This is a great location if you are traveling or road tripping to any destination along the West Coast of North America! Take a day trip to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. We also recommend that you visit the Galesville reservoir about 5 minutes up the road. The yurt has a queen sized loft bed with cotton sheets, a warm cotton comforter with duvet cover, a woodstove, and a folding mattress. You are also welcome to bring your own sleeping gear. *LEAVE NO TRACE, just as you would when camping = please pack out your own trash* There is a wood stove for the winter months, a solar powered refrigerator, a propane stove and oven, along with a sink, and kitchen countertop space. In 1948 a wildfire came thru what then was a mixed forest of spars old growth conifers, evergreen and deciduous broadleaf trees burning intensely enough to render the entire area to primarily grassland. Today it is quickly returning to primarily mixed forest, recovering the ability to hold water at cooler temperatures as it once did. Nestled on the south slope of Dickinson Mountain it offers plenty of sunshine yet some of the best cool freshwater to be found anywhere. Although much of this paradise is considerably steep there are ample cow and goat trails to make exploring extremely enjoyable. Bachelor Creek which runs thru approximately 1/2 mile of the Southeast portion is home to beaver, cutthroat, western pond turtles, great blue heron, and many other wildlife. There is a pair of resident Redtail hawks, wild turkeys, deer, bobcat, coyote, cougar, mink, flying, silver grey, and pine squirrels, owls (sawhete, screach, Pigmy, barred, and great horned), and many others. There are also many swimming holes on Bachelor Creek and a tributary we call Dancing creek, although they are all somewhat small the water is nice and refreshing for a quick dip on a warm day. This is a working farm raising cattle, and chickens. On that note please don't feed any of the animals as they could become a real nuisance. If you are going to be leaving your camp for a hike or swim etc. please secure any food items to avoid a potential disaster. The farm is 170 acres (a half mile by a half mile) and there is a fence all the way around it. Feel free to hike wherever, as long as you don't cross any fences you are still here. You can take a dip in the creek where it comes out of the culvert below the road and there is a picnic table at each site as well as at the dipping hole.

We welcome you to visit us at our organic farm and solar-powered tasting room! We'd love to host you for a flight of your choice of white, rosé, or red wines. We're also happy to give you a farm tour where you’ll see eight acres of vineyards, a small flock of Southdown Babydoll sheep, and a small herd of South African Boer goats. Our farm is located in the beautiful and peaceful pastoral setting of the Applegate Valley AVA in Grants Pass, Oregon — just 3 miles from six other tasting rooms and within walking distance of the Enchanted Forest/Felton Memorial Trails.

Weekend Trip to Wild Hare Farms

Brad and Jen met us as we arrived and guided us to our spot, which is the middle of a grassy area just behind their home. Sitting between their lovely animals, we spent two nights recovering from a 5 week cross country and through Oregon (twice) and Washington state. It was quiet enough and they have a great picnic area to use. We are a 33’ fifth wheel and we brought some limbs down as we came into the property. If you are at or larger than 13’3” height, I would speak to either Brad or Jen first to ensure those have been cut back so you can get in and out with damaging your roof or destroying their lovely trees and shrubs. Thanks, guys! We had a great stay with you.

Weekend Trip to Hideaway At The Vineyard

A very nice campout in the middle of a winery vineyard. Our host Kristie was very nice and helpful and gave us lots of information on the history of the winery. The site where we parked our 25 foot RV trailer. A nice covered picnic table area. Full hookups were at our disposal. Very quiet and peaceful area. We were parked next to the duck pond and heard them doing their thing and they sometimes came on land to pay a visit. Visited the wine tasting room and purchased a couple bottles. The vineyard was at our complete usage. We walked around quite a bit of it, talked to some grape pickers and saw the area where they make the wine. A nice tour of the area. Many thanks for everything. Highly recommended Hipcamp.

2 nights at Dancing Creek Farm

Ron was wonderful host! We loved camping at dancing creek and would consider staying again. We stayed here on our way from Portland to Crater lake. We requested camp 1 but since both sites were avalible for our duration ron recommended we check out site 2 and see if we would like it, which we did. The property is massive, we saw(and dipped in) the creek, ron's garden, and a meadow up the hill. The view from the medow was spectacular. One of the best parts was just chatting with ron he made us feel welcome and was just a really cool guy. Also we got to see the cows just before we left.

Tent camping here was surreal. My fiancé, mother and I stayed here just for the night while on our way to California from Washington and it was lovely. Rebecca was very kind and gave perfect directions for anyone who would struggle getting to the property. They even had lights hung up in the camp sites which gave the whole place an amazing vibe.

The only thing that could have made it better for us was the option to add power, but we did well with dry boondocking.

This is a beautiful camp. There’s a water hole for summer dips. Handcrafted fire rings. Cute cows and calves sometimes. Beautiful walkways for hikes in the woods. Blackberries in the summertime. The Host Ron is kind and personable, very hospitable. I was privileged enough to get a tour of his glorious garden, greenhouse and orchards. But didn’t take pictures of that as I wasn’t sure if the gated private area was for public viewing. Every time we visit it’s an adventure on this amazing Hipcamp property. Thank you Ron!
