Laughing Mountain

Come see us under "Laughing Mountain" on youtube! We have discovered that Laughing Mountain is not just a physical place on a mountain top, it is also a metaphysical entity that has dreamt itself awake. The irony of the fact that the creation of Laughing Mountain, has been nothing but blood, sweat and tears, pays homage to the reality that just like us, this mountain is a work in progress, we are all slowly chipping away at the masterpiece that is our divine self awakened. Laughing Mountain is a living thing in flux as it heals and breaks and mends itself all in the name of healing to help others heal too, it is the columniation of lifetimes of trauma experienced by humanity and their desperate dreams of freedom. Dreams of something better. Dreams of awakening. Laughing Mountain is the dream of the people, it is not Bryan or Terrah’s alone, we are simply here healing with it, and you. We weren’t aware of the sentience and trauma of the land at first, only our own need for healing, and desire to help others heal in the ways we’d found healing, by creating a sacred space in nature for everyone to use. As we began this dance of chaos with the land and all things residing in it and around it, we realized the land was as spiritually sick as we were. A microcosm of planet Earth, it has been raped, pillaged and neglected, it’s future never considered, it’s native stewards murdered, all in the name of greed. After 2 years of profound breakthroughs, mind bending healing ceremonies, confusion, emotional melt downs, everything malfunctioning one after another and questioning our choice to be here, we couldn’t help but feel like we were being sabotaged by something… We were. She was trying to get our attention, as were all of the negative energies trapped here. Suddenly an epiphany struck us both, in the thick muck of a terrible physical and energetic rut, we knew we needed to heal the energy that had been left lingering here from all of the traumatic events that happened all around us for hundreds of years. Just like us, trauma was trapped inside her from other people, just like the ancestral trauma we all suffer from on planet Earth. This is when we realized the land had called us here to help it, and in turn it would help us heal too….and it has. We now know we are exactly where we are supposed to be. When you come to this living mountain, speak kindly to her, she hears you, honor the Takilma ancestors who came before us, the plants and the trees the snakes and the bees, because we are all in this together. There is no you or me, there is only us and we. You and I are one being united in our desire for balance and peace on this planet, let’s walk together and support each other on this journey back into the welcoming arms of our own divinity. A little about our land; we give coordinates for the beginning of our road. We send you coordinates, very detailed directions, troubleshooting tips, and photo maps we made. As long as you successfully used the coordinates easy. There is no service here for the most part, mile marker 4 on the main road gets service if you need it! Please let us know if you’re interested in plant ID walks, Mushroom ID, medicine making, gold prospecting, boat rides or fishing. We prefer you don't pay ahead of time.

*Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

The intention behind naming this the Cloud, is in honor of the lands the atmospheric connection to the Sea. The Cloud, is currently in the process of becoming a retreat space and eco village for guests to come experience. While still curating the space, the land is being brought together with a passion for saving trees and their priceless ecological function. The large Spruce trees that cover the land stand with strong branches and are covered with magnificent green needles. These needles collect water vapor from the air, thus offering water droplets onto the ground. This natural process provides a vibrant and lush natural habitat. The Cloud is an intentional space where those on the land are invited to become mindful and connect not only with the land, but with themselves.

Welcome to ten acres of open pasture and mixed forest tucked into the hills just outside Glide, Oregon. The land feels spacious yet protected — bordered by trees and crossed by a spring-fed creek that runs year-round through the property. The creek is shallow in most places, clear and cool, with smooth stones along the bottom. In one bend it widens into a natural swimming hole that stays refreshing through the heat of summer. You can hear the water moving from much of the property steady and calming. Evenings bring shifting light across the pasture, frogs near the water, and a wide, dark sky once the sun drops behind the trees. On the main side of the property there is a designated RV site with easy access and open sky above. It sits comfortably within the landscape with easy access to the shower on the side of the shop and a place to watch and hear the creek. There is an outdoor shared living room where guests can relax in the shade and hear the creek in the background. The 199 sq. ft. yurt sits in the garden area. It has its own small yard space, a short porch, a queen bed, and a simple table and chair. Relax and revive in this artistic 'cabin' with wonderful views of historic Glenn Creek from every room. An architectural dream, you enter this lodge style home through a pivoting hobbit style front door with hardware from the 1800's. Highlights of this original home include a gourmet kitchen with labradorite granite counters, 800 year old juniper tree spiral stair case, huge beams and exposed rafters, a sauna, and a romantic wood stove. Also each upstairs bedroom has a hanging bed with three 8 foot skylights above for indoor star gazing. Original artworks from local artists are throughout the home. Many pleasantries await the curious such as embedded fossils in the cracked mud walls.Nestled amongst towering fir and cedar trees, with windows everywhere, you'll feel and see nature's presence. This home site has a remarkably peaceful way about it. Recently featured in Southern Oregon Magazine and KCBY 11 TV's ~In Focus~ 'Goin' Green' and Oregon's Solar Home Tour, this is a unique 'green' home. This home was built with environmentally friendly materials. Building with little impact on the surroundings was very important to us during construction. The myrtle hardwood floor in the kitchen and living room was milled on site which came from trees that stood where the house is now. Same story for the beautiful maple flooring in the ½ bath. All of the large beams and fir flooring came from two 4' thick 104 year old douglas fir trees which also stood and were milled where the house is now. The fir trees sprouted after the last forest fire that came through the canyon. One of our neighbors fell a sixty five year old redwood that was over six feet thick! We used some of it as a wonderful wainscot paneling throughout the house. All of the finishes used are no or low VOC. Surrounding the house is native vegetation, huge trees and a few herbs and spices for cooking. You'll enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with labradorite granite counters. The kitchen island has a new five burner gas stove with a convection oven and warming oven. The island has plenty of granite and wood counter space. Hanging from the exhaust hood are stainless, non-stick, and cast iron cookware. We also provide shade grown fair trade coffee and a grinder, espresso machine, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, utensils, chef knives, glasses and frosty cocktail glasses in the freezer. The dining room table has a river view and can seat six comfortably. There is also seating for three at the island bar. From the kitchen you can visit with the folks in the living room thanks to the open floor plan. Beside the wood stove are two chairs and the futon couch with reading lamp. A CD changer, TV with a DVD player and VHS machine are in the downstairs bedroom. Bring your favorite videos or browse our selection of movies. The property has 150 feet of creek frontage with great views of Glenn creek, the forest and distant cliffs. Enjoy wildlife viewing with River Dippers, Chipmunks, Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, Screech Owls, Pileated Wood Peckers, Elk, an occasional Bald Eagle or River Otter and other wildlife from the house and back deck. Build a fire and have lunch on the nearby picnic table and benches.
