The sunsets are incredible. And when the full moon is over the pond it is an amazing sight. You can relax here by the pond or venture out to explore historic down town New Bern ,or head the the beach located in Morehead, Swansboro, and the surrounding areas. Check the local Restaurants and the local shops as well. Throughout the year we are surrounded by many different festivals as well.
You can listen to the crickets and the birds chirping, and watch the squirrel as they jump and run from tree to tree.we are close to the beaches and are in close proximity of the national Forrest as well. And there are quite a few golf courses near to us as well.

Enjoy this unique and family/pet-friendly home. Captain Claude Brown built this charming farmhouse in 1945 for his bride Belle. The Brown family is very well-known in Marshallberg, NC. The road and an island are named after them! The farmhouse was lovingly renovated in 2023 and is ready for guests, both 2-legged and 4-legged! There is a water view from the front porch, the Marshallberg Harbor and boat ramp are a 1/2 mile away, and a doggy door leads to a fun fenced-in area for Fido!
The space
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, one with a bathtub. The kitchen is completely renovated with adorable, retro appliances that work like the best modern appliances out there. There is a large 60 inch television in the beautifully-furnished living room, and a relaxing sunroom that faces the distinguished old barn. The doggie door leads out to a perfectly fenced area of the backyard where your dog can run and play safely. The neighborhood is very dog friendly and there is a nice 1 mile walk around the block. You can see water from the front porch and put your boat in at the ramp in the Marshallberg Harbor.

The entire house is open for your vacation getaway except the upstairs attic.
Other things to note
Marshallberg looks out over Core Sound and the Cape Lookout lighthouse. You will see fishing boats of all kinds going by. You can take a ferry from Harkers Island over to the lighthouse to see it up close and then cross an elevated path to the ocean side of Core Banks. Feel free to bring your own boat and put it in at the Marshallberg Harbor boat ramp. There is no charge for using the ramp.

Enjoy this unique and family/pet-friendly home. Captain Claude Brown built this charming farmhouse in 1945 for his bride Belle. The Brown family is very well-known in Marshallberg, NC. The road and an island are named after them! The farmhouse was lovingly renovated in 2023 and is ready for guests, both 2-legged and 4-legged! There is a water view from the front porch, the Marshallberg Harbor and boat ramp are a 1/2 mile away, and a doggy door leads to a fun fenced-in area for Fido!
The space
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, one with a bathtub. The kitchen is completely renovated with adorable, retro appliances that work like the best modern appliances out there. There is a large 60 inch television in the beautifully-furnished living room, and a relaxing sunroom that faces the distinguished old barn. The doggie door leads out to a perfectly fenced area of the backyard where your dog can run and play safely. The neighborhood is very dog friendly and there is a nice 1 mile walk around the block. You can see water from the front porch and put your boat in at the ramp in the Marshallberg Harbor.
Guest access
The entire house is open for your vacation getaway except the upstairs attic.
Other things to note
Marshallberg looks out over Core Sound and the Cape Lookout lighthouse. You will see fishing boats of all kinds going by. You can take a ferry from Harkers Island over to the lighthouse to see it up close and then cross an elevated path to the ocean side of Core Banks. Feel free to bring your own boat and put it in at the Marshallberg Harbor boat ramp. There is no charge for using the ramp.

Welcome to the beauty and nature of Core Sound! The Yates Cottage is situated directly on the water and features spectacular views of Core Sound and Cape Lookout Lighthouse, with large windows on three sides. Other amenities are a large screen porch, a fire pit, and a large yard for lawn games. The Yates cottage is great for couples, families, dogs, joggers, walkers, bikers, fishers, and boaters. You will be welcomed with freshly made beds, towels, and a full kitchen with Keurig and Rachel Ray cookware.
The space
You simply won't find a better view of or access to Core Sound. The Marshallberg boat ramp is just around the corner. The Korner general store is just a 10-minute walk on safe streets.
Guest access
The entire house. Pets are welcome, but we require a non-refundable fee of $150 for up to three well-behaved and potty-trained dogs or cats. This is a set fee regardless of the number of nights reserved.

Rizwan's place is quite beautiful, down to earth, and has room to explore! The type of feels I enjoy! I could truly see all the hard work, love, and attention that has been put into the accommodations.
Any questions were answered pleasantly and promptly. I slept well and had fun hanging around the property and look forward to coming back again and seeing what's new! I really enjoyed the details like the communal kitchen, docks with fishing poles/tackle, PFDs (lifejackets), and especially the various watercraft you could use.
We may not be the best fisherfolk, but my dog and I had a great time attempting to fish on the paddleboat, while watching the pelicans, osprey, and eagles dive into the water around us. (2 thumbs and paws up)

I absolutely loved my stay here! Sam thought about everything! From the fire pit, to the incredible hot tub with coffee in the morning, I would return 100000 times! There are so many incredible things to do around there, I had the best day ever exploring around there and staying! I can’t wait to return!

This host communicated with excellent response times and even called to check on me while i was running late ( from kayak fishing til dark ) on the way to his lodging ! The entire rental lodgings were made to look & feel like a outdoor camp or retreat being it was along a pristine tidewater creek. The experience was just so friendly and Rizwan gave me the impression i was a welcome and appreciated guest. Definitely a great value & look forward to another stay at Serenity . thx Bluejay fan !

Weekend Trip to Serenity
We had an amazing time! The RV was beautiful! It had everything you might need. You could bring your clothes and food and you'd be all set! The screened in deck was perfect!! We spent our time playing cards on our deck, cooking food, fishing from the floating dock, taking out the paddle boat and fishing from it, (there are also kayaks available) star gazing in the provided zero gravity chairs, and napping. Riz, the host, was a super cool guy!! A couple of the days there were a couple different campers nearby, yet it was still so quiet and felt private. We can't wait to come back! We plan to bring my boyfriends 14 year old son and his friend and we will rent the tent on the water for them, and the rv for us! They will love it!! Thank you Riz for an amazing stay your property you have built is impressive to say the least!

This was a great place to spend the night with my son instead of a boring typical hotel. It had just enough rustic flavor to feel like you were camping out in the woods over the water, but still had a shower and a toilet you could use which made it easier with a kid. Rizwan was very friendly and accommodating and would recommend this for anyone wanting a more natural camping experience.

We loved tent camping on the floating tent! Rizwan met us at the dock to make sure we were all squared away. There were lots of thoughtful amenities like propane fire pit, some toiletries, and access to kayaks. We had a great time at the camp site. Riz the host was great. He showed my boys how to throw the casting net and use the crab trap. We caught shrimp and bait fish that we tried at various spots. The heat and humidity got us but the site was great and well equipped. The boys liked being able to fish right off the floating dock. Would definitely recommend.
