(Note: we don’t have a boat ramp, but kayaks and paddleboards can be launched easily from shore.) The water is brackish, and locals typically don’t swim in it. We can accommodate up to eight full-size RVs in drive-through sites (up to 55' in length). Tow vehicles can be detached and parked separately. We can also host four trucks or vans up to 25' in length in back-in sites. RV slots have 50A power and water, while truck and van sites have 30A power and water. We also offer one primitive tent site, with three to four more planned, and a glamping tent coming in Spring 2026. All sites include picnic tables and fire pits, and tent campers are welcome to use RV sites. Please note there isn’t much shade, so it can get hot in the middle of summer. This may be fine for RVs, but tent campers should keep an eye on temperatures. Spring, fall, and early winter are especially pleasant — perfect for sitting around a campfire under the stars. With very little light pollution, stargazing is excellent. Small solar torches provide a soft glow at night, but we recommend bringing a flashlight for walking after dark. Our bathhouse includes toilets and sinks. We do not currently have showers, but we’re working on adding them soon. As for location, we’re only a 12-minute drive from Oriental, the sailing capital of North Carolina — a charming, friendly town of just 999 residents. Despite its small size, Oriental hosts many local events throughout the year. This host communicated with excellent response times and even called to check on me while i was running late ( from kayak fishing til dark ) on the way to his lodging ! The entire rental lodgings were made to look & feel like a outdoor camp or retreat being it was along a pristine tidewater creek. The experience was just so friendly and Rizwan gave me the impression i was a welcome and appreciated guest. Definitely a great value & look forward to another stay at Serenity . thx Bluejay fan !

Weekend Trip to Serenity

We had an amazing time! The RV was beautiful! It had everything you might need. You could bring your clothes and food and you'd be all set! The screened in deck was perfect!! We spent our time playing cards on our deck, cooking food, fishing from the floating dock, taking out the paddle boat and fishing from it, (there are also kayaks available) star gazing in the provided zero gravity chairs, and napping. Riz, the host, was a super cool guy!! A couple of the days there were a couple different campers nearby, yet it was still so quiet and felt private. We can't wait to come back! We plan to bring my boyfriends 14 year old son and his friend and we will rent the tent on the water for them, and the rv for us! They will love it!! Thank you Riz for an amazing stay your property you have built is impressive to say the least!

Beautiful setting that is convenient to Avon yet also private and natural. What a great way to use the space under a beach house! It was perfect to keep our teardrop out of the rain and give us plenty of covered space to spread out. Note that while this home is as close to the dune as possible, the homes on this part of the island are set back from the actual beach so there is a bit of a hilly nature walk to the dune and a steep drop down to the beach. However, that nature walk (complete with wild flowers) was actually our favorite part! Just a note that those who have mobility issues might need to use the public access walkway a few houses down the street which has decking and stairs for better accessibility. The owner is very quick to respond when we had questions. We did have a few minor issues (e.g no hot water or lights in the shower or bathroom) but we loved it regardless and will hopefully be back!

We loved camping at this horse farm. Dawn was responsive and easy to work with. The drive back to the site can be a little tight but if you take your time you can make it easily. Water and electric worked perfectly. It's a great location in fairly close proximity to Rehoboth and other beaches in the area.

This was a nice stop for us as we headed north back to MD. Nags Head and Kitty Hawk were a close drive. The HipCamp sites were located with bay frontage. This may be obvious for some but not so for me... the # in front of the "Full Hook-up" description is your site #. Wished for better weather!

Weekend Trip to Phoenix Farms Vineyard

Host(s) were friendly, meeting us on arrival and offered us two options to set up in. We chose the one a bit further away from the animals (goats, chickens, ducks, peacock, & a pig with piglets) all of which were extremely cute, but we had our dog with us and didn't want to stress him or the animals. Our spot was a bit more private and further away from the house and pen, Keep in mind s there are no services so make sure you are fully self contained. The spot was nice and open so our solar and starlink had clear views. Host even offered us some fresh eggs the day we left It was a peaceful couple of days

This was a perfect place to spend the night, heading home from Ocracoke, just a short drive from the Swan Quarter ferry. Water, power and a nice level spot, provided everything we needed. We would be happy to go back next time, and highly recommend. Super quiet, safe, and plenty of room to walk around with the dog.
