Wiseman Ridge is a boutique micro campground for RVs only, first opened in July of 2022. Our property adjoins the Blue Ridge Parkway in Linville Falls NC with easy access off NC 221. We offer 5 full hook up RV sites with views of Hawksbill, Table Rock and Humpback Mountains. Micro means we have only a handful of sites but that is where micro ends. Each site is expansive, with large areas to spread out and enjoy the views or play yard games. Unlike typical RV parks our sites are spread out on the ridge top and offer great views and lots of space.
Our campground offers a unique camping experience for the RV and outdoors enthusiast. All of our RV sites feature views of the surrounding peaks and have full hook ups with, water, septic and 30 or 50 amp power access, high speed wi-fi access at each site as well as a picnic table and in ground fire pits.
Wiseman Ridge provides the peace and quiet of nature at its finest, with easy direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot or by road. We are just a mile down the parkway from the entrance to the Linville Falls parking lot and picnic area, and 2 miles from Kistler Memorial Highway (Old NC 105) that provides access to the western rim of Linville Gorge and multiple trailheads.
Our campground is for conventional travel trailers and motorhomes only. We do not have bathroom or bathhouse facilities so we cannot allow campers that do not have a self contained bathroom that can hook up to a conventional RV sewer drain and no human waste is allowed in our trash receptacles.

To access the site you will drive approx. 15 minutes up a gravel road. Overall we are located about ~30 minutes from I-40 and about 25 min to Marion & Morganton, NC.
For recreation you can access South Mountains Gamelands which is adjacent to the property. You can also drive to South Mountains State Park which is only 15 minutes away. Lake James State Park is 35 minutes away and offers great recreation potent entail as well as Linville Gorge which is 45-60 minutes away.

We offer two connected 8x16' tiers with center posts for hanging a tarp or setting up tents. You can see in our photos how a tent would fit on the platforms, there is plenty of space and truly amazing views right from your tent door. The site features a fire pit and an outhouse.

We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views.
Naming our campground proved to be one of the most challenging tasks throughout the process of developing it. After many ideas and brainstorming sessions as a family, we decided to go with Tellurian. 16 miles North of Marion and closer to Linville Gorge, Linville Falls and The Blue Ridge Parkway area, we are a perfect jump off point for all your adventures including The Apple Orchard at Altapass, Linville Caverns in addition to the ones mentioned above. TangleWood Creekside Campsites offers a rocky creek winding through the woods at the base of several hikable peaks hidden just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our North Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor.
The location is convenient to tons of local attractions for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as shopping, dining, even wine tasting. We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk make them each wonderful day-trip destinations.

Conveniently positioned between Asheville and Charlotte, our location offers easy access to a multitude of attractions, including Lake Lure, Chimney Rock State Park, South Mountain State Park, and the Tryon International Equestrian Center, all within a 40-minute drive. Additionally, we're just minutes away from the Yogi Jelly Stone Water Park and Cherry Bounce Adventure ATV Riding Park.
Situated off the Bostic Sunshine Hwy, our campground provides a variety of camping options to suit your preferences. Choose from primitive campsites nestled in wooded areas or open field atmospheres. For added convenience, we offer a 30ft gravel camping pad equipped with 30 amp power, water, and sewer hookups, along with a gas fire pit and a 10x10 wooden deck. Accessing your campsite is a breeze with our paved drive.
Primitive camping options include BYOE (Bring Your Own Equipment), with a porta-potty conveniently located near wooded area campsites. Wooded area sites feature a tent camping pad and a fire pit ring, while open field sites offer a fire pit ring without a camping pad.
Explore the natural beauty of our 8-acre property at your own pace, taking in the serene landscape and peaceful surroundings. As we're located near the ATV riding park, accessing it from our property is convenient. Please inform us if you plan to visit the riding park, and we'll gladly show you the way through the back of our property. Relax, unwind, and enjoy a memorable getaway at Cherry Mtn. Camp.

My wife and I made the Tellurian our first trip with our new camper. Everything went extremely smoothly and I think it is because of how well the campground is set up and maintained. When we first arrived we backed into our spot (#3) and I was happily surprised to find that the site was dead level. Getting everything hooked up was a breeze and water, sewer, and electric all worked perfect our entire trip. I cannot overstate how amazing the view was from our site and my wife and I barely wanted to leave our chairs the entire weekend because of how unbelievable it was. We met Jud on Saturday and he was extremely nice and even mentioned a second viewpoint for the sunset that was an absolute knockout. We went down to the river and the accesses were easy to walk and well defined. The water was too cold to get in but I could see it being a great spot to spend time in the summer. The bathhouse was very clean and the layout gave plenty of privacy. Overall we had a 10/10 experience and we will certainly be coming back.

Amazing spot. Had some friends fly in from Boston and our original site was not ideal. Found Tanglewood and Blair accommodated us so quickly. It’s was one of our best camping trips. Already planning our next trip back to this exact spot.

Amazing experience! You could definitely hear the Creek Music and the land was super clean! The cleanest port-a-potty I’ve ever experienced. There was even firewood at the campsite when we got there.

The campsites were spaced out nicely so the other campers aren’t right up on each other. The view of the sky and the mountains in the distance was excellent. We didn’t have time to go down to see the river access since we only stayed one night so I can’t comment on that part. The bathrooms were nice and there was a common game room area which is probably nice to have when the weather takes a turn for the worst. Overall, I was very pleased.

We had the absolute best time and are already planning our trip back. It was beautiful and peaceful, tons of privacy and great facilities. The wildlife was incredible, we saw hawks, deer, and more butterflies than I could have ever expected. Blair was so nice and so helpful and has just done the best job making Tanglewood what it is. Clearly a lot of thought and care has gone in to building the site.

I’m 16, and my friend and I stayed for a night at Site 4, really great original camping experience. I would recommend this to everyone I know. If you decide to stay (which you should), I would also recommend buying the hour at the spa area, really beautiful sunset, and just the whole experience was refreshing.

The views were lovely and the stay was great. We had the place to ourselves. We watched an incredible sunset from the overlook. They're doing work on the grounds, but there is a lot of fun stuff going on. I imagine it's especially beautiful when the trees are fuller in the warmer months. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Starlight Hills to groups and families looking for a little more than just a campground.
An important thing to note: the pictures of the sites are misleading. The sunset shots with people at benches and near a grill are from the common area. Aside from some of the glamping sites, most of the sites are surrounded by trees and are NOT open to a view. 6, 8, and 9 come the closest. I booked site 3 after looking through all the site photos. It was hard to tell what it would look like or if it had a view. We were disappointed to find that site 3 was not at all what we had imagined. However, there were almost no other guests, and William was very nice about letting us select another site that was closer to what we wanted.
