Coffee is always free. :) I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. My wife and I moved to the area, from Boone, in the spring of 2014. Our dream was to own a house, preferably a cabin, on top of a mountain with long range views and a gradual winding road to the top. Living in Boone, this dream was definitely out of reach. When we began our search for a new home in the Asheville area, we discovered that the more affordable homes were in fact on the mountains. Perfect! In general I always have a pretty positive outlook on what’s possible, however, I was skeptical that we would ever find our dream home. As Jeannie began her Zillow browsing adventures, one particular cabin with acreage, that was outside of our budget continued to pop up. Jeannie would delete it and then it would come back. At some point the price began to drop, and drop, and drop. On our way back into town one weekend after attending a wedding, I convinced Jeannie to drive by the cabin just because we had the time. Immediately we fell in love and reached out to our realtor buddy. It was more of a shot in the dark but it couldn’t hurt, right? We held our breath for the next month totally expecting someone to get it under contract before us or the sellers not accepting our offer. It had already been reduced significantly so we knew our chances of a lowball offer were slim. We offered the most that we could get a loan for. They accepted! I still get anxious thinking back to that month, October 2014. Many years and two children later, here we are, just as excited everyday to make the long trek up our mountain as we were that August of 2014, and now we are happy to offer a similar experience to you, without having to buy the place. Learn more about this land:   Pitch your tent in the grass on the tip top of the mountain or park your camper in the flat gravel spot with a fire pit just below the top with beautiful views overlooking Cane Creek.  In the fall and winter enjoy 360 degree views and in the summer enjoy the shade and cool breeze while relaxing & snacking on wild wine berries and black raspberries.   What you will not find is light pollution, traffic, and a desire to leave the mountain.  Fall asleep to the calls of the hoot owl and wake up to the knocking of the wood pecker.       If & when you decide to explore the area, be sure to checkout Hickory Nut Gap farm just 7.9 miles away & Whistle Hop Brewery 7.7 miles away.  Turgua brewery just down on Cane Creek road is only 6.2 miles from camp.  Cane Creek Valley Farm as well as the Cane Creek Community swimming pool is also at the base of camp just in case the kids need a dip of ice cream or a dip in the pool.  Justus Apple Orchard is only 10 miles down the mountain towards Hendersonville.  We love taking our kids there.      We are only 15 miles from downtown Asheville & Hendersonville, and 22 miles from Lake Lure. Perfectly situated just 3 miles to the entrance of Pisgah Forest, 25 minutes to DuPont, five minutes to downtown Brevard, fifteen from Ashville airport and 30 minutes to downtown Asheville . ***Central potable water hookup, NO water hookup at sites. Even though the site states "Water Hookup", it's actually a central fill-up station. The way this appears through the platform is confusing, we know but it's a HipCamp glitch that we have asked them to address. *****No arrivals after 10:00pm. We're available to answer questions and provide assistance between the hours of 7:00am-10:00pm. ** Overall length of more than 50' will not be able to make the turns on the property. ie. if your tow behind is 30' and truck is 22' you will will not be able to make the turns

We had the most wonderful weekend at Edwin’s spot. It was absolutely beautiful, incredibly private, and exactly what we were hoping for in a peaceful getaway. We tent camped in February, and even with the colder weather, we were comfortable and cozy. I didn’t expect the shelter on site, but we really appreciated using it for extra storage. The views were stunning, the sunrise was breathtaking, and the campfire kept us warm all afternoon while we cooked and relaxed. There’s something special about spending a slow day by the fire with nowhere else to be. Our dogs had the best time exploring all the open space, too. It truly felt like our own little retreat for the weekend. We were sad to leave when the trip was over, but we’ve already shared this hidden gem with friends and hope many more people get to experience it. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is exactly as pictured. The gravel site is nice, the hook ups work, and the heated bathroom was beautiful. I have never been under a rain shower attachment that actually felt like a nice heavy rain until I stayed here.

Such a lovely spot! I live in the area and needed a spot in the woods to decompress and this was just that! The spot and the view were lovely, I enjoyed having all the storage for gear and firewood, and the privy was such a nice convenience! The space is well kept and the host was easy to communicate with. I will definitely be recommending this spot to my friends and hope to stay again!

The site is exactly as lovely as the listing describes. The hosts are kind and helpful and the site is spotless with every amenity in top quality. The area lost power due to bad weather and the hosts were helpful with outage updates and site fixes that were electric company related. The camp was private, scenic, and convenient. The drive into the city was quick and easy. Our stay over a winter holiday was perfect and we were so glad we picked this site to make us comfortable for winter camping.

We had a wonderful stay at this camper site. It was peaceful, clean, and incredibly relaxing—exactly what we were looking for. The extra amenities really made the experience special. The location was perfect for what I was looking for. Very quiet and secluded. I went on Christmas Day, which was really nice because being winter I could see through all the trees and I had a 360° view of the mountains around us. Several good spots to pitch multiple tents, and just a great spot overall. Highly recommend
