My wife and I moved to the area, from Boone, in the spring of 2014. Our dream was to own a house, preferably a cabin, on top of a mountain with long range views and a gradual winding road to the top. Living in Boone, this dream was definitely out of reach. When we began our search for a new home in the Asheville area, we discovered that the more affordable homes were in fact on the mountains. Perfect! In general I always have a pretty positive outlook on what’s possible, however, I was skeptical that we would ever find our dream home. As Jeannie began her Zillow browsing adventures, one particular cabin with acreage, that was outside of our budget continued to pop up. Jeannie would delete it and then it would come back. At some point the price began to drop, and drop, and drop. On our way back into town one weekend after attending a wedding, I convinced Jeannie to drive by the cabin just because we had the time. Immediately we fell in love and reached out to our realtor buddy. It was more of a shot in the dark but it couldn’t hurt, right? We held our breath for the next month totally expecting someone to get it under contract before us or the sellers not accepting our offer. It had already been reduced significantly so we knew our chances of a lowball offer were slim. We offered the most that we could get a loan for. They accepted! I still get anxious thinking back to that month, October 2014. Many years and two children later, here we are, just as excited everyday to make the long trek up our mountain as we were that August of 2014, and now we are happy to offer a similar experience to you, without having to buy the place. Neal Creek Primitive camping by the creek is located on private property. The two large campsites are approximately 300 feet apart and are located right beside the running creek. Plenty of shaded area's. We have a 6-8 person tent available to rent as well! Learn more about this land: We are only 1/2 a mile from the Interstate 85. So bring your tents, campers or your small RV and come and setup down by the babbling creek. If you don't have or own a tent, we have a large 6-8 person tent available for a small rental fee too. Build a nice fire in the fire pit. The firewood and kindling is provided. The campsites are semi-wooded areas with plenty of shade. Weekend Trip to Rider's Rest Parking

Stayed here one night to charge up. Very quiet neighborhood with a very nice family who lives in the home. The yard was very clean with a dog run we definitely used and fire pit setup with chairs. Walking distance from Ingles and other shops. There’s a fun Farmers/Artisan market and kids park just a short walk away with an Airstream serving great coffee and other treats. Would definitely visit again! Thank you guys!(:

Beautiful and serene space. Located 5 mins from the highway but tucked away in a perfect spot for optimal privacy, great views & a ton of space. My fiancé proposed to me right at the top of our campsite with the beautiful mountain views and river flowing in the back ground. This beautiful spot will always be a special place for us! Very kind and accommodating hosts as well. Farm animals to walk around and see. Definitely will be back!

We are frequent campers and this was our first Hipcamp booking. It has ruined us for all future campsites because it set the bar so high! My wife and I spent Thanksgiving (3 nights) here. This was an amazing property. We stayed in the camping/sheltered site with a HOT TUB !!, amazing views, fire ring, power. Everything we needed for enjoyable cold weather camping. And that heated bath house!!! Unreal, the detail and amenities. Second to none. The on property hiking was so enjoyable. Take a walk to Day Dreamer’s rock. Such a magical experience. We are already trying to find time to bring back the rest of the family. I can not recommend this site enough. We are looking forward to future trips to Indian Creek.

We loved our campsite! Hosts were friendly and helpful. We were right by the river just as the pictures showed and other campers weren't super close. There was a small play set for the kids and an easy hiking trail toward the end of the property. We were able to get firewood on the site and we had a great time!

Beautiful camp grounds. Well maintained and easy to navigate. A number of additional amenities and small touches to make the stay feel a bit elevated while still feeling off grid and primitive. I also really liked how spaced out the sites were. You didn’t feel like you were on top of the other campers, it felt like you had reasonable privacy. Would stay again.

My family loved this Asheville retreat! This was our first time in the area and although it was a short trip, it was mighty! Jam packed full of tons of touristy activities within the city, but also exploring trails and sights along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nate and Stephanie’s place was the perfect distance to not be too far away, allowing us to enjoy the evening out from under the city lights, but also still close enough to all of the various activities that we did. Throughout everything we did, my son (7) said the hot tub was his favorite part. It’s also worth mentioning that when the hosts found out we were arriving well after dark, they made the effort to turn the lights on for us, which most definitely helped with our arrival. Nate and Stephanie, thank you for allowing us to call your place “home”. We look forward to returning again some day!
