5 nights at Peace Of Pisgah

Peace of Pisgah has wonderful hosts and a great location for exploring Brevard, Pisgah Forest sites and Hendersonville. I loved the gurgling stream, amenities and hot shower. Will definitely be back. Thank you Vicki and Bryan!

4 nights at Trails & Tails Waterfalls Retreat

We absolutely loved camping in the SylvanSport Go on Beth's land! Beth and Rob are very kind folks who tend to a gorgeous, peaceful piece of land. Brevard and Pisgah National Forest are an easy drive from the property. It's the perfect basecamp for many outdoor adventures. We're so grateful we found Beth's land and will be frequent visitors!!

Convenient location close to town and near all the trails, but feels like you’re in the middle of the forest. Like others have said, it is close to the main road so there is some noise, but I stayed over a holiday weekend and it still wasn’t bad at all. Really nice to have toilets and shower! The freshly laid eggs were delicious! And the camp hosts were so friendly and gave me great tips for local attractions.

So awesome!! Vicki is amazing and such a kind soul. We didn’t feel like we were staying on their property, we felt like they were sharing their little part of the world with us. Highly suggest. And if you’re a mountain biker, 5min from Pisgah Proper, 15min from N. Mills, 20min from Dupont. They’re also super bike friendly with onsite bike wash!!!

Such a beautiful place! The site was perfect for our 3 kids and pup. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained (from playing in the creek to watching the ducks and just exploring the property) - we all had a great time! Set up was easy, they provided a wheel barrel to help with unloading the car and even had chairs already at the fire pit.

A wonderful spot! The tent site was set up perfectly and backed up to a babbling creek. We loved the outdoor shower, using the pavilion and the new baby ducks were such a fun surprise! Will absolutely be back.

We had such a great time at the Waldhaus cabin! It’s so secluded and beautiful - plus we even saw a Blue Ghost firefly. If you’re thinking about booking this, make sure you’re prepared to walk 15-20 min up a VERY steep mud hill. It was so worth it, but keep that in mind :)

The campsite was great and had beautiful views during the day and the stars at night. We enjoyed the lookout area set up with grills and hammocks.

2 nights at Starlight Hills

We stayed at MTG 1 for 2 nights with our 2 grandsons and 2 dogs. Starlight Hills is a great spot for camping...we loved the view and the hammocks especially (MTG 1 is next to the common area with grills and hammocks). It was a bit hot (expected), so bring battery fans! (and bug repellent). Water station was great (although a walk down/up hill from our site). Port-a-Potty not far. Showers were excellent! Overall, a wonderful experience. One suggestion is to add a few more grills (2 may not be enough for those full weekends). Yurt was clean and thoughtfully arranged, although a bit tight with our crew. William was very responsive to questions and made sure to greet us with our add-ons we purchased. Memories were made....thank you!!

The dome is so lovley, it felt so magical and i was able to get some cell service during my stay. Such a huge surprised there was some games there. The shower were cold but really spacious. Def will be going back

Peace of Pisgah was a perfect weekend getaway spot! The campsite itself is so cute and cozy. The queen size bed in the tent was so comfortable, we woke up each morning feeling so refreshed! The communal area was a nice touch with a sink, small fridge, and plugs incase you need to charge anything. The shower was also stocked with all of the things you needed! The location is perfect if you wanted to spend a day in downtown brevard, or spend the day in pisgah national forest :) Only thing to note is that it is next to the main road, so if you’re a light sleeper be prepared for car noise! All in all I give Vikki’s spot a 10/10 and will most definitely be back soon! ❤️

3 nights at At the Ridge Camp-Riverside Escapes

The cabin was cozy and perfectly nestled right on the river—just steps from the water. Loved listening to the sound of the current, watching the campfire flames, and waking up to birdsong. Great spot for a relaxing weekend, unplugging (literally), and enjoying nature. The various hosts and helpers were friendly and ready to assist. It's not fancy, but exactly what is needed at a great value. When you normally tent camp, carcamp/boondock, hike/backpack, it's all an upgrade!! This was my 3rd visit and will definitely be back! Only couple things to note, that some might want to know beforehand: there are 1 or 2 'resident RVs' other than the campground host in the campground and some (hunting?) dogs across the river/road that bark occasionally.

I loved the glamping experience ! It was quiet and secluded. The trails were pretty. I went up the overlook trail. The showers were clean with hot water too . The tent and bed were comfortable . And it was quiet and night. Starlight Hills was awesome !

Weekend Trip to The Waldhaus Resort

We had a great weekend with our two dogs surrounded by nature. The hike up sure is steep and we would say it’s not for anyone who is out of shape especially if you plan on making additional trips down to sightsee over your stay, which we did to Asheville. (We did find a great walking stick along the way and left it at the base camp too in case it lives on) Hans is so hospitable and gave great instructions for the cabin that he built so well, it’s a great balance of modern and rustic. There is still cell service so if you’re looking to unplug, Airplane Mode is needed. We hope the Summit continues to provide great experiences like this for years to come, it is a gem.

Weekend Trip to TangleWood Creekside Campsites

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shady Creek location! While you can see the other properties from your spot (Creekside is a close neighbor to the right), the overall view and access to the creek was beautiful and peaceful and the visitors are respectful. I was thankful for the amenities: Blair provided access to a porta-potty, power station, fan, and Keurig machine. We also paid for firewood ahead of time and it was waiting for us when we arrived. You are also very close to Pisgah National Park and Lake James. My two complaints are 1) the padlocked entrance gate is a bit cumbersome. I appreciate that the space is being protected from unwanted visitors, but as a chronic worrier, I felt uneasy thinking about having to go through that process in an emergency. 2) you can hear cars passing on the road behind your tent. It’s not heavy traffic, but noticeable if you were looking for a quieter nature escape. Overall, I would rate it 4.7 stars and would definitely stay at one of the Tanglewood properties again.

The camper sits between a stream (where our small flock of ducks splash and play), and the larger Upper Browns Creek (where our small flock of humans do the same). Open the windows to the sound of the babbling creek (and occasional duck quack during daylight hours), nap or read on the banks of Browns Creek, or cap off a day of adventurous hiking in the Black Mountains with a cool off in the pristine water of our own little dunking hole, thanks to Hurricane Helene. Challenging and steep hike, but worth it. 11 mi- Upper Dill Falls & Lower Dill Falls. 50 ft. Waterfall (lower) with just a short easy hike. Upper Dill falls is beautiful and tucked into a lush cove. 7.9 mi- Wolf Creek Lake. Better known to the locals as Wolf Lake, this 183 acre high elevation lake offers spectacular scenery and great swimming, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding.

Raven Ridge

Raven ridge is a 5.0 acre property with plenty of botanical appeal, Appalachian charm and mountain views. James landed on the property in 2009, built a small dairy barn and milked 3 cows for a couple years before building the two cabins. In 2015 he was joined by Sofi, originally from Sweden and together they have three daughters. Together they manage a botanically interesting hobby hill farm and are happy to host travelers and seekers in their cabins. Hilltop was a joint project that James built in 2012 with a talented woodworker and friend in 6 months. We have maintained the original vibe of the place, rustic simplicity and elegance a notch or two above glamping, well-described by the zen koan, "chop wood, carry water" Orchard House was built entirely by James from the block up to the roof, averaging 1 hour/day for 3 years or 1,000 hours. Some of the Hilltop photos are a bit dated, we have a more private outhouse behind the cabin, and have made a few improvements here and there. Reach out anytime for any reason. We love hosting and nearly everyone enjoys their stay.
