We bought this 125+ year old farm in 2010 with the hope of bringing it back to life. Overgrown and neglected, we have worked hard to make it a nice place for hiking, kayaking, fishing or any number of other activities. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Lexi and Little Bits can be visited while they graze in the pasture. There are chickens and Brindle the barn kitty. We have the perfect place for dogs as well. We have four dogs that get along great with others and our fenced pond keeps them safe.

Croaky Oak Clearing of Good Knights Reserve is located in Ohio and a 25-30 minute drive to Dublin. You'll have nothing but peace and privacy on the back 15 acres of the property. This is a hike in primitive camp site (about 1/4 mile walk depending where you park) . We have a wagon and wheelbarrows available for use for hauling stuff back to the site. Front desk was friendly and helpful. They had a shop at the front with snacks and merch. Bathrooms were clean, and showers had great water pressure and temp. The showers are a bit low, so if you're 6 ft you may have to crouch a bit. The place was quiet, with respectful neighbors. I had water and electric hookups, and it looked like there was a place for grey water disposal, but didn't use it this time. Also, it seemed like the pool was getting remodeled and could be cool feature to try in the future.

Weekend Trip to Rusty's Retreat with pond and river
We had such an amazing stay here. The property is absolutely stunning — peaceful, private, and honestly looked like something out of a movie. Being able to camp right by the water while our dog played in the creek all night was perfect. The campsite itself was clean, spacious, and so relaxing.
Jay was also absolutely incredible. He was so helpful, kind, and responsive the entire time, and you can really tell he cares about making sure guests have a great experience. We already can’t wait to come back!!

This was our second time staying at the cabin, and we had a great time again! Our dogs love being able to run and swim, and we caught so many fish! The bed in the loft is comfortable, and the woodstove kept the entire cabin very warm all night!

Loved this spot. Secure, quiet, well kept grounds. Tucked away into my own area right next to a small pond made for a great atmosphere and was close to everything I was there to see. Great hosts, very friendly and helpful. As mentioned in the description, this site is close to the railroad tracks but I personally wasn’t bothered by it.

Weekend Trip to Uncle Chuck's Cabin
This was a great riverside area and the house was perfect for what I was hoping for, which was a nice off-the-grid cabin to camp in with my kids along the water. The cabin is heated with a wood stove that puts out more than enough heat for a cold night. I even made pancakes on a griddle that was heated on top of the wood stove, which the kids thought was fun. There is a generator and lights with microwave for when you want to go back on the grid. And restrooms are an outhouse without running water. It a small cabin and is rustic, but it is also well put together and in good shape. Chuck was a very gracious host.

Another relaxing visit! Chuck and Anya do a super job as hosts! The cabin and outhouse were very clean! The front porch view of the river was amazing! We enjoyed coffee time in the morning watching the beautiful sunrise and all of the wildlife waking up! The fishing was also fun! Definitely a peaceful and relaxing vibe!

Cool place! I enjoyed the animals and farm nearby but the bottomland woods is even better. There is a stream that passes by the campsite and a small river farther back. A lot of birds and small mammals. Ideal for camper-van or truck.
