many great things about this place lol because we would love it to remain a secret 😜 It is definitely in the books for springtime. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us.

So peaceful and beautiful! The porta-potty was extra clean. We were only able to stay one night but hopefully we can come back for a longer visit soon. We were escorted out by about 2 dozen cows which was the perfect end to a lovely night and morning.

Tim's place was absolutely amazing, the endless possibilities and beautiful sounds and views 😍 we will be back. The sites where way bigger than we expected, we had plenty of room for all of us. It was so nice. We could hear the Elk and sea lions all night and the morning before we left we seen some whales just a couple of minutes down the road. It was an experience.

2nd stay here ! Easy beautiful close to the ocean and beach shore ! It’s the epitome of “hip camp” ! Thank you again we’ll be back . Great location to access Whiskey Run mountain bike trails . About 20 minutes drive . Charlatan is the closest town - Millers Cove - crab Louie Salad ! Coffee on the corner and Davey homes locker if you forgot anything ! Thanks for sharing your slice of paradise!

The most amazing view to wake up to! Our 1 year old son had a blast roaming around the site and watching fishing boats on the river. Nicole and Brian were so welcoming and helpful! 10/10 recommend to anyone passing through the area!

We booked late, but the directions provided were spot on and we had no trouble finding this lovely spot by the river. Quiet, open meadow with trees and brush with space between sites so it felt private and serene. Very friendly and helpful host. We would definitely stay here again!

The spot was easy to find. The view is really nice. We booked for only one night as we were just looking for a safe night to sleep while fishing the Siuslaw. We sat up our sleeping mats and blankets and slept inside the little tiny building in the property. We brought our own bathroom set up. It worked out really nice for what we needed. We will stay again!

This was easily one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. You can hear the roar of the ocean from the campsites and the calls of seabirds. The water of the river was clear and mild. The host Joe was very kind, welcoming and accommodating. We will absolutely be returning someday!

What a great space! Getting there can be a little tricky since the Maps directions are just a little off and the gate is hard to spot from highway, but if the three of us can pull it off- anyone can! Lots of room for group camping. For its proximity to 101, the site is quiet and feels secluded. Port-a-potty was clean, the fire pit was perfect, and overall we had a great time. Would definitely return.
