Camping with wildlife

Bryan was friendly and communicated well. The porta potty was the cleanest and best smelling I have ever used...and that's saying a lot. The sites were well kept and had beautiful river views with many birds, rabbits and other nature. Swallowtails swooping and an eagle resting in the branches of a tree. Bryan kept me updated on the inclement weather that was incoming, which I really appreciated.

A Trip To Remember

This was my second time visiting this campsite, and somehow it was even better than the first! This trip I got to explore so much more of the area, and it truly reminded me why I love coming here. The weather was absolutely perfect the entire stay, making it ideal for relaxing, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. One of the highlights was catching some nice catfish and spending peaceful evenings sitting under a sky full of stars. The campsite is well-maintained, beautiful, and offers the perfect place for privacy. Whether you’re fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, axe throwing, gem mining , exploring, or just enjoying the scenery, there’s always something to appreciate here. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon and can’t wait for my next trip! Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable outdoor getaway. 🌟🏕️🎣✨

Camp host Bryan and his wife were great! Camp spot 3 was secluded but right by the water for easy access to put out paddle boards in and out easily. The hosts have many animals and plants to look at.

Awesome place to stay with the family. So many things to do like : gem mining petting and feeding the goats seeing the turtles and lizards kayaking and canoeing as well as axe throwing. Bryan and his wife Amanda are the greatest hosts of all time. They live to make sure you have an amazing time while you are there highly recommended.

Enjoyed the stay may flies and mosquitoes were not bad. Use to train next door at home anyway so train noises was no problem. Great wildlife to watch at camp and out kayaking. Not a bad place to veiw the night sky and go magnet fishing. Well probably be back since we didn't have enough time to throw axes or go fishing.

Beautiful scenery! Bryan was very helpful and kind when we checked in. Grass was super green and soft. The sites are close to train tracks, but I wasn’t bothered. Light sleepers bring earplugs. This spot was a great first stop on our roadtrip!

Bryan and his family were wonderful hosts and his property was a beautiful place to spend a couple of days. I felt safe as a solo camper and it was a perfect spot to observe the big bird migration this week. Thanks for a great stay!

Owners are super friendly and helpful. Tent spot #4 is nice and secluded. Yes the trains are loud, but I was there for birding at Magee Marsh so I didn’t mind the early morning wake up call :)

Loved this spot. Secure, quiet, well kept grounds. Tucked away into my own area right next to a small pond made for a great atmosphere and was close to everything I was there to see. Great hosts, very friendly and helpful. As mentioned in the description, this site is close to the railroad tracks but I personally wasn’t bothered by it.

We went early in the season so they let us stay on site 1. It was right on the portage river. Caught a lot of fish. There were a lot of trains throughout the day, but way less at night. Great site!

Trains , but they dont bother me . There does seem to be more trains during the week than on our weekend stay . I was raised in the inner city so again they dont bother me. Great views , good people run it and I love the sound of the water. Nomadic Camping with Endless Weekends

A sweet little spot by the river. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed saying hi to the turtles and goats and cats near the office and kayak rental area when we checked in. The train is definitely right there and runs all night with horns, so be mindful of whether you’re someone who will be bothered or unable to sleep because of that. We stayed at site 1, which is right on the river’s edge and nice to wake up to herons and misty sunrises. Site 1 and 2 share an area without a barrier between them (though ample space for both). Site 3 is next to these sites, not immediately next to the water, but slightly more private. Site 4 is farther away from all three of the others and more secluded (and I think also right on its own little inlet of water, but I didn’t walk into the site to say for sure). We stayed here as a jumping off place for visiting Cedar Point, and would do so again.
